Sunshine, did I ever tell you Grace Slick was my favorate female singer in the 70s and 80s I have most of the LPs from Jefferson Airplane and Starship. I once had a 20 minute one on one conversion with Paul Kantner and told him so. He told me Grace was his favorate female singer too. So i know very well the music. You my dear would bring a smile to Grace's face I'm sure. You are wonderful singing this song Sunshine. I loved this so very very much. thanks for the memory of our past. Carl
forget Grace Slick......WOW !!.....Sunshine you just nailed this like the day it was released..an exceptional blast back to the past with this fabulous performance....Loved it your good Buddy Mike
A magical flower power trip on the Jefferson Airplane with Sunshine piloting the flight! Terrific song choice Sunshine, this one fits your voice like a custom made glove. Excellent power performance! This song is very vocally demanding, all of Grace's songs are. I heard nothing but 'balls' throughout this one! 1000 stars for the overall quality of this video, and incredible vocal.
Hi Sunshine Yes, way out!!! a tripping out version, lovely performance. Great powerful songs, you captured the 60's in this version. Big smiles Mark :)
Wow, Mark really must like this one! …. first, blasting it in his house and now rocking out the entire Bay Area! :)) Glad Mark had you give it a listen, Thomas, and that you enjoyed it very much! Thank you, thank you! All the best! :)))
It is always good to be back here amongst all my wonderful friends on the 'tube, Marilyn. :) Thank you for enjoying my version, nothing like reliving the past with some good '60s rock classics. My 4th was a good one and hope yours was just as wonderful! Hugs! xx
i was also listening when mark started blasting this great song loud ! lol its really really good! i can't say enough about how fantastic this one is. you out did yourself sunshine! melinda
I actually was on the phone today with Mark briefly while at work, and of all the songs he mentioned to me on RU-vid to be sure to watch, he really spoke up about this one. And it appears he was right on the money. What the heck? This one was rocking out the entire bay area tonight. Its so good, congratulations for such a great job. Blessings always and a salute to Berly! Thomas
Well the Sunshine is out today.....cause Sunshine is back....big time....awesome performance my friend.....love this song from way back then....what a sound, and you have captured it here with this cover.....outstanding.... have a great 4th dear one.....enjoy......Big Hugs .....Marilyn xox
Just when I'm praying for some sunshine to brighten up this dismal British summer here you are :-)A tremendous powerful cover Sunshine, you really put your stamp on this one, so different from your smooth beautiful ballads but just as enjoyable :-)
Aw, Jim…..hugs and thanks for the sweet comments!!!! Glad this one brightened up your day a little and hope your summers are now better. :D I may have surprised others by singing this one; sure is unlike the norm of what I sing, but it is nice to break away every now and then to experiment with different sounds and just explode! haha Hugs! xx :)
It is this type of '60s music that just pumps you up into another worldly illusion of sight and sound…imagining myself being in such a world (without the psychedelic trips, of course) but just mellowing out with a rocking trance …. thank you, Michael, for the wonderful comment…nothing like making old songs sound fresh again! Sending you and Ben my best! :)
hahaha….now, Mike, Grace was just awesome with those soaring powerful vocals, aside from the great Janice Joplin, but thank you for the compliment! You are very sweet! This one really got my adrenaline going! Hope you and yours are well and have a great weekend! :)
Wow, Sunshine...Groovy ! I'm sure even Simon would happily send you on to the next round. Saw Jefferson when they turned 'Starship in the 70's at the Garden, NYC. Grace's power complemented Marty Balin's smooth vocals.
Hello dear Margie, Always good to be back :) This song always gets me moving too! Love the music of JA …let's just say that SF/Haight-Ashbury was a lot different then as it is now…I really enjoyed singing this one because it is so 'fiery'! :) We had a great 4th, just took it easy…hope yours was wonderful. xx :)
Yes, Carl, I do remember your telling me that Grace Slick is one of your faves and that you met Paul Kantner…at the airport, right? You one lucky son-of-a-gun! How jealous I am for you to meet such a great musician as Paul! You're so sweet, thank you for enjoying my version!…love '60s rock! \mm/ :))
Trippin' absolutely! Thanks, Bob, for the sweet comments. You are very lucky to have seen the band…I wish I could have seen them when they were JA; that would have been something….Agree, Grace was just a dynamic vocalist of '60s rock; that signature voice of hers…wow… All the best to you! :)
Did I surprise you singing this one, Candy? :D I love to sing these rock songs; it just brings out another part of me, another type of music I love to hear but seldom sing. I do hope to sing more of the same in the future; so keep your ears tuned in! All the best to you for a wonderful week, Candy! :DDD
Woah, yeah, Mark, you got that right…nothing like a power trip with the music of JA! I've been wanting to sing this one for so long knowing it is one of my fave JA songs. I just adore Grace's voice and that spunk and fire she gives out when she sings…woah …. thanks so much for the sweet comments and glad you enjoyed it very much! xx :)
Mark blasting this song out loud? Uh-oh…I hope the volume didn't annoy the neighbors, did it? If it did, then I'm the guilty one! sorrrryy! haha Thanks, Mel, for enjoying my cover! Hugs! xx
Always good to be back, Carrot, with you and all my wonderful friends here. :)))) Awesome song, isn't it? Gotta do more like this! Gets my adrenaline pumping! haha Thanks so much; wonderful to hear you enjoyed this! Best to you always and look forward to hearing your next cover! :))))
Hey, thanks, Matt! Nothing like good solid '60s rock! Love to sing these types of songs and how I dream of doing a Janis Joplin song as well…I'll keep dreaming on that one… Definitely need to hook up again! You know where to find me. Rock on! \m/ \m/ :)
Cool. Neck and neck with Born To Be Wild and All Along the Watchtowers for the anthem of the late 60s (as opposed to the early 60s, with the whole folksinger thing).
Hi Nancy !!! I love making indie-short films and I want to use that song but the original is very strict about the copyright :/ so I searched and I found your cover and I have to say that it's so freaking awesome !!! May I use it in my film? Obviously I would give you credit of the cover :3
+DANIELogs3 Hello Daniel. I see by reviewing your short films that you are an aspiring movie director; good luck to you and continue to pursue your dreams. You are welcome to use my cover; however, make sure Nancy Cruz (bscorpio12) is noted in the credits and most IMPORTANTLY, to also note a disclaimer at the end of your short film with the copyright infringement clause. I'm sure you know the drill. I no longer am recording/singing and no longer have .mp3 files on my covers. If you can copy it, great. Please send me the link to the movie once the film is completed. Take care and have fun on your project! :)
