@@gainthailand Well it depends, is the leader charismatic or not? Hitler was, and what he envisioned was beneficial for the German people after so long of being stepped on and punished for a war that they didn't even start. Though of course this lead them to starting a worse war and killing millions...then again Communism did worse than that and people still support it so...people are kind of dumb.

I’m from Myanmar. The military seized control of our country since Feb 1, detained our leaders, killed and arrested many, many innocent students and citizens. But, we will never ever give up. We will fight for our country and federal democracy. This song gives me a lot of energy to start my day. I will fight for my country till I die. We fight and we will win.
The leaders you defend and describe them as democracy are the ones who practiced discrimination and terror against a sect of your people just because they are Muslim. They subjected me to the worst imaginable torture, abuse and displacement from their country, and the rest of the people did not speak from other sects only because of the difference in religion. Can we take a moment to admire how beautifully written these lyrics are? The way the words flowed together is nothing less than impressive all while conveying a lasting message that truly reflected those who were singing it. The only drawback is that the song is fairly short, but I can’t think of any songs that could top this one.
Note: by saying the structure is simple, I do not mean that it's not brilliant. It takes a hell of a mind to put that much meaning and flow into such simple verses.
Every time there is a big protest or movement that takes to the streets this song gets a fresh wave of comments and it's amazing to see pages of history written in the comment section

Today, Sept. 4th, 2020, Belarusian students of Minsk State Linguistic University were beaten and detained by the riot police for singing this song within the premises of the university. Can you imagine it?! Please let's spread the news about what's going on there and show them all our solidarity. Long live Belarus!
So I hate to be that guy, and I am by no means calling FAKE NEWS or anything, but the linked story says they were singing Le Marseillaise (the national anthem of France) not Do You Hear The People Sing from Les Miserables. This does not in any way demean or lessen the atrocity that is that story but if we're going to spread awareness about these things, it helps to be as accurate as possible about them.
@@antonyduhamel1166 Ah, of course, completely forgot about that detail. Yes, somehow nearly all proper news outlets got the information we had sung the anthem of France instead of this song. Thing is we were initially planning on singing that, but in the end there weren't quite enough of students with us who studied the language itself. And since the entire uni knows English pretty well, we decided to go with this as an alternative, which is just as fitting and powerful imo.
"Do you hear the people sing? singing a song of angry men, it is the music of the people who will not be slaves again!" My mum: *ASLAN!* get off that table now! And give me that French Flag!
Democracy is dying now. Politicians are hungry for power and wealth. We, people are starving to death. We put trust on you but this is what you(Politicians) give us. I love the Chinese people, from America, I dream of a world where we can all live free. Our own government is catching up to how awful the CCP is. Honestly, "The blood of the martyrs will water the meadows of France!" is honestly my favorite line in this song. Just the fact that it implies that every single person who died for the revolution will not be in vain and that their death had meaning to their cause. Even if they die and will not see the life and freedom they envisioned, the revolution, and by extension France, the country they love and fight for, and for the people they fight alongside with, will one day bloom and thrive from the soil their blood had nourished.

@Soft Girl lmfaoo yes they do they have the right to loot from corporate stores not from small business. they are reclaiming labor that has been robbed from them, stop trying to act like only small business' are only targeted when thats clearly not true and its billion dollar companies that are being looted are the vast majority. Looting IS protesting, Looting IS Redistribution.
@Soft Girlyeah i did and ur simply avoid the facts u idiot, u realize ACAB is an expression not a group right? just like antifa isnt an organized group its simply a movement, again im not condoning looting small business but the majority of the looting is targeted at large corporations who deserve it, it seems you care more about looting and the loss of material wealth rather then the genocide of black people that has been led by the police in this country, ur trying to be a fear monger while avoiding the actual cause of that crime, your shifting the blame to some perceived bs libertarian free will where we just judge people for the things they do even if the things they do are a natural response to conditions they've been subjected to.

David Del Pozo Filíu It will eventually get better. One day freedom will win. Or the world will just collapse. there is no such thing as complete control or power. Some governments just doesn't realize that. The governments' attempts to gain complete control over EVERYONE will result in the human instincts of the citizens to just tear civilization apart or overthrow tyranny and corruption. We choose.
Vardaan Bhat Yeeeaaaaah. I kind of like civilization, so I hope it doesn't get to that extreme lol, The ones that are governing now are probably be defeated in the next election, the economical crisis is going to end eventually and things will get better, no need for violently overthrowing the system. I don't know how much you know about Spanish history, but long story short, every little attempt of democracy has gone wrong and lasted very few years (my personal favourite of those attemps is the constitution of 1812, maybe because of the context in which it was written), up until the 1978 constitution, therefore Spanish people doesn't have a culture of democracy, we don't know how to handle it, and how to make it work (and the constitution of 1978 was written in a very conservative manner, because it was just when a dictatorship that lasted over 30 years ended, and it was without a revolution or war, so the constitution was written with extreme care in order to NOT piss off the people who still had power, aka those who ruled during the dictatorship). So really, we just need a new constitution, adapted to more modern times, and time to adapt ourselves to democracy. The main percentage of voters were born and raised during that dictatorship.
In our struggle we fight not for ourselves, but for our children, and for our children's children, and for all who will inherit this world from us. When tomorrow comes, let them remember us fondly.
If only people who can go to the protests could start singing this with a few friends and will keep repeating it until everyone else joins in if they know the meaning of this song. It would be an awesome display of passive power and unity but I doubt that will ever happen since it seems more like a fantasy dream.
