DODGE DURANGO: RACETRACK TAILLIGHT SETTLEMENT 

Would be great for a recall for the racetrack taillight for all models after 2014. Free of charge with a (COMPLETELY UNDEFECTIVE SEALED) unit!

The problem is, if you have a crack, water gets in and stays in and burns it out. If it had a channel for the water it would help to salvage the filament. It's the standing water.

I own a 2016 Dodge Durango RT, and I have water damage on the lower left side of the track light for some time. I have seen a lot of other Dodge SUV's on the streets with the same problem, and I mean a lot. Thanks for the heads-up on this issue, I will look into the info you stated. I called the dodge headquarter and told them about it. they told me to bring it to the shop and have me call them while there and PAY half of it. WHY do I need to pay half of it when it is the water and the seal ? It should be a RECALL!!!

My taillight has gone out. Even my radio is blinking and hard to control turn heat on, back up on camera comes on when driving. No recall this is a hot mess for either problem. Thanks for posting this

I have a 2021 RT and I've already had one replaced under warranty. It was definitely not fixed.

Took my 22 durango in for this issue. Came back with the interior panel cracked near the trapezoid shaped panel in the middle. What is that panel used to access?

My 2014 taillights were full of water so i drilled a small hole in each bottom corner to drain them. Some permanent damage in the bottom but it hasn't spread and the strip still mostly works 🙃

I just called two dealer about my 2018 Durango track light to see if it’s covered under extended warranty and they told me it wasn’t.

I thought based on the description that there was a settlement? I had mine replaced by a dealer twice I didn’t have to pay out-of-pocket but now my third one is going too same thing. I was hoping that this was finally settled and I can get it replaced once and for all

I have a 21 RT, so far, no issue with the taillights, I am watching it, but I noticed I have a fog lamp out, upon closer inspection there is moisture in the housing, going tomorrow to get that fixed hopefully, and get the whole thing replaced...so apparently the taillights are not the only part susceptible to water intrusion.

I’m in the process of doing that now smh. In my area it’ll cost me 2,000 dollars to get it fix. Thanks for the information 👍🏾💪🏾

Yes finally. I'm on my second one that has failed for a failing tail cluster led.

So I got 2019 Dodge durango rt I had it for about 3 and 1/2 years and I started to get that tail light issue. I found some quick fixes on some web sites letting the water out but it was to late.. what do I do?? Was looking to call Dodge or mopar.

In my opinion they should have a rubber seal or gasket around the entire taillight to protect it

I have a 18, leaking on both sides, I tried to seal and they won't replace unless I pay for it. Heck give me the taillight, and I will replace... easy to do.

Just cost me $ 1400 in my 2018, with only 55,000 miles. Not covered under my warranty cause it's considered a lens or bulb.

My 2015 has a stress crack from the top all the way down the bottom right near the word Dodge. The Dodge dealer ignored it even after I told them I was getting water inside when I washed it or if it rained. Even my driver side headlight was taking in water in the same 2 scenarios I even showed them pictures I had been taking and they " didn't find anything wrong" other issue they have is the windshield cowl. Mine rubber strip is 90% gone and $300+ for a new one even though is starter to fail around 2017.

My 17’ RT left side is retaining water… just noticed after checking monthly for 4 years lol also my AC is now making a hissing sound. Ugh

I luckily havent had an issue with my 19 SRT tail lights. Im afraid I may at some point but after 4 years I figured id see some sign they would go out and they arent so I may have gotten lucky so far.

Alex I have a 22 durangoRT plus only 12 200 miles and it was changed 2 x times already. Waiting for lease to end to get 25 acura mdx type s.

They don't make it easy to replace it. My first was over 2k. Luckily, I had a warranty.

My last one an my current Durango has had the water in the tail lights an caused my racetrack light to partially out/dim in on the left side. I got the Mopar warranty that covers electrical parts an all they told me it was a wear and tear item and was not covered I explained to these idiots its a sealed unit it aint like you just replace the bulbs

No water in mine but dash says my rear left turn signal is gone but it works perfect.

My 6 month old ddsrt had water in the right rear light already . BUT it's under warranty .

I made a report on the BBB website and nothing was done.

If there is a class action lawsuit, there be a recall for all... That would be a costly expense for them and I'm sure they will fight it.

Bro i have a 2021 with that issue thank god its a lease and covered under warranty. Its when water gets in the taillights. Im also having issues with my blue tooth when playng music through my cellphone

Hopefully they fix this. I’ve been getting water in the left side and always have to unscrew the bottom left bolt and the water comes out

I put a complaint in about my taillight in 2020. I called them and went through a whole process so they knew. I have 2015 Durango and it was fine for about 3 years and that’s when it started getting moisture. By 2020 there was dimming on both sides.

Yeah my 21 has 28k miles and the twilight on the right hand side has burned out smh. Wish they didn’t leave 21’s out of this lawsuit smh.

My '22 has a dim section. We need that recall asap!! It looks like shit with part of it dim.

My 2020 R/T with 55,000 just started with dimming in a section. Wtf I didn’t realize it would cost so much to replace. I love my vehicle so I’m really disappointed that this going to be an ongoing issue I’ll have to deal with.

Please, i got a 2014 i was lucky the first time, and now the tail light broke again, and the warranty ran out its alot of money 💰 to fix it

Mine went Completely out for 3 days after a car wash. Now its just the bottom portion not working. I tried to get this covered under my very expensive extended warranty. Nope, Because the part number is a light they said nope they dont cover lights. My dealer tried 2 times with them and still no. Dealer said they have not seen this covered under any extended warranty companies. I also tried to explain to warranty co its not just a friggin light bulb thats out. So we sealed it ourselves. Taking the light off the foam gaskets were perfectly fine Except a small amount of dirt on the top part of the gasket from the water/ dirt getting in there. Other than being a very thin pad they were in perfect cond. We sealed with a thicker flat foam strip on top of stock foam gasket and all across the top we used rtv and a round rubber rv foam tubing Also sealed around all the rear lights, top and edges with rtv. I was surprised at the amount of gaps there was where water can get in . So far no water of any kind.

We had our 2016s limited changed. It was covered by lifetime chrysler maxcare Warranty

And why not create a leaking mech for the water by default. My first on didn't have remarking damage.

I have a 2017 Durango R/T and the fall of 2022 4 or 5 months after I bought it water started getting into my center race track tail light and me and a friend took it off and resealed it with windshield sealant and it lasted for about a year and the last couple months it started getting more water in it again so I just got a new center track light and luckily I got 30% off of it but the msrp price for it is $1450 and when water first got into the old light the leds flickered but after I took the old one off this last time the foam seals around where the reverse lights are looked like water was going in around them on the right side which is where water was getting in and sorry for such a long comment but I have been dealing with some issues with my center track light the corners have been fine

Myself, I would rather have some help with the 3.6 pentastar oil cooler, and lifter/ rocker/camshaft failure issues. Just drill a drain hole in it.

So does this mean the 21 and up are fixed? I was asking the service guy today at a Dodge dealership and he didn't know crap. All he said was they cost 1600 bucks so they should of fixed it.

Got a 2021, issue NOT resolved. So we can drop that dodge fixed it. Didn’t fix a damn thing.

I am laughing at these comments you're screaming about a measly 1200 and most of your vehicles that's if you don't have an RT is 60 Grand and up what was the point of buying the vehicle Mercedes-Benz headlight 600.00 a pop that's 1200 right there and we're not going to talk about their breaks and they have a total recall to get it fixed for free don't buy the vehicle going to have fun paying for it someone was just trying to get paid for a simple malfunction vehicles are built in 2 hours nowadays you're going to have problem😂😂😂
