Really love Bill. Twelve in this series has like the fiercest 'substitute teacher you had for one lesson and never forgot' energy. They're a great pair.

Everyone thought this would be a silly emoji run around. But it's got some really deep ideas on how robots can only understand simple emotions.

11:28 - If I'm not much mistaken this is a reference to the "Ark in Space" storyline from Classic Who. It's a 4th Doctor story, and long story short it's about the chosen and last human survivors of Earth on "Space Station Nerva" fighting against the Wirrn for control over the space station, human knowledge, and ultimately Earth. Anyway yeah, there's a character called Vira and she's First MedTech, and in this episode (S10 E2) Steadfast calls himself MedTech One. Capaldi once said the Ark in Space story is, or is one of, his favourites. I agree it's really great, many remember it for the bubble wrap sfx, for me it's special because they were the first Classic Who episodes I ever watched.

maybe a weird comment but Capaldi's hair was so fantastic in season 10!

Fun Fact: The writer of this episode, also wrote 'In the Forest of the Night', so as you can see, a massive improvement over his first episode.

I like this episode a lot - it's a "traditional sci-fi" kind of story, very well executed by the writer, cast and crew.

You'd think this is a guilty pleasure fun episode but it's a really good story but definetly not the best of s10 as this whole season is fantastic.

I never actually saw this episode. This works pretty well as a substitute until I manage to watch it properly.

That editors note to past FailWhale gave me a small laugh during a terrible time.

Wasn’t keen when this first came out. I didn’t hate it, but didn’t adore it. Now I do. Because it has so much meaning and got to explain to bill a bit more about the doctor.

I like this episode a lot. The robots were cute and creepy all at the same time. Also I absolutely love Bill!!

Throughout classic and new Who the Doctor often encounters these human Arks escaping from the dying Earth. Sometimes the Doctor sees that Earth.

You must watch a very disturbing 7th Doctor story called "The Happiness Patrol".

Fairly bog standard but a hell of a lot better than I remember. It’s a neat idea, but I always think they should have run more with the smile for your life angle.

I really liked Smile right up until the 'Vardi are alive' twist. It just felt a little much, and I think the episode would've benefited from an extra 10 minutes or so. But it looks and sounds great, the ideas it explores are interesting and the Bill/12 dynamic is great here.

I feel like this series and onwards focused on making the finales awesome and the in betweens not so special....a bit filler like. This series is good though

Honestly I felt disappointed with this one when it first aired after an okay opener...Bill still annoyed me a fair bit sadly... and the Emojibots/rush endings felt....off, for me anyway, it was okay with great concepts but overall this didn't do it for me... Series 10 overall gave me that feeling ...Dr Who by numbers as opposed to ambitious scale storytelling....just how i feel.

This season marks a personal decline of Who for me. It was already waning ever since Clare and the whole "unbearable testosterone" jab the season before. And if Jodie had anyone else writing, other than Chin Balls, she would have been great.

I love this show but have you ever watched Riverdale if so it is so good but if not can you please do a reaction to it plz 💚 (green heart)

ah now i remember why i stopped watching season 10. The politics. ep 1 - LGBT ep 2 - why does he get two and i get one, sexism ep 3 - racism ep 4 - racism and LGBT ep 5 - sexism, racism and lgbt as a gay man myself, i hate how they forced it down my throat. It gives the LGBT community a bad name and really makes me feel embarrassed how it portrays us in some regards.
