Now 63 and an avid weightlifter, I’ve had rotator surgery on both shoulders within the past 12yrs. Recent pain in my left shoulder led to an MRI and was told I have impingement and a partial tear once again. Tried these exercises and I had immediate pain relief. I’m a believer. Looking forward to your future vids.

As a matter of fact this particular muscle group is the one that hides all the pain I tried stretching it in the doorway doesn't do much your technique works better and by placing your hand behind your head and stretching in the doorway on your elbow I found out that that is where it is frozen solid I've been working on this for days and it is relieving thank you

Thank you, your golden advice came just in time. Squatting behind my laptop I was feeling a tingling discomfort in my shoulder, which I attributed to heavy backpack pressure (bringing food from the store with a backpack). After just one round of your genius stretch this place feels much better. Just amazing. I am very grateful.

Excellent video! This guy is a great communicator. This and the resistance band for shoulder impingement is really helpful. I have a desk job and I'm an enthusiastic rower. Both activities require a similar hand position, so I guess it's no surprise I have an impingement on my right shoulder, which is my dominant side. I'll try these activities and see if it resolves my issue. Thanks Dr! Any other tips, I'd be grateful.

Dr. You a very good! Presentation and knowledge skills are quite high. Here’s the question: why such a limited content volume? My experience is that more content drives followers. Obviously more followers produce greater influence. One other thought: you obviously weight train. This is unusual. Your online contemporaries are for the most part much smaller/ muscular. You might want to consider this as part of your appeal. Hey, it's all about attracting and holding on to an audience. You have a great deal of undeveloped potential.

In many cases, yes! Very often tension in the anterior shoulder is a contributor to chronic neck issues.

Thanks so much Yoni! Awesome stuff. A little bit of feedback, and I hope it's taken in good spirit: I'm not sure if I'm alone in this, but I prefer a more natural presentation. I can tell that you're smiling through the video in a kinda fake and infomercial-like way, and it's a bit off-putting. The material and your ability speaks for itself - I don't think there's a need to ham it up :)

I've tried this stretch but I feel it more in my shoulder blades than my arm or chest. What am I doing wrong?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 2 месяца назад
Hard to say without seeing you do the stretch. It could be that you're positioned too far forward in relationship to the doorway, or that other tissues are so tight that they are limiting your ability to access the pec minor. Or maybe the form is correct - the pec minor does attach to the shoulder blade - at the coracoid process.
@stevenpaul5030
@stevenpaul5030 7 месяцев назад
Great video thanks Yoni. I have a lack of cartilage in both shoulders and this stretch agrivates my shoulders. What would be the next best exercise to stretch or release the pec minor please?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 7 месяцев назад
Good question. With degenerated shoulders I often resort to a low door stretch with the hands positioned at the level of the hips/waist.

Hi there, what about reactivating/strengthening the lower traps and serratus anterior? Doesn't the pec minor after the stretching not always pull the shoulders down and forward as long as the two mentioned muscles are to weak to oppose it?
@painfixprotocol
@painfixprotocol 2 месяца назад
You make a good point. And yes, in some cases, strengthening the opposing muscles may be necessary. One of my favorite exercises for doing that is in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZoewmAX-vFU.html at 05:40. In other cases, like with overuse - stretching & activity modification / changes in exercise selection are enough to restore balance.

Besides perhaps whacking it with a Gutenberg Bible, is there a way to get rid of the ridiculous looking "dowager's hump"? One appeared on the back of my neck about 5 years ago and every time I see it I want to take a mallet to the thing ... hope you have a means to the end of this, thank you

Dr. Yoni, thank you for your video! This hits home because of poor posture, my shoulders DO go forward and I have a slight "back hump" forming. As a result, I have VERY tight muscles in the shoulder area and chronic neck pain for 3 years. Have you ever had experience with this muscle being in connection with the C1/atlas going out of alignment? I've been under atlas care for over 2 years and they can't figure out why it keeps going out as much as it does after the adjustments. Thank you for any help!
