Exactly. Anytime you hear Brandi doing a duet she is never trying to upstage or outperform the other person. I'm a die hard Dolly fan...and Brandi fan too. Love this performance

Oh my sweet Jesus. This needs to be released as a single ASAP! Brandi has a way of taking the road less traveled with her harmonies and little detours from the melody. Her choices are always flawless and she has added a new level of poignancy to this beautiful classic.
Why Dolly sounds FANTASTIC here! Brandi is a vocal Goddess. She sings with unmatched purity/clarity. Her clarity reminds me of Karen Carpenter and KD Lang. Beautiful resonance, power and large range.

When dolly pulled her in and held her you could just feel the emotion and my eyes WELLED up. It’s like when your mom or grandma knows you’re feeling emotional in the moment and she pulls you in for a hug and I felt that so much. 😭
During the final chorus I love how Dolly is singing mostly to the audience but Brandi seems to have totally forgotten about the crowd and is singing the lyrics I will always love you directly to Dolly.

My mother passed away almost 18yo and she absolutely loved this song. So every time I hear it I stop. This rendition is so pretty and it is so well done here, gorgeous♥️ Love you mom♥️
Brandi sang harmony most of the song, with the exception of the second verse, but that’s what she was supposed to do. It’s dolly’s song so she sang the lead. People put too much emphasis on who sang the big note or which vocalist is better. This was a rehearsed collaboration and the did it perfectly imo! Brandi is in her prime and her vocals are as pure as the driven snow, but Dolly sounds AMAZING, her clarity, pitch, and volume for a woman in her late 70s is unbelievable!!
Wow, that's utterly amazing. Dolly has always worked on being a character, but it's easy to overlook her amazing vocal and writing talent. I would loved to have been there to hear this in person

If you haven't already you need to check out Brandi singing "Angel" with Emmylou Harris. Even though Emmy's voice is faltering with age you will swear that 2 angels dropped down from heaven to serenade you.
Holy crap, this gave me the goosies, i felt the surge of emotion travel down my spine, and an involuntary tear fell down my cheek. I rarely get that sort of feeling in music any more. this was a brilliant duet!
Dolly Parton is without doubt one of Mother Earth's Illusive Angels. What a wonderful woman and human being, so generous, so kind, so supportive and definitely one of the sweetest humans walking the face of the earth. I would love to see her in concert though not a "country music" fan but do enjoy some of the music and would love to be a cowgirl.
This reminds me of my Mom and me if we could actually sing. My Mom dresses much like Dolly. And funny, I met Brandi in 2006 on an elevator when I was working for The Hollywood Reporter, she was going to Billboard to perform. Brandi gave me a CD. WOW I loved her music but never thought she would become a rockstar singing with Dolly. Awesome
