As a fluent Cantonese speaker the subtitles were comedically exaggerated to perfection 😂 - 11:01 where the subtitles said “not even CPR can revive this dish” had me dying. But Edward’s mom didn’t actually say that - she said “maybe there’s something wrong with the noodle” 😂

I loved it when Edward was so happy each time his mom commented that he couldn’t wrap dumplings that well or couldn’t cook food at particular way. Even though she wasn’t complimenting him he was happy she really knew what her son could and couldn’t do. Pure comedy and wholesome video. It was awesome seeing how well edwards mom knew mike and Sheldon too.

LOL, it's probably because she didn't actually throw any shade. She only said that she knows the shape of the dumplings they make and that was not the same shape. Mike or Sheldon had some fun with the subtitles though hahaha

i would totally pay money to try mama ed's homemade recipe! legit been searching for a go to my whole life i've tried lao gan ma and many other popular brands, but they all taste lacking. i miss living in hong kong! from my own experience, when it comes to hot oil, no one does it like hongkongers :)

I love this episode so much! Already loved this style of video (guess who cooked for you), but now with mom guessing son even better. And having Edward's mom is even really cool. Really love her, always straight to the point (and therefore roasting the "sons" XD) She really knows them well and good observation. She gave Mike the greatest score, lucky Sheldon dish is just one point lower than Edward. Besides, like to hear some Cantonese in your videos. ^^

actually putting soy sauce on top of steamed egg is super common in china, every steamed egg ive ever eaten has soy sauce, and ive had this dish in a lot of chinese cities
