I competed in the ACC for 5 1/2 years as a decathlete / heptathlete and was fortunate to win an ACC championship for North Carolina State my last year of college. I learned a lot through those years and feel very passionately about helping others progress toward their goals and dreams. Getting to Division 1 is a lot easier than staying there, but let's not put the cart before the horse. First let's get you there. The above workout will help you accomplish several things: you'll become more explosive, athletic, less prone to injury, flexible, and it'll teach you overall expectations when it comes to the length and intensity of weight lifting at the next level. I kid you not, you will probably be doing this kind of workout at 5 AM (or 6 AM) Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday during pre-season for your sport and then running to class by 8:45 AM, so you might as well get use to it! If you have any questions please feel free to comment down below.
Disclaimer: This workout is not sport specific, it is focused on general strength improvement. Also, it is just 1 of 4 workouts that I currently do per week. Lastly, I am just a human, so even I am constantly working on my technique in the weight-room, so apologies for any blemishes or imperfections.
Where do you want to go D1? What sport do you want to play? Who do you idolize?
Are you stronger than me? Cool. That just means you need to up the weight! Let's go!!!
