always verify everything u can. had a dealership say they put air pressure in the tires and torque them to spec. I checked, they OVER pressured the tire and UNDER torqued the wheels.

In a well known Japanese brand dealership my husband saw they cracked the intake air hose and the mechanic we called to.put it on saw than they unscrewed bolts from the upper mainefold cover to fill the car with too much air . He told us not to drive the car too much because it should blow the head gasket!!!! Son He tight it up as he could he ordered a new one and wait for delivery 😢

My A/C Compressor Belt snapped 100 miles after visiting a local repair shop for an unrelated service. I didn't think much of it but since I've received many factually inaccurate statements from this shop. I investigated my A/C issue and a large clip holding 2 brake lines is slid back 12-18" from its original position and wedged under my A/C Compressor Belt Tensioner. It's literally impossible for the clip to be in that position without rotating the tensioner and manually moving it there. All to say, yes I'm sure some shady mechanics tamper with customer cars.

Just took in 2013 Jetta sport wagon tdi. Won’t crank after sitting 2 days. Starts every day just not if it sets 2. Checked battery on 2nd day down to 11.19 volt. They told me it is the intercooler. They were going to replace the intercooler. She the service writer is reluctantly going to check back with the mechanic.

I once had a 2008 Infiniti M35X and the dealership unplugged the radiator fans which caused the car to overheat and cracked the plastic radiator header tanks and costed a few hundred dollars to fix at an independent shop. It might be a dealer sabotage.
