This song saved me from cometing suicide at that age of 15 years old thanx to God and Dolly ...... god bless u DOLLY ...... I'm now 17 years old and still going on with my faith and DOLLY 💋💋❤❤🔥🔥
what a perfomer, what a woman and especially what a singer! do not compare her Original version to Whitney's.... yeah, the second one is more powerfull and world will always love Whitney with this song and so many others of her own its just two different singers but listen to every Dolly's note! all of it is so touching and so professional and(!) so hard to sing
this song was the last gift my mama gave to me the day we buried her. i was waiting to be picked up and listening to a tape. well it didnt work so i flipped it over pushed play and nothing. my ride came then . when I got back home I pushed play and came the very last refrain "I will always love you" . I turned the tape back over and it played as normal. It has been 28 years now and this is still such a special song to me. Thank you dolly for singing this. I love your version best always
Dolly I have loved this song as it reminds me of my Husband who passed way, 1 month before our 3rd Anniversary, It has been almost 30 years without him, but I believe one day I will see him again.
I remember 10years ago, i was so unlucky to have double amonia and had to be set in medicated coma to get through it though it wasnt good... Luckily i got through it and my mom told me she played this song for me everyday at the hospital 😊😊 She is not here anymore, but maybe music got more power than we think😊 Happy new year 2024 everyone 🎉
First, I would like to say that both versions are awesome, but without Dolly's there would have been no version for Whitney, who made her version her own. All of that being said, I have loved this song since watching "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas". I still watch that movie and that part always makes me cry. I feel like Dolly's version was more emotional and heartfelt.
I consider the modern day singers as screamers….WH, Mariah, Aguilera…et al. It’s not pleasant to listen to for me and it doesn’t have Dolly’s heartfelt emotion.
Dolly...one of the most recognized figures in the entertainment industry....indeed the one and only Dolly Parton...daughters have been named after her across the globe!
3:23 even though it’s auto tune she kind of snapped here it’s one of the rare times she’s belted harrrddd!! She sounds so emotional here and I feel so nostalgic watching this even though it’s the first the time I’ve seen this performance. Dolly & Michael Jackson are two of the greatest artist America has ever produced national treasures
@@yesyes3392 There’s such thing as live autotune lmao ASAP Rocky uses it all the time. Cher use to use it when she performed Believe back in the days as well.
@@yesyes3392 she’s not lip syncing it’s autotune, you can easily tell the difference. Her lips match up exactly and her breathing matches exactly what she is doing. It’s a live pitch corrector and is only used towards the end of the song.
Best way sang in my opinion. I love u dolly parton. This song is the one song my momma and I loved to sing together. I miss u momma and I love u. Hope u are hearing this song in heaven
So I remember it was 89’ I was 13 just moved to tx coming from California and made friends up in Oklahoma while dad on a bizness trip so I flew up with him and visited friends us 6 girls having fun being loud then this song came on and I was like hey someone redid Whitney’s song and my friends were like ok caly dolly was the original so I listened and the car got very quiet and we all started tearing up and have loved lov it to this day her voice is weary when singing it the best version still 💙🦋
