Many of my clients want to know what the difference is between clarity and how much it sparkles.
Diamond clarity and color for a diamond ring are NOT the main factors that determine how much a diamond sparkles.
For example, diamond clarity si1 (that's right below the VS on the clarity scale) is going to have nothing to do with how much it sparkles. Honestly, it's all about how beautifully it's cut. And a beautifully cut diamond is really what's going to give it that fire and pops of color in the sunlight.
You can reference a diamond clarity chart, but the downside for the consumer is that any diamond that's a “fancy shape”, which is a diamond that's not a round shape, doesn't actually have a cut grade on the GIA grading report. Diamond clarity grading and Diamond clarity comparison won’t help you know if it sparkles.
