Does Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Look BAD?! - ZakPak 

I absolutely agree. Don't know why so many people hate on the graphics. Already now the game looks fantastic, especially the wall and floor textures. Looking forward to other trailers and the final product.

I can tell that Luigi has more facial expressions in the new one and his mouth movement is more fitting with the voice lines this time. I can see that the HD version looks more crispier than the original. The mansions have more detail on them to me. I feel if it’s taking a year to complete, it’ll look similar to the final of Luigi’s Mansion 3. The visuals will most likely look way better once the game is finalized. I also hope they bring over the first game too

7:05 EXCATLY. Many people don't understand that if it weren't for 2, there wouldn't even BE a 3. Also to say this game had an impact on the series is an understatement. Not only did this game sold TWICE the amount of the first game, it brought elements that were later expanded upon in 3(themes, meter, King Boo's Design), got a arcade game made by Capcom, became Luigi's final smash in Smash bros., and is still reference to this day in games like Mario strikers Battle league and the Mario + Rabbids. 4:25 I don't think their going to do that much with it. 3 had a way bigger budget than this and was the big title of 2019, this is a remaster of a game on the 3DS much like the 3D-all stars, I think they know that this is going to sell either. Though it is weird they push it to the Summer where we usually get the big holiday titles. I feel May would make more sense since its back-to-back with the Mario vs Donley Kong remake and Princess Peach Showtime. So unless there's some big surprise happening with this game, I don't really understand why they would do this.

If LM2 looks like how it does in the direct and costs $60 then I’ll be so mad

I was originally hoping this game (being my favourite of all time) released in jan-feb but looking back I’m glad it’s next summer considering how u mentioned the differences of lm3 and if they do the same with lm2 this could be on par or close which I would love!!!

Im not going to lie this is my favourite Nintendo game due to nostalgia. i might be blinded by it but i feel like im not due to o remember how fun the gameplay was. Oh well i guess we have to see. Edit: i just want it back i sold my DS for the OLED model 😢😭

Its a remaster of a 3DS game. It never had a chance at looking as good as 3. Graphically, its essentially a gamecube game with upgraded resolution and textures. And I, for one, thing it looks fantastic for what it is. They did a really good job on the visual enhancements.

Great video, completely agree. I think LM2 was a good choice for a port as it has been the one that has been represented the least (as LM1 was rereleased on 3DS and LM3 is obviously their latest installment) 9 months to a year until it comes out is plenty of time for them to make good on how the game looks, I trust them!

The game looks fantastic, I never played new moon but I’m excited for this game. Luigi’s mansion three was a fantastic game! It’s about time we got more Luigi’s games on the switch!

7:04 I feel like its because the ones responsible for Luigi's Mansion want to have a feel for the franchise as a whole before tackling the first game, I grew up with Luigi's Mansion 2 for my childhood while also watching and dumping hundreds of hours in both footage for Luigi's Mansion and Gameplay in Dark Moon. I personally cant wait for Dark Moon to release, dumping over 500 hours as a kid in that game and ill be able to relive those 500 hours once more is something i look forward to, hell, i never was able to even 100% the game to this day lol If i alone am THAT invested in Dark Moon alone, i can tell you this, if they mess up Luigi's Mansion? Then EVERYONE will make sure they remember it, so i feel like they are working backwards before remaking Luigi's Mansion so they can get a feel for what the fanbase has always wanted, the perfect Luigi's Mansion remake is just that thing, a long awaited idea, something fans have wanted for years. If Luigi's Mansion was the "perfect game" in terms of Story and Gameplay, Dark Moon perfect in Character and Aesthetic, and 3 perfect in bringing back what had made the series so popular, then they DO in fact have to get the Luigi's Mansion remake PERFECT, or they'll end up with another Luigi's Mansion 3DS problem, great remake, but it should've been done better and made on the Switch instead Thats what i personally think anyways as to why they aren't tackling the big wig of the Luigi's Mansion series, its to get the right amount of practice so they are ready to remake something that was so dearly loved, and still is, for so many years

On 2:22 the Luigi Mansion Dark Moon looks better but on 2:46 I could see on Luigi Mansion to HD that you could see more expression on Luigi face better overall they did an amazing job I can't wait

There are some blemishes but this is obviously an early build for the direct so I’m sure they’ll be fixed

Honestly, the game looks excellent. Specifically with the models for Luigi and the ghosts, they look so clean. Aside from Luigi's ugly Overrall straps (seriously, what happened here?!) It looks super clean. And seeing the original 3DS footage upscaled really shows how many little details have been completely redone. My only worry is with the Scarescraper and the price. Scarescraper looks hella choppy, and I don't really understand since it's been a decade (it'll be 11 years by the time the remaster comes out) since it's original release. Maybe they need better servers? As for the price, I don't want another DKC Tropical Freeze situation. If I recall correctly, LM:DM cost 40/50$ at launch. It then became a nintendo selects, so 20$. I think 20/30 bucks would be reasonable, 40 would be pushing it, and 50/60 would be too much. But who am I kidding, I'll probably still buy it because Dark Moon was my first LM game and I love it to pieces!

10:25 Zak when you said the barrel was broken at the top of haunted towers the barrel isn't actually broken they just made it look dark for some reason.

I like the graphics of Luigi's Mansion 2 on Switch. It's a port not a remake, in my opinion Nintendo did a good job with lights and textures. I'm just worried about the framerate, I noticed some drops in the multiplayer mode

Hearing that a lot of people don't like this game or hate on it for no reason makes me really upset, I grew up with nintendo stuff and this was one of the first games I ever played and beaten, and it is such a great game. It's also shocking that people think the graphics look bad, since the original had like 7 polygons and this has so many the round ends of things look perfect to the atom, and not to mention the reworked animations and lighting. Also the game has good level design imo

Bro I completed the game like 5 or 6 times when i was a kid, I can guarantee the switch version is LEAGUES OFF looking bad compared to the 3DS version, people just hate for the sake of hating and have probably never played the original game.

I can say my 3ds version did not look that good, it was much more pixelated. So yeah the version you showing is much more better than the original 3ds version I had. So the HD one looks incredible to me 👍

I dont think people are saying it looks bad compared to the original, but that its lazy compared to other ports on switch and other native switch games. Compared to the mario rpg or ttyd or mario v donkey kong remakes, it looks pretty cheap/crappy

It does actually look worse but with a better resolution and Nintendo added a dark holesome graphics on the stairs in gloomy manor, some walls, king boos crown and also added things that left the original games charm to history instead of porting the game faithfully! LOOK AT THE WATER ON THE MAP ITS GONE, ALL I SEE IS THE ABYSS. You can also tell that they took assets from LM3 for this early build Luigi is taller in the HD port instead of being hunched over by the weight of the Poltergust 3:20 Luigi doesn't react to the key until its fully gone? (weird) 2:56 They added wood cracks on doors that never had them 3:15 There is 3 slices in the dirt that lets you see the Abbyss under the world (also weird) 8:58 I get that its a remaster not just a port but they shouldn't add graphics that change the game's entire style into the 3rd game (because its not the 3rd game), its one thing to make the graphics look good, but to ditch the cartoon style of Luigi's mansion for the realism that the 3rd game? I originally played darkmoon, the og then the 3rd game and I just don't want to see all of the other styles replaced by the third games graphics which looks good but is wrong and unnatural. You wondered about the feelings of the fanbase on the HD port so ill give 'Em to ya! I love that we got an HD port but i just want it done right, while I await my favorite games remaster i cant help but wonder if they'll get it right. I don't want Luigi's mansion to be replaced by the third game which looks good but just isn't Luigi's mansion to me at all, we Weren't exploring a single home at a time trying to find secrets in an abandoned location we were searching a HOTEL and many different rooms that just weren't even spooky or that had that rural empty feeling.
