If this isn’t clear as day that flexibility does not kill your gains and that it’s closely correlated with strength I don’t know what is
@tamifasdf7777
@tamifasdf7777 2 года назад
The idea that flexibility hurts ur gains at all is redicilous. Not only does it allow u go to deeper into movements it allows you to handle more weight because ur ligaments and tendons aren’t tight. A lot of people lift less not because of a lack of muscle but other factors
@johreh
@johreh 9 месяцев назад
If I remember correctly, a physiotherapist once explained to me that it is super important to have maximum range of motion. So not simply the ability to stretch, but the ability to controlled movement within that maximum range.
@sneeds
@sneeds 7 месяцев назад
idk how people think having more ability to move your muscles and less muscular tightness somehow inhibits strength and not the opposite

@dengleefever
@dengleefever 9 лет назад
LazyBoyee65 well, i made that comment partly in jest, but i suppose with some assumptions as well. for example, the leopard himself seems to be a very avid proponent of always toes forward, knees out - dude hates valgus knees. never mind whether or not there's any weight on your back.

@gabbar51ngh
@gabbar51ngh 2 года назад
It's a false Myth that flexibility goes away while getting stronger. Unless you are buffed up like Ronnie Coleman. Your flexibility can be great while having strength. I actually got more flexible by lifting weights which is completely opposite to what I used to believe.

Gat Su wat. not having mobility is one of the biggest causes of injury
@pete9715
@pete9715 9 лет назад
Totally agree. Actually injury is caused either by weakness or flexibility lol. I wasn't suggesting not developing mobility. I'm just commenting that an elite lifter like Dmitry Klokov has me beat in all levels and it just seems so difficult to get big gains in mobility and strength. Dam that guy lol.

Stretch reflex, and more sarcomere surface area. flexibility actually helps with power and strength
@callumbarnes554
@callumbarnes554 4 года назад
Simplest was is to strength train, using full ROM (or possibly better defined as the ROM you want). Check out a snatch grip RDL for example from floor or even deficit. That an awesome stretch on every rep and you get strong
