Being a former fish myself (some say still currently) I can 100% explain his mindset why he shoved. "I've made a flush, WITH A ROYAL FLUSH REDRAW, AND IVE now hit a straight as well. Im not folding $300 and being shown AQ or AT. Ive hit flush AND straight so if she has better good luck, but if I have best, I want ALL THE MONEY." In a way its what I call the fish tilt shove. They realise they're likely beat and are pissed off that the one time they make a big hand they still lost. They basically want another bad beat story to tell. To prove that they lose because they're so unlucky ie "After 4 hours play i FINALLY make a hand. I made a straight AND a flush in the one hand and this lucksack bitch hit her 2 outer to make a boat!"
@Its__Good

Haha - For sure. Even though the K is a bad card for him as AK fills up, you just know that there are certain players who think that somehow having the straight and flush makes you stronger. Like, when people hit '3 pair' - it usually just means you now have a bad kicker.

I started watching Brad Owen, Ryan Depulo, Rampage poker, and Crudh live poker 2 months ago. I finally started playing with real money on the $3 / $300 game at talking stick this past Friday and it is so true that at the low stakes games people play horrible hands and just throw their money away. I won $375 last night in 1 hour. I’ve caught on pretty quickly. I already figured out what your saying in this video

If you always bet a set on an A high flop then your checking range is too weak and not rich enough in sets. The check raise fell through on the flop and on the turn, many live players don't have balanced turn checking range as it's hard to cover the entire deck with one card to come afterwards.
@DominationRotation
@DominationRotation 3 года назад
@@onlyweatherlol93 Middle set is nearly always a bet on the flop, especially on such a wet and coordinated board. With top pair being unblocked and a lot of draws to extract value from, it's a blunder to go for the check-raise multiway. Regarding a strong check-back range: like Bart said, if you want to set the trap, do it with top-set, where it's unlikely someone flopped top pair, let them catch up a little and go from there. Yet I don't believe you necessarily need a balanced checking range in this specific multiway configuration. Whatever way you play this Hand, with the opposition being this fishy, the money's going in either way.

I see this happen from time to time in live poker. I have an idea about why. I think that certain players seek out the sympathy and validation that comes from getting a “bad beat”. It is almost like they want to send a certain message to themselves and to others, that their problems or failures are always due to bad luck.This can be so severe that they will make the pot larger in a conscious or subconscious attempt to make the beat worse. They sort of know that they are beaten and they’re very unhappy about it. This is why you get the commentary prior to the all In.

People at these games don't understand relative hand strength. Mainly betting flop because we unblock Ax. At these sprs, you want to start betting and build a big pot. he has A7 suited, 77, we shouldn't include AK in his range. Since we are getting 4.5 -1 on a call, we are never folding. And yes, people punt a lot in these games so I'm not even remotely surprised.

paranoid android / you are right. That’s right way to play. However, she is right (so, youre wrong!). Why? Because with your way of play in no way that spewy rec would’ve jammed it on river!!! Lol...He would’ve gotten scared and folded it on turn. Once again: the most difficult opponents are the ones who play their hands incorrectly, so your correct reading brings an incorrect conclusion! . With second set checking the flop with an A and a flush draw against 3 opponents?? What planet did she come from!
@brandondorsey7204
@brandondorsey7204 3 года назад
I agree that she played it terribly. She should have bet large on the flop, and she likely gets two callers (UTG1) likely comes along for one bet. Then she should have bet small on the turn to induce or at least make it seem like she was concerned about the flush. Then she sets herself up to jam river. She gets the same result imo, but she denies equity in case she would have gotten a worse run out.
@danielhurst8863
@danielhurst8863 3 года назад
Haven't seen the end, but screams QT of clubs. You check the flop, not defending against the flush draw and this confuses him. On the flop, he puts you on a weak hand. The turn check raise, though he's drawing dead, doesn't scare him because he has a flush and you are bluffing. You bluff again on the river and he shoves because it's not much more. He's not putting you on a hand, he's playing that he has a flush. He isn't worrying about you have AK or AJ or AA or JJ, all hands that you could play the way you did. He would have called your flop bet as well, as he had an inside straight and flush draw. You see this all the time at lower limits. It's recreational players who mostly play their hands, and don't even attempt to think what others have, much less what others may think he has. If he had AJ he'd have bet the flop. If he AK he'd have 3 bet pre. If he KQ suited he'd likely 3 bet pre. The only real hand you'd have to worry about is A7, but then he'd likely bet the flop as well.

@@mikemck4796 This is true, but in my experience players at low stakes have trouble understanding the relative strength of their hand, meaning they will often bet (or even raise) on the river with medium-strength holdings because they think they are holding a monster. If he had Kc10c he would have bet when checked to him on the flop and KcQc would have re-raised on the button before the flop.
