We just hit 110,000 miles on 2020. Only issue was the recall on fuel pump. You better learn how to maintain these or any modern diesel or you’ll be sorry later. Nothing difficult. Once you learn, it’s the best I’ve ever had in my life. At the moment I’m using redline diesel, 85+ in the fuel tank. in our new one, we just got sticking with the Mopar 5W - 40 oil until warranty then I’ll probably be switching to either redline or Ames oil signature.
I absolutely LOVED my EcoDiesel I had… Just wish I had done more research before I bought it because the maintenance costs are more than I was bargaining for.
@@richarde1355oil changes alone were $250+ (I’d change mine every 7500 miles). I was told from the dealership that Fuel filters HAVE to be changed every 20,000 and that was about $1200 (what I was quoted). The truck itself was phenomenal! Super comfortable, the diesel motor was quiet, and got great fuel mileage!
Truck looks really good in the Laramie trim, but I'd personally stay away from the ecodiesel given the shoddy reliability of it, I'd rather go hemi with the e torque package but thats about the only thing I'd change, great video as always Ben!
Honestly I own a 21 ram eco diesel if you know to take care of it it will last you a while I never had an engine issue or check engine light on my truck you just gotta know how to maintain it well.
They fixed the reliability with the gen 3 ecodiesels which are '20+. I love my '21 ecodiesel Laramie, pulls 8k 34 foot travel trailer great and I average 17 mpg towing it. 26 mpg without.
Break boost. It’s not as bad as you seem. It’s not gonna break your car or any car doing this once or 5 times. You’re just holding down the rotors with the brakes then letting off.
if you do it always yes it's bad. But once in a while it doesn't hurt. It's like putting lots of load on your engine (as it's trying to spin the tires but can't) so the parts get stressed but engines are designed to withstand that for short periods of time. In an automatic it could also fry your clutchpacks but yeah as i said. Once or twice won't hurt
Still don't see why dodge didn't use the 5.0 cummins instead of this garbage 3.0 ram needs to do get feed back from people that use a cummins for its purpose a buddy of mine got the a 2015 ecodiesel then bought the nissan titan with the 5.0 he sold his eco diesel because it was so inferior to the titan ram needs to only offer the 5.0 cummins the 6.4 v8 and the 6.7 cummins in the 2500 because I have unique situation were I don't need what the 6.7 offers but I have to buy them because dodge doesn't have another diesel worth buying
Idiotic comment, if you are looking for low end power for acceleration why would you ever buy an ecodiesel? That's not what it is recommended for, it is for mileage, and for that it absolutely DESTROYS that 5.0 in the Nissan. Towing 5,000 to 7,000 lbs I routinely get 18 mpg with my Ecodiesel, and I get 22 mpg without towing. No other diesel remotely comes close, and that's what the "Eco" part of "Ecodiesel" means. Also, the Nissan's interior is utter trash compared to the Ecodiesel. Nissan couldn't sell that truck with the Cummins because no one wanted it, so they had to drop it from the lineup. It was too expensive. The ONLY area where the Nissan beats the Ecodiesel is the low end acceleration. In every other way the Ecodiesel is on par or better than the Titan, especially interior and MPG, which is what people should be looking for in a truck anyway.
