DOCTOR WHO "The Giggle" 60th Anniversary Special REACTION!!! 

Ncuti is absolutely PERFECT. He is going to be everything we didn't know we needed. He is gonna smash this role and I'm soooooo ready for it

At this point, my head canon is that Tenant's Doctor eventually goes on to become The Curator from the 50th anniversary special.

Ncuti got the tie collared shirt and undies ... which means David is 100% commando in those trousers for that scene!

This was a great sendoff for the first two eras of Who. 1-14 was always running, even the breaks he got like his 24 year night with River, is marred by the fact he knows its temporary. They have lost companions, his granddaughter Susan (and seeing how he only left galifrey with her, probably lost a child at some point.) And as the Toymaker points out, even though they didnt all die, they till lost them. So getting to stop and have a family is perfect end for the version of him. And Ncuti Gatwas energy is fantastic. I am VERY much looking forward his run. Which i believe they have filmed at least 2 seasons of already. Im very glad Dr Who is back to a consistent level as while i enjoyed stuff from the Chibnal era, i enjoyed this more than I've enjoyed Who in awhile.

I think when he's going to Mars with Rose or New York with Mel, it's really for fun and no danger. It's the Tardis that usually get him to the danger to save people. So because there is another Tardis and everything, the 14th Doctor's Tardis must be on "Only fun" mode

15 is from the future, he has lived as 14 for a very long time. Maybe even a million years like he says in Wild Blue Yonder. When 14s time to regenerate really comes he will essentially vanish rather than a new body appearing and the new body is were and when we meet 15 at UNIT HQ. "We'reTimelords, we're doing rehab out of order. I'm fine because you fix you self"

Since the old Doctor's family apparently contains two UNIT members ("Mad Auntie Mel" was already working there, and Donna will probably accept Kate's offer and join as well), it's reasonable to include some Tenant cameos in a UNIT spin-off

I loved it. It was the first regeneration where we didn’t have to mourn. NPH was amazing! And Ncuti…I am genuinely looking forward to seeing him continue as the Doctor.

The Spice Girls scene was definitely my favorite. That and the hug. I'm excited for the future.

The Giggle was perfect. This was truly the first of these specials that felt like a celebration of 60 years of Doctor Who. I loved the framing device of John Logie Baird and the invention of television. Really reminded me of that episode from series 2 about Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. It had all these great callbacks and mentions to so many characters, most if not all of whom are no longer accessible to the Doctor like Amy and Rose Tyler. Is it wishful thinking to hope that no mention of Martha means Freema Agyeman will pop up again soon? Even though it's very clear that she wasn't mentioned because she lived a happy life and their story didn't end tragically. Neil Patrick Harris was fantastic! I loved the switching of accents. Evil camp is always fun, especially when it’s as sinister as this was. And the “Spice Up Your Life” dance sequence. I still have no idea what the hell bi-generation means. I mean we heard from all the Doctors previously in the reboot that regeneration was super dodgy but making a whole new one is not a twist I was expecting! But this establishes that in a one-on-one-hundred-million-billion-billion chance, Time Lords can reproduce asexually. However how many times can the Doctor make a copy of themselves? The end fight with the Toymaker had the frenetic pace of Ten's fight with the Sycorax way back in 2006. I loved Ncuti’s energy. He really felt like a showman, much more than the other Doctors previously. And because they said he processed his trauma, Fifteen seems like he’s going to be a Doctor who is having fun and not haunted by his dark deeds or running from something. Which is a Doctor RTD never gave himself the chance to write. It's like Fourteen was supposed to go on this journey of trauma healing and at the end regenerate into the happy and fun Fifteen but the Toymaker got in the way. That theme for Fifteen that Murray Gold wrote is also phenomenal! And it looks like we have another RTD mystery box on our hand with The Meep’s boss still left unanswered and now the Toymaker’s “The One Who Waits.” Let’s face it, it’s probably The Meep’s boss. I love that Fourteen’s costume got split between the two so Fifteen spends the entire episode in underwear! But because he got the shows, not only does Fourteen speed the entire 3rd act barefoot and commando, which is hilarious in and of itself, Fifteen feels even more naked. Donna’s “Do you come in a range of colors” is perfect because it addresses Ncuti’s blackness without making it a big deal. _Because It’s not!_ I love that they let Ncuti keep his true accent. I love that we didn’t have to say goodbye to Tennant again. Not really. That scene of him having lunch with Donna's family, really his family, was just perfect and I'm happy that his last words are technically, “I’ve never been so happy in my life." You can really hear Tennant’s Scottish accent on “wheelchair accessible.” It really feels like they are setting up a UNIT spin-off. And I am here for it! I need it to be Kate, Shirley, Mel, and the Vlinx, whatever the hell that is, and maybe Osgood (fingers crossed). So there is a digital novelization of The Giggle and it revealed some really interesting things. For instance, the time between Jodie's regeneration and David and Ncuti's bi-generation was just over 15 hours, which is how long it takes for Time Lord regeneration energy to dissipate and they can self-heal, which RTD was established way back in 2006. And that the house Fourteen and his family are having dinner at is his house, that he owns. I also saw a really great theory that Ncuti's fifteenth Doctor went through all of the rehab and rest that Fourteen is going through now. All the Toymaker did was bring that forward. So to close the loop, this theory said that Fourteen won't regenerate again, he'll just die because his regeneration happened out of order. The Doctor’s bi-generation means that if Michael Sheen ever played the Doctor (hopefully as Sixteen) then Sheen and Tennant (as Fourteen) can share the screen. And honestly, at this point, I think that would be the only thing I would ever want David to come back for. Put Tennant's incarnations to rest.
