Make your own cleaning solution - Shaver cleaning liquid tested and adjusted during 2 years. For Braun Clean & Renew station- Serie 7 - Serie 8 - Serie 9 - DIY
couple of things - it is better to use denatured ethanol vs isopropyl. it is much more gentler on plastic. isopropyl over a long period may destroy your shaver plastic parts. second, adding about 3 ml of glycerine works brilliantly as a lubricant. oil doesnt really mix, so it doesnt do much. lastly a little bit of peroxide added will be a great disinfectant (though it may be stinging to a few people). lastly a pinch of salt - because the newer cleaning stations refuse to start unless the liquid is at a particular conductivity
Hi, thank you for your suggestion. The lemon oil I add is correctly mixed. Even after a month I can see that the oil is not separated from the rest of the solution. The lubrication is OK and it smells good. About conductivity, the solution is to use tap water. The salt is not good for the metallic parts... very aggressive. I use this solution from many years now and no problem with plastics parts. Denatured ethanol can contain about 5% methanol, which is very toxic. This solution has been approved by someone who worked in this area as a chemical and he says it is very close to the original solution. So you can go for it without any doubt. It is simple to prepare and very cheap. Thanks again for your message. Cheers.
@@JeromeLouvet hi. so this was a suggestion basically. my bad if it came off any other way. and i would love to hear your experience if u try it this way (in case you ever do!). denatured ethanol without methanol is used in hand sanitisers and glycerine is actually part of the components in the original mixture that gives it the water soluble lubrication. the salt is not ideal, but it is required in the newer cleaners since they wont turn on without a specific conductivity - i mentioned it because 9 pro+ series shows that red light otherwise.
@@WhatWeMenWant hi, yes I understood that was a suggestion 😉 I have experimented some problems with conductivity at the beginning but with tap water and a good proportion between alcohol and water It works perfectly. I now use a model 9 and It works just fine. Cheers😉
Hi, cold pressed lemon oil. You can watch my video with the exact recipe here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tp5wRU6Dzvw.html Cheers! ;-)
I am supposed? :-) The conductivity of distilled water lower tham tap water and I made some tests at the beginning but with this proportion (also calculated to be economic) I had some problem of liquid detection in the station. I have been using tap water for years and I had no problem, even if here the water is calcareous.
Hello Amir, if this rotary sahver is normally using liquid to clean, yes you can use this solution. If the shaver must only be cleaned with a brush, dont use liquid because it can go inside of the shaver and dammage the motor and the electrical parts. Cheers! ;-)
@@JeromeLouvet Yes, i mean for Philips wet and dry shavers. Also, is it possible to make a big bottle beforehand and refill when needed? Do you think lemon oil is a must?
@@amirprog Hello Amir, so for dry shavers I do not recommend to use liquid. You can make a bottle. You will just have to shake it before refilling the cartridge. It is not mandarory to use Lemon oil, you can use any oil that can be in contact with skin. The oil is for the fragance but the main goal is to lubricate the shaver parts. Cheers ;-)
@@amirprog Hello Amir :-) The original cartridge is sold for 30 cleaning cycles. But it also depends on each shaver because the cleaning base is not identical. The Braun serie 9 has a fan to dry the shaver. In my case I can´t tell you because I shave twice a week and I suppose that part of the liquid is lost by evaporation. Cheer ;-)
Hi, 60 drops correspond to 3ml. In total there is 200ml of solution. It is 1,5% of oil. Do you think it is excessive? It is not. The oil is here to give a good smell but also to lubricate. So if you want you can even put more. Cheers 😉
