Two comedy geniuses, Carrey and Rickles. As great of a Rickles fan as I am, I am impressed with Jims performance here, not many performers in the world could pull this impression off.
No, it's probably because this is after the main Wayans brothers were ousted from their own show, In Living Color was turned over to the white people, and it wasn't worth watching anymore. At least not regularly....this was hilarious!
This exact skit was born from Rich Little's spot at the Dean Martin roast of Don Rickles around 1975. He said that he had a dream that Don had been called to the UN to entertain and then did an impression like this.
See the Rickles impression is off. When the Czech said "I'm Czechoslovakian" when Rickles was calling him Polish, he should've said "What? That's better?"
I think Don Rickles would have liked it because he never took himself too seriously. Jim Carrey, on the other hand, would have probably flipped if the shoe had been on the other foot.
I now know where Jim got his foundation of genius, he recorded all roasts on his eidetic memory when watching Don Rickles. This act on Living color is almost perfect representation of the greatest comic to ever live. Jim may be a slight reincarnation of this God.
how did this one get away! it was funny - jim's phenomenal as an impersonator any way. '...a couple in the foundation of this building.' !!! funny. and when he ranks on african guy. thank you. i enjoyed.
I have all 5 seasons of Living Color and don't remember seeing this but other than that this was hilarious. "Mutombo....Translation his name is Leroy" LMFAO!!!
@@tenhirankei Don't feel bad, Clifton was Kaufman's alternative persona. Carrey played Kaufman spinning out and pretending to be Clifton. Three layered acting...
Mirabala19 Something (i think don't quote me) about Greek heros and legends having been in love with other men Ex: Heracles and Iolas Achilles and Patroclus (considered lovers) Apollo and Hyacinthus (Apollo had two other males in his interest but that went as well as all his other relationships) Also technically Zephyrus The West Wind and Hyacinthus since he loved him and was jealous of him choosing Apollo. Instead of confessing he though if I can't have him no one killed and is directly linked to killing Hiyacinthus by making Apollo's discus curve and hit him in the head when he went to retrieve it for Apollo. Sorry for all that extra babble, hope I helped though.
