Where did this idea that parents have to cherish every moment come from? Is that just parental guilt? Is it purely nostalgia? There are plenty of moments not worth cherishing at all. Welcome to the Vloggiest Vlog.

"fighting over air" I got a funny story. Two of my siblings were fighting over "money" so my mom called them into the living room bc she was going to take it so they could settle down. They handed her imaginary money. They were fighting over imaginary air money

my aunt and my mother had a knock down drag out fight because my aunt drew a box in the air and said "this is is mine and you can't have it", and the fight was on because she won't "share the air box".

I remember the exact moment I knew I was a "mom". My 6 year old was so sick and she was trying to call for me and vomit at the same time (she sounded like donald duck). I picked up her, slipped in the vomit and the only thing on my mind was is she going to be ok? Didn't care about the mess, the bedding, the smell, the laundry. I didn't cherish the mess or the sickness, but I do remember the eureka moment of thinking "I got this".

Oh my God. This was truly and utterly beautiful, in the nasty vomity way. I'm not a mother yet, but it's been a dream of mine my whole life and I love reading comments like these. Motherhood is the greatest things and roles we can have, but it's not easy and sweet always. This is such a perfect example of it. 💕

I hate puke and my husband deals with it whenever possible, but that doesn't mean I haven't caught puke in my hands in a desperate attempt to keep the house a little cleaner. It's amazing how the worst thing suddenly feels worth it when the tired little person, all puked out, cuddles into you and you feel their body finally relax.

I have been a childcare provider for over 25 years. I have helped raise countless children. I was never able to have my own, but I can tell you how fast it goes, and those memories stay forever. Many moments that were mundane are now treasured memories. Feel what you feel in the moment and trust that the truly valuable moments will stay with you forever. Just trust your future self to hold on to what memories are important.

I watch all your videos to get a better understanding for when I do become a parent. Between you and tori you've given me more information than I had in the 18 years I lived with my parents. I want to break the cycle and not yell for small things, and I know I'm not going to be perfect, but I will try my best to not make my child feel like they're the problem. I'm so thankful I can watch your content to get a better understanding on how to raise nice humans. What you're doing is so helpful for a generation of new parents and I want you to know that you've changed my perspective on how I will raise my children❤

I'm not a Mom but I'm learning more on how to treat children no matter who they belong to. Kids are influenced by everyone they meet. On behalf of me and any little ones I run across, Thank you!

"Good enough parenting" has been introduced to me. I have children and am breaking an awful generational cycle, intentionally everyday. I spent the first years of motherhood beating myself up because I wasn't the "perfect"mom. You're ahead of the game, congrats on that❤

I wish my daughter would take some tips from your book. I find it extremely hard watching my entitled grandchildren put her through the wringer. I’m a boomer mum wondering what the hell has happened to ‘common sense’ and a bit of boundaries around behaviour.

@skullingtonfly ive be subjected to see what happens to my cousins children, and they are entitled and bratty. She doesn't discipline unless people are there. It's an act to her kids and she doesn't have control

It will still be hard, because it's weird how your instinct to act like your parents is SO STRONG. But starting the way you are, will make your mistakes easier to get to go away. I wish I'd started watching momma cussses before I had my kids. But they're still young and I'm getting a LOT better because of these videos.

I agree with this 💯. When I hear people tell young parents to enjoy every moment cause it goes so fast, I always cringe a little bit. I've seen parents who spend way too much time trying to capture every minute of their kids' childhood and make every minute photo perfect, that they forget to enjoy the journey. Ive seen parents who are so affraid to let their kids grow up and be independent that they raise kids who have not grown up to be responsible adults. My kids are grown now, and I can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute of motherhood, but being a grandma is hard to top!

60ish days from being a human mom, mom to 3 cats. I was in a 2 year long distance relationship with my now husband. I would leave his hair in my shower drain for about 2 weeks after he visited me. Yes, that's kind of gross, but it was a sign that he was here, that he isn't just a voice on the phone or a face on the screen. That time apart helped us grow individually, but not apart.

I wish when I was growing up, my mom was like you. It's long and complicated to explain. Although I don't have human children, this made me emotional thinking about my own childhood.

That was heartfelt and I was right along there with you... Unfortunately, just when you think you've wiped your last bottom, along comes grandparenthood. On the bright side, though, at least you can hand them back.

I'm going to miss sleepy middle of the night snuggles. I'm not going to miss dragging my 8yo kicking and screaming to school because he stayed up until 4am reading. I'm going to miss the bump of my daughter's umbilical hernia after her surgery next year. I'm not going to miss the 3 years of disrupted sleep before my son had his adenoids out. It's okay to just survive the crap parts and be glad when they're over.

Gwenna, this is my first long form video I have seen of yours! Your short videos have a place in my heart, and this one hit me right in my emotions. My daughter is 5 now, and tjis made me think of how much she has grown, all the memories of her. It also made me think of my own mother, who was so exhausyed, all I remember is her trying to push me away without teaching me anything. I will cherish the good memories, and try to heal the little girl inside of me who's Mom does not reach out and make sure I was taught and cherished. Time to check out your podcast 😂 I mean this from the bottom of my heart, you are a treasure, Gwenna!

I think we all need to just enjoy the moments we have that bring joy. There are many moments or ick, gross, boring and rage ones too. But to stop and enjoy the laugher and joy in the moment is all i strive for.

Yup. I never understand it when old people tell me that one day I'll wish they were still little. I see each stage of my child growing up, and I am ecstatic when she figures out something she's been building all her skills towards and it finally clicks! I don't want to keep her at the age she's at, because I want to see her become a full person. She's not a doll for me to show off. She's a person learning how to be herself.

I love this! I have been caught up with my youngest in trying to cherish every moment. But some moments aren't very cherishable. Lol some moments I'm ready to let them pass. And then there are moments that I wish could last forever too. The moments of cuddles and kisses and bedtime loves.

As a former mommy, and now a grand-mommy, (person raising grandchildren) and a grandma the teenager that finally realizes that they still need you for something and that you weren't full or crap. Usually Happens between 18 and 20. I won't miss the day they turn 13 and tell you they are grown and they don't need you anymore. Thats when I start charging rent and laundry service and non academic taxi services. 13 is when I decide their time doing extra chores are worthy of being paid for. They are aloud to babysit, help neighbors with yard work. This money is for going places with friends buy extra clothes and school supplies. I only buy the basics for school. The approved supply list. Pants, tops, gym clothes, Winter coat that shes not going to wear cuz its not cool or makes her feel fat, and, Gloves that shes going to cut the fingers off of. Everything black. Wednesday Addams is big around here.
