I first was introduced to Steven Universe by a roommate in his mid 20s when i was 26; this roommate actually had only a few wks prior offered me, a complete stranger then, a place to stay with him too, for as long as i needed. This was in 2016, and i quickly became hooked on the show and watched all the steven bombs with him over the next several yrs :3 And we werent the only adults we knew watchin it; and we watched several shows like it even before he had a kid of his own Sugar intentionally made SU so it wud be both exactly what many kids wid need and wud be able to connect with; but also the same for many adults, by nvr makin it feel too childish, even in season 1, and showin that they cud, like a few shows before had managed, have a bunch of actual overarchin plots play out even when doin an episodic style show

@@SylviaRustyFae I mean, the show starts off pretty childish but it absolutely escalates as it goes on and adds in more and more and more stuff for adults to relate to, in my opinion

@@thevarietychannelofyoutube4769 I mean, even at the start when its more childish; it still has Frybo and Cat Fingers as nightmare fuel to hint at the fact this show is gonna go to some dark places :3

@@SylviaRustyFae Yeah, I've seen a lot of the big R rated horror movies of this decade and I'm not kidding when I say that seeing someone turn into a blob of screaming cats messed me up more then anything in those movies. I disagree with something that looks more disturbing then many R rated horror movies being appropriate for kids just because there's no blood or cursing, ill just say that
