Buckin!!!! Just wanted to say thanks for your amazing videos and outlook on life! Every night I look for your daily upload and can’t wait to watch and listen! Thanks partner!
Hey ,Bucking Billy been watching your videos since you first started making video's you inspire lots of people and teach many new things what a great guy keep up the greatness friend !! 💪
My father 20 years ago gave me his old home lite xlt from the late 80s hearing that saw run brings back some good memories. Now my old man myself both still cut I’m almost 40 he’s almost 60 and run sthil but we enjoy cutting wood together
All those saws are sooo sweet! Son in law picked up a Pro mac 10-10 for me where he lives, as a parts saw, for $20. He tried starting it, but when I got there, I flipped the switch the right direction. She fired, 1st pull! And cleaned up to an 8 or 9. Woo Hoo!
I love these mcculloch powers awesome videos...I acquired the 10 10 automatic and fell in love...I recently found out my great uncles in Norway Michigan made their living with Mcculloch power saws...and that Homelite!!!👍👍👍👍
I like the old saws but I love your old trucks that grey one there sure is a sweet looking truck. GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL WHO READ THIS AMEN. Happy New year
like,, Billy ray Smith powder mills @ the sawdust factory 😜💪👌 yesssss 👀 you just can't beat that "knife through butter" feelin' 😁 love that little homelite, it's got a nice little rip to it. look forward to seeing more of the UFO.... its good to get outdoors, if only for half an hour, it's great for your health in many ways, especially runnin' powder mills like that 😁 quite an addictive thing to do ill say..
Love it! Thanks! I have a 7-10 automatic that I simply love. Needs to be refurbed but it's next after I finish a little husqvarna. Love listening to a well tuned hot rod!
Love the mac content! That's how l first came across this community. I got a 10-10A starter on the clutch side. I rebuilt it and 19 year old me thought it wise to cut out the bridge between the exhaust holes in the cylinder. I didn't even make it to wood before it snagged a ring. 😭 But the surprising thing it still ran. So it is in pieces waiting to get rebuilt. Got a used cylinder that might work, but l want to get it re-plated/recoated before l use it.(l have spent way to much on this saw for it to be shelf ornament🤣🤣🤣!) Or l need to find a NOS cylinder. Its been close to 2 years now, and l cant wait to get it put together and bury it in some wood!! Looking forward to tomorrows video!
Back in the days of Blue Homelites and Yellow Macs every farm i ever worked on here in NZ had a Chainsaw and Firewood was a young fellers chore. In the 1970s Homelite were big here. Bloody good strong saws which were a bit picky about running when it was wet. The old points system hey. But boy you could dig them into a log and could those things cut! Love the content Buckin. I can smell the old 25 to 1 mix from here.
Looking forward to the tuning video. I’ve always left my saws stock, but recently bought one of those Neotechs just to see and they come really fat on the high end, so I’ve been tweaking it a little in on the hi jet each time. Thanks to your buddy the Tinman for helping me make sense of carbs. Powersaws have always just been another tool among the many I’ve used in my life’ and it’s not one I use to make a living so I’m only just now trying to sort it out some more. Thanks
Sure Is Great Seeing Them 'Ole Gals Singing Their Song, Great Tips B.R. Every-1 Here Have A Slamming Good Day From The Snowy Maritimes On The East Coast ! ATB T God Bless
I can’t wait for the tuning video I’m in the process of cleaning up/getting running my Grandad’s 2 old homelite saws and need some pointers on the tuning
Buckin' Ive noticed how consistently you have smoked most of the newer "state of the art" fancy pants saws almost everytime with saws 20 or more years older than yours. Yes, the old macs are some beasts but I think your filing and your tuning are the x-factor. Im a rookie but I see other power saw people doing comparisons between 800$ saws and claim one is better because it is ported or has muff mods. New chain this, new chain that out the box which is always sharp but if its not sharp in the right way, for the right wood, its like putting mud tires on a Ferrari. Which of course is going to wear it out faster than usual. My little 25 cc top handle saw whipped my 50 cc saws after i got it filed right. It was a valuable lesson.
Love it!!!! I'm looking into buying an Pro Mac 850 that a local guy is selling. Wish the price was a little better but that's why I'm looking and haven't bought yet.. hehe🤪 still would love to get ahold of an old P-51 to restore for my pops. It's was his first saw and i would love to gift it to him 😁 the time will come when it's ready.
My chainsaw piston looks like someone took a fill to it by the exhaust. I was trying to mill some post out of a leaning dry white pine. I don't think my Chinese saw had enough rpm's and was on 68cc. The white pine was already leaning caught in other trees when I bought property. It is one of the biggest trees on property. I don't want to see it go to waste. I did drop it on logs to keep it off the ground. And the size and area it's in means I need to mill it there. I used a 2x6 as a guide. Got 8 feet of a live slab before chainsaw ran out of gas. Put more gas in took a break. Came back and it ran till it wouldn't. Basically using a 150 for a super duty job.
Master Buckin' sir, have you ever done a video on tree species? Been searching and drinking gallons of knowledge here on your channel, but would like to know more about tree species, which ones are harder to cut, probable barber chair, etc. Thank you sir, keep it up!
Hey Buckin I've been watching your videos for awhile and love them, full of good info. Who builds your saws? And how can someone get intouch with them. Thanks
Buckin', why do you pull up on the starting cord sometimes when you shut your saw off? I am sure you have mentioned it in a video that I have not yet come across but I am curious. Keep the content coming my friend!
Buckin so far my biggest question is where do you get your "goofy" files with the beveled sides?I've been keeping my eye out but can't locate any in the small city I live in (probably walked by them or something who knows) thanks in advance and thank you for more killer content I love the UFO pipe from Morgan sounds great and looks so damn cool haha
@Buckin' Billy Ray Smith thank you immensely...growing up my dad and both grandpa's always had saws but they certainly weren't racing eachother or anything and I had never heard of Square ground or filed chain...having seen you playing with you gave my adhd more to think about and now I have to try my hand at the Square life
Whats the ratio between having your rakers the correct height vs having the tooth sharp? I.e. if the tooth is a little dull, is it better to have higher or lower rakers? Or should you not even fuss with the rakers unless the teeth are sharp?
Hello Mr BRS, why you pull little on the start rope, when you shut down à chainsaw, 🤔? 😅 To not brake the "start system" if the engine turn back!? Thank's you for make vidéo on your "passion work".
Hey buckin I hate to ask this question as I assume it's been asked a million times and then some If you have already answer it point me in the direction of the answer , but i do find it relevant to this video. What octane rating of gas do you run in your powersaws? Maybe the ethanol free stuff for the saws that set
Except for some real high compression cookie cutter saws, 2 strokes dont usually have to worry about spark knock. 90-91 is fine. 87 would probably be fine if you could find it in ETHANOL FREE. But most ethanol free "rec" gas is usually at least 90.
Not trying to get in your business sir. It depends on the size of your stove or fireplace. For me I cut my logs at exactly 15". I can cut them a bit longer but it's tricky to get them in the door. I do cut them at around 20 for a friend but his stove is a lot bigger than mine. Just find a split piece and measure. Hope that helps, sir and good bucking.
@@bubbaray575 yea I tend to cut around 16 inches, some customers have bigger stoves and want 20inch wood. I was curious because in the videos it’s hard for me to tell size
