I do think people don't understand how terrible 14 returning in the finale would be. The last thing David Tennant would want to do is to step on the toes of Ncuti. He has had his time, and it was only 9 episodes ago that we last saw 14. So no, I don't see David returning next week. It would be awful, as it would lead to RTD having to resort to using him time and time again.

Has no one else noticed all the references to popular entertainment on TV? Game of Thrones, Star Trek, Strictly Come Dancing and many more, there's even a reference to Doctor Who itself with Maistro playing the theme tune. VHS video viewed in a time window. What else is a time window? A TV! The entire season has been about TV, from Stooky to the possible future of TV with the window. Memory is time, time is memory. I think RTD is moving Who into the alternative universe - the Whoniverse. All of this season has been about screens and what's on them. I'm babbling on but it all means something and there's going to be a huge twist at the end.

Here’s a theory i commented on another theory video: Notice that Harriet throughout the episode is seeming trying to influence UNIT and the Doctor to go through with certain things. Like she comes up with the VHS idea, She hesitates when the Doctor explains how he has seen Susan Triad all over the universe (Making a face like 'He knows about her, everything is falling into place'), The moment the doctor says "No, No i cant. I've been there once" refering to Ruby Road Harriet reaches over to get an iPad, then looks shocked and excited by what she's found out. As the doctor says "That night is so raw and so open, the last thing i should do is take a time machine back there". When they are in the time window he also says "That TARDIS is almost Solid, if time is memory and memory is time then what is the memory of a time machine" (notice how the Ruby Road TARDIS has the door left open). If a memory of a TARDIS is physically always there like a weeping angel then maybe animating a memory of a TARDIS of an open door lets Sutekh out and allows him to climb out of the time window (VHS recording) into reality. Susan Triad could be a trap to draw the Doctor to UNIT in the first place to investigate why she appears So that Harriet could use the Doctor's knowledge to find a way for Sutekh to Return. Like he became trapped within the TARDIS to regain his power and needed a way to be let out. Harriet also takes the task of enhancing the image of the TARDIS on the modified VHS recording after the Time Window Broke as if its a way to let Sutekh out to help her Master. Im sure most of this will all be explained in Empire but it still bothers me why we dont yet know the purpose of Susan Triad. She mirrors Bad Wolf (words placed everywhere to allow Rose to get back to the future) and the Impossible Girl (echo versions of Clara along the Dr's Timeline to save him at every corner). I think she's more a trap by Sutekh or Harriet to lure the Doctor or as a manner to allow him to escape. I disagree with the people who think she might be a result of the TARDIS going wrong in Wild Blue Yonder.

One thing to note: the voice from the darkness(fog?) in the time window scene starts responding only when Ruby asks... I hope there are mind games as in the pyramids stories😅. Also the Maestro said something like: "There is something very wrong about this creature" about Ruby.

It was 1975 I watched the original broadcast and many times since that why I knew Gabriel Wolf's voice instantly when he broke into Susan's speech at the telecast, also Sutekh can posses anyone including the Doctor himself which is why Harrat is piloting the Tardis.

Maybe “Kind woman’ is Mundy from boom? At the end of that episode it kinda looked like the Doctor lost his TARDIs key, right after hugging her. Maybe they need it to help get back control of the TARDIS or something along those lines. Maybe the new companion is Mundy after all, or some times-wimey thing happened and her face is also someone else’s face which is why the doctor takes that person to be the new companion, because Mundy sacrifices herself or something. I know the new companions arrival is intertwined into the Doctor and Ruby’s stories (RTD mentioned in the unleashed episode for Boom), so it could work?

Suthek was trapped by the fourth doctor in a time corridor. He needed the doctor to pilot it to Mars as the controls were isomorphic, so it may be he is still trapped and needs rescuing.....

The TARDIS is centre as the tease for the episodes title when they were revealed a couple of months ago so I wonder whether Sutekh's 'Empire' will extend outward through time? Kate Stewart said that the entity was wrapped in amongst the fabric of the TARDIS so he wasn't just a hitchhiker, he was part of it, so it begs the question where Sutekh really came from and how far back? I see others have said when the TARDIS landed on Krop Tor that The Doctor noted it sounded off, and we saw Mrs Merridew in WBY before we first heard the groan when the TARDIS started rebuilding itself. I hope RTD goes some way to explaining this, as well as just what on earth the opening credits have to do with this whole story too

i think ruby is a paradox, some relation to the doctor that was left on ruby road knowing how she was vital to the planet somehow and to ensure she was in this place at this time. Amy and rory where sent back to the 1930's! if they waited a while and had another child she would now be mrs floods age roughly. Amy pond, River song, Mrs Flood.

Ok, an update/change to a previous theory of mine: I think the Kind Woman is Nephthys, rather than Mrs. Flood; in mythology Nephthys was basically the “kinder” counterpart to Set/Seth/Sutekh, still a goddess of death, but also of childbirth. Maybe Ruby doesn’t really _have_ parents as such, but is a Harbinger of Nephthys as a child created literally by the god of childbirth?

I assumed the person in the robe outside the wasteland Tardis was Ruby's mum.

The mother in Episode 1, Space Babies is played by the Queen in Bridgerton. Rubies favourite show and the Bridgerton episode. Realities getting mixed up? If you've watched Dark Matter then you'd know that whatever you are thinking then when you open the door the reality will be like your thoughts/feelings. Just another wild idea.

What is the memory of a time machine? The Remembered TARDIS, fully functional >Doctor and co. escape and watch from orbit as the Earth dies from Sutekh's power and presence as brings the gift of death. >The Doctor, Ruby and Mel try and find a way to defeat Sutekh and track down a Kindly Woman From there, unsure. Theory; they keep the VHS and the Remembered TARDIS functions also as a time window so they can access Ruby Road as it was on the VHS rather than dead from Sutekh's Empire across time and space?

Kind lady Jodie? She did have all those extra doors on the Tardis (Tales of the Tardis link?) and I think she made a point of saying The Tardis chose it's interior vs The Doctor. She did regenerate into 14 and his clothes changed too.....The Blue light at the top of the Tardis since Jodie's Ghost Monument episode. EDIT: And 12 did say "remember to be kind" before regenerating into Jodie's 13 Doctor :D

This is just an out there theory! But what if the Doctor has been stuck in his own TV show since 1963? The number 3 has been used throughout this season. Maybe it's how RTD could reboot the whole show? It would place everything since 1963 as canon but then the Whoniverse could be time and alternate realities. Maybe he's been in an alternate reality since 1963? Maybe he's been travelling between reality's and not realised it? I think there's a big twist coming that will split the fans, kinda like finding out the first Doctor wasn't the first. The butterfly thing in the first episode seemed to confuse the Doctor, and since when does changing one thing in the past immediately change the current? If that was the case it would of happened in every episode. Maybe sprinkling salt at the edge of the universe has broken down the barriers between reality's? Just me rambling again, my brain working overtime.

Total speculation, but given this is RTD, the last mysterious woman I remember him having about *that has never been resolved* was in "The End of Time", standing behind Rassilon, showing her face, even with a tear running down her face as Ten is agonizing over what to do between The Master and Rassilon. Now, many speculate that was the Doctor's mother. I always thought it might actually be Romana. Either way... seems pretty kind to me.

If he is arguing with Sutekh in the Time Window room, the tardis is in the control room, and the tardis in the Time window room is behind him... but that is a similar position to where the other tardis was in there... the position he is in... the personal he is arguing with... is in the same place as Ruby's mother....

i really was Expecting you to go more in depth with the dialogue of the Empire of death trailer and get your insight into what it could mean.

If 14 didn't have a Tardis it would be more believable that he can't get there to help with these scenarios, but they did give him one so unless he's off-world they kinda gave themselves an unnecessary fault in logic. 14 could still get his happily ever after with just tech available on Earth.

"Kind Woman" is played by Sian Clifford, who looks juuust enough like a young Carole Ann Ford to potentially be playing Susan. I think we'll see that young Susan is the woman who drops Ruby off at the church on Ruby Road-whether or not she's her mother-and then when the Doctor goes to meet this "kind woman" on a far away planet, that will be old Susan played by Carole Ann Ford. EDIT: I'd like to add a crackpot theory to this just for fun. I do think that we are heading for a universal reset since the universe was already mostly destroyed by the Flux-referenced by the Doctor in Space Babies ("most of the universe is knackered, babes"), and Sutekh appears to be actively destroying what's left of it (perhaps when he's calling the universe "tiny, vile, and incessant" the "tiny" actually refers to the mostly destroyed state of it post-flux? but that's probably ridiculous). The Doctor realizes that, once the universe is reset, Susan will no longer remember meeting back up with the Doctor after all these years, so he vows to come back and find her, and then series 15/season 2 will see Sian Clifford coming back to play Susan, where the Doctor will finally go back to revisit her. Who knows!

What if Ruby is the Doctor's daughter? Think about it. They have gone out of the way to bring up Susan A LOT! and there was the random conversation with Kate: "You must have kids then?" and the Doctor says something to the effect of not yet. We know the mother is kind and pointing at the Tardis as a warning about Sutekh adding to the idea that the mother is a friendly character.... I don't think it is, but maybe her Mother is River and abandoning her child is kind of full circle for her.

In some capacity I think Susan is going to to be woven into this story... Too much investment in the "I Have a granddaughter" storyline for it to just be throwaway. Unless it was a plot device to make sense of the Doctor thinking Susan Triad was possibly his granddaughter.. Also (a bit like chekhovs gun) if a character is hiding their face it's because they'll be recognisable when they're revealed... So the reveal of the woman will be a "tadaaa" moment clearly

I Hope Sutekh takes out a major character and there’s a level of stakes for the doctor and co in this episode and I hope Ruby doesn’t defeat him that’s The Doctors Job

Run times mean nothing ....some episodes are 45 mins and Satisfyinh ....and others are 70 mins and don't work (Journeys End was epic but ....a few buttons resolved everything ....LOTTL was it was all a dream type of ending) so yeah no Sutekh being brought back to be thrown away quickly ....RTD2 isn't hitting it for me sadly
