I use quite a bit of spray paint on my projects and I really hate standing around shaking the cans for a few minutes each time, especially when I'm using a few colors and primer. Even worse is when I don't shake enough or the paint is a little older and it doesn't come out evenly or results in a poor finish from not being mixed well.
Here is my solution to this problem, a machine that will shake the cans for me so I can focus on other things while they're mixing. This will also let me occasionally mix my entire stock of paint from time to time to ensure they stay well mixed sitting on my shelf.
I built this out of plywood and 2x6 lumber with some threaded rod, bronze bushings and a small wiper motor like I used on my rock tumbler project.
This was a fun little project and should come in quite handy in my workshop. Let me know what you thought about it in the comments and if you have ever made something similar or could use one yourself.
Good news, I was in my garage today and found a motor I picked up for future projects and it has a part number on it. Not the exact same as the video but similar square female shaft input. PART# FD MY2007 U222, I found one on ebay www.ebay.com/itm/275500416448
