You guys did a pretty good, sensitive, authentic, and respectful rendition of this song. I really enjoyed it. I am 76. The first time I heard Bob Dylan sing I was a senior in high school. He sang a song on the Ed Sullivan TV variety show -- just a random guest appearance. They introduced him as a "folk singer." "Ladies and gentlemen, our next performer is a folk singer. Please welcome Bob Dylan." He came out with a guitar and a harmonica. He sang "The Ballad of Horace Brown." I thought "This guy is really different. This is not a folk song. He is putting them on. He is making a statement. They don't even realize. This is so cool. This is a song for right now. This is about the civil rights movement right now. This ain't no stinking folk song from the past." I was a fan of and supporter of Martin Luther King Jr. and later marched with him. Later that night, I thought: "Dylan (and others) are bringing the tradition of folk music into the present. This is important." I made a mental note to follow him. The next time I was in a record store I found his album "Free Wheeling" and bought it. This song, along with "Blowing in the Wind" and "Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" were on it. I "got it" as they say. It was so good I had to share it with everyone I knew. With that album he became the poet lauriat of my generation. As I listened to that record I and my friends joined my generation. My freshman year in college, in the dorm, Bob Dylan's songs were all we talked about. None of us had ever heard anything like it. And it just kept coming. He was so cool. In 1967, they did a documentary of his "Don't Look Back" tour of England. I watched it in a movie theatre. There is a scene of him arriving at an airport randomly holding a great big light bulb. An aggressive reporter rushes up to him and says "Tell us Mr. Dylan, what is the essence of your message." That is the dumbest question you can ask an artist. The obvious answer is, "If I could say it in a sentence, I would not need art." Dylan smiled, and was so totally cool. He said "Be good, and carry a big light bulb." All the young people in that theatre laughted their heads off. The older folks did not get it.

I once thought that I was a musician. That all ended when I found this channel. I am terribly critical of all musicians and though I tried to spot some sort of break in the rythym or a sour harmony or even a mispronounced lyric.I found nothing but shear devotion towards the song. You guys have that "lost in space" kind of look when you are into a song. It's a look you don't see very often and by only a few artists. All I can say is that I AM A HUGE FAN !!!!!!
@USNAVDC
@USNAVDC 9 лет назад
The Cockroaches North America you hit it with your "lost in space" comment! I really like to watch these guys play and sing because they get lost in the music and they love what they're doing. It's fun to watch and listen.
@rawstarmusic
@rawstarmusic 8 лет назад
+The Cockroaches North America Pick up the guitar again. Stop playing isn't a good solution. Fingerpicking with a metronome and ear training gives a better result. You should think, see it's possible to do this. Bob Dylan isn't this good so at least you could be as good as Bob. He did well with a simpler "homemade" version of this song.
@dragoonsk

Jozef Akantis I've watched his live performances and it's chord strumming. One is an american show about 40 minutes long but I can't see the guitar picking done on his recording. In my opinion Josh Turner would out-play him. Dylan would out-perform him in songwriting as he does with most acoustic songwriters.
@rawstarmusic

If, after you've practiced hard for 10K hours, you still couldn't make a living at it if you wished to.... think about relegating music to a hobby and enjoying it to its fullest. Perhaps your real talents lie elsewhere, and with the money you could make in this other field, let's say, you could take music to a level you might never be able to, without that good income. I consider myself a strong man who can handle most things but you two just made me cry. Absolutely amazing, but then I did something I should not have I looked at the upload date. You two must have been in your mid teens. There goes my music career I am just going to listen to you two and live a happy man.

For two young men to sing this with such feeling, I am amazed. Thank you! "I gave her my heart, but she wanted my soul!". I didn't learn this lesson until I was decades older.

You ever feel funny leaving a comment on RU-vid? Like it’s somewhat narcissistic that anyone would be at all interested in what a stranger had to say? But then you see something that moved you, and you feel obligated to document it? Well yeah... that

I love Carson’s sly smile towards the end. I think behind this smile is the thought and the happiness of knowing that they’ve got a really good take and that it could be THE take they use, and also he’s just really enjoying the lovely music they’re making together. Well I can say wholeheartedly that we are enjoying that music with you Carson.

Tulbih I guess Tulbih meant that "Dylan would be proud..." implied that Dylan was already dead. So I guess he did know Dylan was still alive and Tulbih just questioned your formulation. (I'm not English myself so I'm just surmising that that was his goal.

Been a fan of these guys about a year now. This was the first song I ever heard from them,, such a lovely cover of perhaps the best Dylan love song I can think of. This song moves my soul. These kids make me smile to listen. Many of their covers are beyond words fantastic. Please don't stop making music and I promise not to stop listening.

Jamie Brown -- Peter, Paul, and Mary, did this song in 1964, and it was absolutely beautiful !!! Those 3 always had incredible voices and harmony! They sounded like ONE Voice... Hard to do that.. And of course, all the credit to Bob Dylan for writing these beautiful songs way back then, too !

Your voices by themselves are great but when you both sing the sound waves collide and turn into a very ear pleasing totally different sound. Excellent spot on sound, you really are accomplished singers. Bob would be proud of you.

First time I heard Dylan... Circa 1963. Riding with my grandad in his pickup down a back road. Blowing in the Wind came on an AM station. I knew at 5 years old that that song was more than I could understand. But I understood enough to know that it was an incredible song. I would listen for it every afternoon for a good while after that because they played the same song list everyday. I remember thinking after awhile some answers must hard to find....

Not many performances of this song do the subject matter justice. This is not a song to roll through "a good cover". It means something. You fellas capture it just right.
