8mm cine film taken by director Gerald Blake at Nant Ffrancon, September 1967 during the BBC's filming of the Doctor Who story, 'The Abominable Snowmen'.
He seems to be a very friendly person who worked well with the actors and production team, the surviving episode and other materials seems to indicate that the whole serial was well made and received in a positive manner by the 1967 audiences.
It certainly was well received. It even allowed the executives to give the green light for a continuation of this serial, after many rewrites it eventually became the serial we all know and love (and desperately want episode 3 returned) The Web of Fear!
@@TheDigitalApple Yes many people are taking about it been in the hands of a collector in Australia, however the thing that I often think of is if the prints that did make it back to the BBC in 2013 had to under go a lot of physical repair work and then digital restoration to get them back to the quality on the DVD 📀 what condition is the print of episode 3 in after 8 years in private hands 👐
