I liked how this video explained the importance of knowing your students. Developing relationships is an important part of being a teacher and understanding their learning.

Diversity is such an important word in today's world and for the classroom

With us being teachers, we should be able to teach our students about diversity and give them a chance to understand the material.

Very good information especially the explanation on Cognitive areas.

This is a good explanation of diversity and getting to know your students. Diversity is where you also create a classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and enhances learning for all students.

Although I've never had Nigerian students in my class, I can share I had Honduran, and Guatemalen students in my classes. Diversity played a big role in my class, these kids were not used to our culture and had a shock. Needless to say little by little I incorporated them into participating in my class during cooperative learning. This one way of teaching for them was the key for them to fit in. Some were fast to feel included, while others took them some time....but at the end of the 1st semester they were fully included, 2nd semester I had then all engaged in my lessons and little by little I did away with cooperative learning, and focused on individual whole class instruction. So when it comes to diversity, I can relate to your experiences. I would have to cut down the lessons into segments for them at the beginning of the year, but once they got the hang of it things went smoothly. I must add that I really enjoyed the information in this video Mrs. Sauceda it was awesome

Domain 1 is worth 34% of our exam and we have to know research, theory and designing instruction and diversity for all students

We live in a diverse world. We live among plenty of different cultures and backgrounds and lives people live. We as teachers must be able to reach these different cultures and our diverse students and give them the ability to understand and master what we are teaching no matter the barrier between us.

Thank you for these question breakdown strategies! I recently started asking myself the Wh questions to find the key details we have to consider so Indont miss any of them. Who? Students of 5th grade, what? Social studies, informal assessment when? During, etc. it works well mostly but I even if I miss one detail, one key word, that can be the difference between right or wrong.
