Personally I think we should have a flashback series, there's so much lore to do with the diamonds that has barely been touched on, a show with them as the main characters would be amazing and answer so many questions
That would go so hard! I actually thought of something similar when I was rewatching Steven Universe for the 63rd time and I got to the part where we were first introduced to Bismuth and they were talking about all of the stuff that happened in the gem war, and I thought: “this would make a good spinoff series…”
I'd love a story about Rose would be extremely interesting. We would get more of a look at her thought process and see her development right side around. We've already had episodes in SU that would give us a peak into what it would be like and those episodes were really enjoyable(at least I liked it)
Unless we get a different answer, the secret inside the chest was that Rose was Pink. Think about it: It's closed in season 5 and when the movie rolls around it's open. Not to mention the question of what's in the chest was never broached apart from Steven trying that pink key on the lock in Lion 4.
I feel like if we got a Steven Universe Further Future, it would most likely be Steven just hanging around and helping with more minor problems and not something that could end the world
i think what you said is basically steven universe future, aka helping people but he realized in the ending that he should help himself instead of others. so creating a new future with your idea would be repetitive also i think steven's story actually ended so maybe a prequel or a spin off but a prequel about era 1 life on earth and homeworld would have many viewers
Here me out: more Jasper and potentially Holly Blue...? I don't want Steven to go through more terrible things, so maybe the conflict could be less... traumatic and just simple. That being said, I don't have the slightest suggestion for how to do it. (And yes, your hair DOES look amazing)
FOR EVERYONE SAYING IT WOULD BE BAD: We could see the end of Steven’s self growth journey as he continues to find himself and explore life. We could see had Garnet is handling Steven once again growing up. We could see how Pearl is handling not have Steven to look after. Maybe she’d call Steven every second to make sure he’s ok. We could see how Amethyst is handling not having her bsf around anymore. They were duo after all. We could hear about Connie’s life in college and see a continuation in Steven and Connie’s relationship. Which could lead to the weddings Garnet planned out. Which could lead to the weddings Garnet planned out. We could see how the townies are doing and how the gems have adapted to life on earth. We could see Jasper finally letting go of her grudge she’s held onto forever. we could see more of volleyball (pink pearl) and pearl. We could see Bisthum and Pearls relationship growth. We could see Peridot and Lapis relationship, maybe lapis is ready cuse now and a could see their fusion once again. We could see more of amethyst and Peridot. We could see Peridot adjusting to not having Steven around. We could see onion adjusting to not having Steven around. Ruby and Sapphire (maybe sapphire could get more songs). We can see Aquamarine and Eyeball either continue to hate Steven or let go of the fued and adjust to life on earth (including more character growth) we could see how the diamonds are adjust to their new life and how they are struggling/ handling it. we could see Spinels character growth and she’s handling not having a bsf friend but learning to be a good friend and she’s over coming her trama. lion..js lion. DO NOT WANT A CONTINUATION: we could a prequel on Pink Diamond/ Rose Quarts life. How she was treated by the diamonds,why she did was she did. Her trama she went through. Why she didn’t like home world. the life we seen through steven, more in depth and it lining up with what we saw (callbacks to the show) with it all leading to the birth of steven. OR BOTH.. (ONLY if the original cast wants to come back. OR if the find people who sound similar to the original cast.)
okay but hear me out: a lars of the stars spinoff. we could understand how colonies work, if there’s other planets that have life, what happened between lars and emerald. how the off-colors became friends. the story between the pearl and the ruby
It'd be super cool if we got a spinoff based on Lars and the Off Colors, specially since in the og show we didn't get to see Lars and co. escape homeworld, as well as see Lars develop as a leader.
With this setting we could explore more of the beautiful world they built with the OG series and discover more stuff about diamond origin and other gems. It would be wonderful
we need a steven universe spinoff show where the central focus is life in beach city now that gems are a much larger part of society. the crystal gems are still around and steven can visit or come back or whatever but i dont think they should be the main characters anymore. also we need to see lars and the off-colors adventures in space. we hardly got to know the off color gems at all during the main series, theres so much untapped potential there
If another show is ever made I think it'd be a great idea to make it about Pink Diamond/Rose's story, the gem society back then, the origins and formation of the rebellion, Rose's double life (emphasis on this), the gem battles, and the big war on the earth (when it was a colony), kinda like a prequel of the main events so we can get a full understanding of how everything took place and why rose did what she did, but idk I feel like that would take ages to develop a story like that. - or if anything center the storyline on Pearl living through these events, and how it affected her persona, since she's arguably the most complex character in the series.
I would prefer getting Pearl's perspective on the whole thing. I like that Rose/Pink and her thoughts are kept ambiguous and in the past, I don't really want to see things from her perspective.
A good way the show could come back if it’s not in the pov of Steven, maybe it could be in the pov of the other crystal gems and sometimes Steven calls or sends letters, and comes around to visit for some episodes, it doesn’t have to revolve around the original main character Or they could go into revolving pov, like every new episode it’s focused on a different character
i think if they were to continue the series, they have to move away from it being in stevens pov and a more general focus on all characters, whether he's there or not. the show actually still has a LOT to work with! like HOW did gems come to be? who made white diamond? what are the effects of the diamonds across the space? there are also plenty of characters that could totally be expanded upon more - jasper, volleyball, the rose quartzes, the DIAMONDS, the famethyst, the lapis lazulis, emerald, lars and the offcolors, you get the picture! which is another reason why i think stepping away from steven would be a huge benefit to the story and lore, or the characters learning to deal with things without relying on him. maybe it could build up to steven coming back or something!
Honestly there doesn't need to be any "conflict and resolution per say", IF SU comes back. It could just be a slice of life sort of show. My ideal "return of SU" is if we get random snippets into different parts of steven and connie's life. Of course there will still be conflict, but it could be based around their ordinary life.
If they have Steven and Connie get married have a kid and have Steven go into his adult life but still having to deal with his powers and maybe just maybe a new villain would be sick

A prequel would be the best option, there’s so much of homeworld and daily diamond life that wasn’t shown, it’s the most unexplored part of the show rather than Steven and the gems/townsfolk. I’d love to see more scenes with the gems+rose and see more of their dynamic. And ofc more casual scenes with the diamonds and their dynamic + Pink. Feels like a no brainer. We’ve gotten enough of Steven, and they’re very popular characters. It’d be the most successful at least.
I barely clicked on this video so I have yet to watch it but if we were to get more Steven Universe I would rather have some slice of life chill episodes. Like seeing Steven happily traveling around in the Dondai while getting through therapy on the phone, checking in on Lars and his crew, seeing what progress is happening on homeworld and possibly more information of what it's like there, antics with the gems and an episode of bismuth, lapis and peridot. I don't even want an overarching enemy or plot. Like imagine a small series equivalent to The Tales of Ba Sing Se from ATLA, exactly like that but 15 minute length episodes. That would be awesome

I don't really think a show coming back is EVER a matter of when it ends, but what it says while it goes on and lives and really what it can make us feel and experience. The fact that a show can come back isn't necessarely bad, what's bad is when it does and it's dry of new ideas or genuine care and love and persuits money which Steven universe never has and neither seems to be going on with this poster so to me, as long as Rebecca Sugar is on it, any Steven Universe content is welcome....and WB or CN dont get into it and ruin it
I mean, it could be that since Steven‘s voice actor is too old and the other cast members are too old to perform. It could be that we could end up having you know, Steven son or a family member or the gem hierarchy or the planet expansion or we could have the origins of Rite you know that rupee and pearl fusion or mite or rhodonite.
It would be cool! But I kinda agree I would rather have another canceled animated bring brought back (like idk INFINITY TRAIN,HUNDREDS OF OTHERS). I would like it, it would be cool but at one point some things have be gone and nothing good can last forever.
I don't think there needs to be another show but if there was it'd be cool if it were split into 3 perspectives Steven, The Diamonds and the Crystal Gems/Beach City. Crystal Gems PoV could involve Pearl and Bismuth's relationship, Lapis devolpment, Peridot development (a fun side plot about her trying to be the best Steven she can be), Garnet and Amethyst try to help out Jasper. The Diamonds PoV could involve flashbacks of their journey to become better set in between the movie and the end of S5, also Spinel development (idk she oculd have something to do with Jasper). Finally Steven's PoV could be about his experiences away from Beach City with the main conflict being that he one day wakes up looking like Rose, he can't shapeshift back to normal and he doesn't know why. Over the course of the arc or whole series he gets more memories of Rose until he sees the full picture and comes to terms with who his mom was as a person and finally move on at which point he returns to normal.
nah we need a spin-off, it'd be weird if they kept the story going with steven. Especially with how the story ended, the diamonds dissolved all their colonies and everything is peaceful and happy. There could be rogue gems sure, but I don't see how they meaningfully continue the same story from this point on, which is why we need a new protagonist and a new story. And I think jasper would be perfect, theres already so much to build-off with how the show concluded. Shes lost in this peaceful world with no one to worship and no purpose, shes been fighting for homeworld all this time and in the end shes just a villain in their eyes. she tries to integrate into little homeworld but is struggling leading that lifestyle after everything that happened, through some means she meets a rogue crazy gem who is trying to find purpose aswell, jasper accompanys her and she plans to create a new diamond. So much of era 1 and the creation of the diamonds and gem society are left a mystery, and this would be such a sick avenue to explore. I feel like they could make the show a lot darker aswell, im a big fan of what fiona and cake did where they didn't censor or try appeal to their old/younger target audience and instead aimed to be a bit more mature. We know the diamonds were conquerors and that they're trying to improve because of steven, but we don't really see the ramifications or the nitty gritty of destroying hundreds of civilizations, and how cruel they really were. And this sudden switchup from conquerors to pacificists could be a good potential plot point and conflict. Maybe the trio go on to shatter white diamond and try control gem civilization, in the end jasper realisizes the ramification of her actions and comes to miss the mundane life she had at little homeworld and she is finally able to find purpose in her own and fight back against the monster she created. Of course we'd see steven and friends, although maybe after a little timeskip, eyeball clearly has an fixation with jasper thats mentioned in steven universe but never really explored, but given their similar circumstances they would get alone well, and aquamarine could be part of that since they fuse to become bluebird. Plus can you imagine a jasper/ruby/aquamarine fusion? Like the eye, tear and nose gems? They were literally made for eachother. Could be some good character development given jaspers past with fusion. Anyways thats my idea, im sure theres a bunch of ways they could continue the story but i'd like to see something different then "oh heres steven, the galaxy is saved and everything is perfect, oh no! something bad happened somehow, lets go deal with that then grow even more"
Okay but what if instead of continuing the Steven perspective only, it’s a collection of other character’s stories and what they went through? I think that’s what I prefer. Steven’s story reached a nice ending but I don’t want to see that boy going through any more crap :(

It’s either a Steven Universe movie about roadtrip and getting back with the crystal gems and finally fixing his trauma or a Prequel about Rose and the gem wars , the rebellions . How the crystal gems life was like before Steven and the show ending with Steven being born. Even if the movie of Steven Universe did happen I think it will be a new voice actor cus Zach Callison (Original Steven) rejected the role of Steven in Multiverses (Game) replaced by a new actor (idk his name) but I wouldn’t be sad because the new Vc actor is still really good and they will continue because of the hype it’s getting these days.

If it does come back, I definitely don't think that it should revolve around Steven himself as much anymore. I feel like we got as much closure as we could get with his story. Some more stories surrounding the gems or more flashback episodes regarding Pink and her silly adventures/antics on home world would be nice.
The new season could give a little more consequences to the Diamands, like a new villain comes in and wants to take revenge on the diamonds for destroying their world or something. This idea could give more focus on the diamonds and make then have their own arcs, such as White being afraid to talk about her feelings since she went so long without doing so, Blue could have an arc where she starts to express anger a lot more because of the trauma she put Pink through because she still hasn't forgave herself, Spinel could be in the same boat as blue just on the other side of it because of her rightfully negitive feelings about Pink, Yellow could be the one that the villain hates the most because she made the order to destroy their world and no matter how many times the world had begged for mercy, yellow didn't care. Steven would join the diamonds in the journey to understand what the villain wants now. I also think the villain would be irredeemable because they go too far after trying to hurt someone the diamonds care about, such as spinel or someone else.
For me, id love an new su show. But i think it would be best if it followed new characters or a new protagonist. Of course i love steven and the crystal gems, but i think their stories have been told a long time ago. Su has a wonderful world to explore, is like to see something new from it
I feel like a homeworld rebellion to Era 3 that mirrors the CGs during Eras 1 and 2 could be a cool conflict to explore. The seeds are already there- we have Bluebird, Holly Blue, Emerald, Navy and the evil Lapis as gems who are shown to dislike Steven, and/or their purpose was disrupted by the new Era. Maybe they could be led by Morganite, giving us backstory for Rhodonite as well as a mirror to Rose Quartz.
I love this show with all my heart and would be overjoyed for it to return, but I don't really know what they would even do. The main thing I'm interested in is more about Pink Diamond, but I don't think that's very likely. And I'm also too attached to the cast to take the risk they won't return if it ever does happen. I was already upset enough when they couldn't bring Zach back in Multiversus ☹

in terms of the cast willing to return, while i don’t know about zach callison, the voice actors for the three main crystal gems (estelle, michaela, deedee) have still been going to cons together as a group! peridot’s va (shelby) is also going to a con with deedee, and there’s likely more that i simply don’t know about. the love for the show is still there!
I have no doubt that the voice actors and artists will come. Back. Magno Deedee hall, Zach Callison, Michelle Deets, Estelle, shelbey Rabara, etc. Enjoy this show way to much to miss another opurtunity to be apart of a new series.
I do think that there are heaps of ideas that could work really well, like maybe showing Steven and connie trying to fit in, with Steven being a gem and everything, or maybe some fun shenanigans wayy later down the road, like the gems trying to babysit their kids. I don’t wanna see steven go through anything traumatic at this point, honestly more of a slice of life thing that was kind of shown in future.

If anything else comes out of SU, I would like it to take place in the past, like in the days of pink diamond, or with us getting to know rose quartz in depth. The Steven arc alongside with his family is practically finished. Maybe if they decide to make a spin off they should make it about homeworld and potential proper redemption arc for Diamonds or something?
I wouldn't mind if we got more, but with a network that's not going to forcefully rush things and create open ended plot holes. We still don't know what's in the chest, and honestly, I need more Rose lore. I mean, we go from she's a great leader to she did all sorts of terrible things. I need more insight on her relationships with the diamonds and other gems she was meant to lead from her perspective. At least 1 episode or something. Like I want to see the physical action of what she did to cause pink pearl such physical harm. It was dropped and then we just have to assume a tantrum caused that. But I feel like it was something else. And I want to see an episode of how the Diamonds and other gems were affected by the act of them losing pink in the beginning. Whites denial and mental block anything was wrong and she'd come back, yellow's hard demeanor and Blue's sadness.
I think there’s a lot of good potential in a prequel show; maybe even more so than another sequel show. I’d love to see other alien races that had their planets destroyed by the gems. Or you could just do a sequel show and have the plot be another alien race coming back for revenge on the diamonds after they’ve changed their ways, which gives Steven room to do his Steven thing. Another idea I have is a video game. Video games are my favorites form of media. I think it would be super cool if we got a full-on prequel video game based on the Gem War. We could get to see the war in detail, and the hierarchy of the rebellion, Homeworld, different gems that were part of both, and their roles could be further explored and fleshed out. Not to mention the potential for a variety of gameplay styles with different character using different weapons. Rose, Pearl, Garnet, and Bismuth could all be playable, along with brand new characters they could introduce on the side of the rebellion. You could have some awesome boss fights against corrupted gem monsters, or even familiar characters like Jasper or even the Diamonds. And then obviously fans would want to play as other fan favorites like Steven, Amethyst, and Peridot, who weren’t around during the war. So characters like that could be bonus unlockables that aren’t part of the actual story mode, but could be playable in some sort of free-play mode similar to the Lego games.
But actually i think it would be better bringing it back with a conic/game or something... Something that could touch evere aspect that wasbt explained in the series, i think it gives more opportunities
