It's clear that she has a net negative effect on PS. You're welcome to make your case that she's lovely, beautiful, charming etc. If you do, don't merely say that other characters are worse, because PS is full of characters who are clearly bad people.

Except that it takes incredible resilience, tolerance, endurance, patience and fear management to be extremely ill, especially over a long period of time. That's when you are put to the test and discover strengths you didn't know you had. But in regard to paid work, yes, it is seen as a weakness. And certainly Johnson's point of view.

I honestly don't know. I suppose because it doesn't try to cast a wide net. It's a very niche show aimed specifically at British people and I'm guessing the comedy doesn't translate as well to other cultures. Personally I think this might very well be the funniest scene in television history. It's certainly up there, along with the Christmas dinner episode.
