DON'T Buy the Novritsch SSG10 Air Brake Pins before watching this!! [4k] 

You have to have a bb in the barrel for the pin to make a difference. The piston is now pushing against nothing in the barrel. Measure again, outdoors this time maybe so are not measuring the echo of the sound.

The air brake pins do work in the real world. They change the tone of the piston slamming forward and make it harder to hear. I have an SSG10 A1 with the short outer barrel, long inner barrel, Novritsch suppressor with the foam disk in reverse order, the 26mm air brake pin, the medium FPS adjuster ring, and the M160 spring. I run 0.40g bio BBs and get 350 FPS at exactly 2.3J. The gun is nearly silent and still super accurate and consistent. I also have the Tridos TDC 2.0, the Maple Leaf Autobot Silicone bucking which requires no warm up shots, the hollow buttstock is stuffed full of polyfill, the spring guide is covered with heatshrink to stop the spring rattling noise, and thats about it. Edit: Also, my inner barrel is the Lambda One 6.01 430mm NB stainless steel barrel. It's an exact replacement for the stock brass standard barrel.

Use second largest brake pin on my ssg10, I did lose lot of J ( don't know how many fps, in my country we measure in Joule with bb's that normally use on field), but in combination with silencer, it's deadly quiet... Literally, if you stand 2 meter avay from shooter, can only hear bb's that flying through air

@ Looking Cool is Not the Intention If you jump back and forth of the no air brake pin and the 29mm air brake pin you can hear the pop is quieter. ( Just to go from one extreme to the other ) I think you'll find it's the trigger mechanism when releasing the piston that is making the more noise. Still defeats the object of the air brake pin unless you make the trigger mechanism quieter. But not being there makes it harder to say 'That's where it's coming from' Just a thought.....

Can you test with a suppressor so you can test the noise of the piston not the sound from the barrel

You're measuring dBA at the wrong place... the gun itself will be the same loudness. It's the sound at the tip of the barrel that changes. The actual pop the gun makes up front. Coupled with a silencer it's tremendously quieter with an air brake.

I’m looking at either the SSG24 or the SSG10, which one would you recommend? I’ve been seeing issues the the SSG10 and I’m seriously considering the 24. I’m semi-experienced at teaching, willing to upgrade either as necessary. I know the A1 is significantly cheaper, but I’m willing to spend more on the 24.

Would you recommend the pins if a gun is shooting hot? Is the FPS consistent

Perhaps the determining factor for noise with your gun is not (yet) the airbrake? Dampening the mechanical noise is important for a spring gun.

Hey, do you maybe have a digital caliper to measure the airbrake thickness? I will try to 3d print the nozzle myself.

So your piston glide rings are not scratched ? Cause Novritsch`s support is saying that it is normal.

How did are you achieve 500fps on 2.2 Joules on your previous was something about 435fps after you adjust hop-up. To be honest I looking now to get one but thinking about M160 2.8 joules. Can you help me with suggestions for 🇬🇧

You know you did the sound test completely wrong right? Your sound detection device was picking up the trigger box sounds the way you had the rifle. You're supposed to have the barrel end closest to the device

I can confirm the airbreak pins do diddly squat for noise suppression.

The other thought that I had with these is that you should use it FOR the FPS drop. That way you can get a heavy spring and then drop the FPS to the Milsim or field your going to.

I already get suspicion when the Norvitsch Air brake pins video have no footage of the actual test fire like what they did to the silencer, now this just confirm it's performance can basically described as useless.

Can it be that the airbreak pins have no sound reduction because you tested the sound without a bb in the bucking? The sound of a gun firering is always louder when it is empty because there is nothing blocking the barrel. You can hear if your mag is empty by shooting. So maybe you should test it with bbs in the mag 🤷‍♂️

These pins came loose within a few shots for me and a friend.

I'm not sure about this but I think your test would have been better measuring the sound while there was a bb loaded and a heavier one would be even better. Also retesting the seal before you started would have been helpful. It might not do anything but it would remove more doubt in my mind. To be honest most of the noise of this gun comes from the piston making the use of a silencer purely aesthetic.

I know there is no point of comparison, but my well mb03 with the $35 Evike matrix power kit, sounds a lot less, it is quieter, about 75dba

But you mesure noise with no bb in . You can hear big noise drop when you mesure fps as there was bb in

Hey, Ok but if for example I use the 29mm pin which is the quiest one and I put a spring to be in 2.8J and 550 FPS (the MAX rate of Jules and FPS in Spain)?? As I have read in the blog of sniper mechanic cause im thinking to buy one day the W.A.S.P VSR10 piston... is it neccesary to put a big spring so? Will this make sound to be louder? not? Thanks!!
