Same as you, I liked this pilot a lot and enjoyed the idea of Bill as a companion AND NARDOLE THE SIDE-KICK! And please keep editing the "It's me! Nardy!" bit, it makes me smile

The daleks were fighting the movellans a race from a 70s episode called destiny of the daleks.... they were robots and achieved a stale mate as they were logical like the daleks.....

Moffat didn't stick around for series 10 because series 9 wasn't received well. Chibnall had been made the new showrunner at that point, but couldn't start the job for a couple of years. So Moffat stuck around for an extra year just to ensure that the show stayed on the air.

We also get a solid xmas special at the end of S10. With some really amazing moments.

I actually loved the monk trilogy y'all, yeah parts of the last one are slightly questionable but overall my feelings were positive. Also it technically isn't a three-parter, they're all considered separate from one another. I guess they are all very tonally different and written by different people so it almost makes sense

yea Nardole wasn't a companion, he's extremely smart so was more of a partner during his time than a companion.

Nardole is more of a “cybernetic valet” category of companion, similar to K9 or Kamelion from the classic series - or Handles in the new series.

I don't think his ark really finished untill world enough and time, the best part of season 10 was him teaching missy kindness and only after he completed that could he complete himself. If you see what I mean.

Tbh a gay puddle (of tears) is pretty much what I am after every Who finale. Nice to have some representation.

I'd expect a puddle to have at least a fluid gender :)

During the finale I was scared that they were gonna do the trope of killing the gay character, In movies and tv shows they never let them be happy. Then Heather turned up, and Bill turned into a puddle solace lesbian, and personally I think that’s beautiful

Who came up with TARDIS as a name! I suppose bc she was at an English school? Or maybe the translator just makes a similar acronym to whatever it would be in Gallifreyan

@@caitlin329 actually there's some debate about it. Susan originally said she came up with it, but other timelords who never met her have used it, so who knows.

@@caitlin329 She id not come up with the name Tardis, Gallifreyans use the word Tardis, more likely she came up with the idea that it stood for time and relative dimensions in space.

@@DaDunge That was something changed in later episodes -unfortunately lore wasn't exactly a major concern in early Who. So it sort of depends on how you want to view it.

Bill isn't my favourite companion but I'm damn near certain Pearl Mackie is the finest actor to ever play a companion.

So true. I love her so much. Probably because there's no dumb romance with them like there is with almost all of the other companions (except Donna and Clara with 12)

@@dimetrodonz Yeah I think that is something which makes it very strong, Nardole Donna and Bill are some of my favourite compoanions. I also like Amy, yes she had a short crush on the doctor but it really wasn't about him, and once they got that out of the way the Ponds were great.

I never liked her. Her whole character seemed to be “idiot that never shuts up about being a lesbian” she had her moments, but she didn’t ever seem anything more than those very few basic traits

My fav series of him is series 9, I Loved him in it especially Heaven Sent and Hell Bent

The war with the Movellans is outside of the time war. It's not explicitly stated that it's the time war in this episode. Only a war. Nit pick I know.

Reminds me of the first episode of the Ducktales reboot which has Lunchpad say "I'm a pilot" like ten times in the pilot episode.

In the lecture 12 is pretty much describing the "block universe" idea that _arguably_ follows from relativity (Moffat's clearly been reading some pop-sci :) - the universe is a 4 dimensional spacetime "block" in which all events already exist (everything has already happened - except "already" doesn't really make sense in this context. Nor does "happened". Or "has" :) and are "out there", waiting for the slice of the block we currently perceive as "present" to arrive at them. 10 kind of hints at the same idea in "The End of Time Part 2" when he says to post 4 knocks Wilfred "You were always this. Waiting for me all this time." (so rather than pop-sci, maybe it was inspired by talking to RTD). (the analogy using how film itself works - still frames passing before us so quickly we don't see them as single instants - was a lovely bit of writing IMO. Stories _about_ stories and storytelling come up often in Moffat's Who stuff)

The best thing was the Capaldi had improvised a whole lecture for 5-10 mins, and one of the background actors said it was AMAZING.... however it didn’t make it to the final cut.

I think it's the other way around. I've seen many people saying s9 is one of the best (which i think it is), while dismissing s10, so i think 10 is the underrated one, especially the second half of the season.

Thank the goddess that Moffat did do S10. It was phenomenal. Some of my favourite episodes, especially the 3 companions at the end of the series 😭

It was a good season but it didnt catch my eye until like 5 episodes in to get the style of the season and get to know bill but the special man I cried for sure

It wasn't Moffat that decided to make Series 10 later in 2017 than 2016, it was BBC Worldwide that ordered him NOT to do Who in that year and concentrate solely on Sherlock instead.

I think some people were also unhappy with the way the season was structured with all but one episode being part of a two or three part story. It's not much of an issue for people watching it on Netflix or whatever where you don't have to wait to see the second part but I think there were quite a few people watching it as it aired that didn't like having a cluffhanger every second episode.

That's possible. A lot of people also used to say before that episodes often felt rushed and deserved to be two-parters to do them justice, and I think that series 9's structure did succeed at that. I liked it. Oh well, I suppose you can't make everyone happy!

I mean this break was because Chibnall was originally meant to take over for series 10, but he got caught up with Broadchurch series 3 and didn't particularly want to inherit a Doctor. Moffat had to cobble series 10 together in 2016 at the last minute

Same I thought it was the worst season at first now I love it. And season 11 and 12 came out...

Daniel Henze yeh those seasons showcased that season 10 wasn’t that bad

Also it wasn't the time-war, the Daleks were fighting a classic alien species called The Movellans (there was a 4th doctor story about a war between the 2 of them)

thats what i always feel, like its the newest and fresh season even after other seasons, this still feels new
