Zero Master just released his run of Episode 2 in nightmare in under 12 minutes. Shit is absolutely crazy.

This is my favorite episode. The first time we are introduced to the Cacodemon!

This episode has my favorite theme in all of Doom - a human installation that is gradually being corrupted by an evil influence and changed into something more sinister. It's very immersive. Also, the only episode where something changes on the intermission map.

I love the plasma gun so much in doom it truly is one of the best weapons and its handy to have early I mean I always do continues play rather than pistol start so for me getting it as soon as possible is always a must anyway cheers for the upload decino just finished a meditation and was looking for something to chill out with and then the doom God's blessed me with one of your uploads so great timing lol

I have been watching RU-vid for like 15 years now. Subscribed to channels and watched their stuff when I got the chance. I have NEVER opened it to watch a specific daily video until now.

Oh. The second episode of the best game in my childhood. Fun fact. I only had the shareware version of this game and on one of the computers in the computer lab this was installed. Just for the lolz, I selected the second episode and expected that message that you have to purchase the whole game, and then the level started. It was so awesome to finally play the rest of the game.

I thought you and Tim Doherty were the only ones doing DOOM runs now. I was wrong. Zero Master is doing Nightmare Max runs too. He's doing full episode videos and has uploaded E1 and E2 so far. Three great and very skilled DOOM players. Very nice to see all 3, to see how each tackles the game in their own unique way.

Everyone gives E1M1, attention but E2M1is a perfect little package. A little chicken nuggie popper with just the right balance of meat and basted flakes.

Man, I am *loving* the double Classic Nightmare action going on between decino and Zero Master lately. It's like getting a little treat from hell every day. 😎😈

E2M1 & E2M2 are fantastic maps. I'm trying to image what it was like for someone who played the shareware version and decided to mail order the full game. My first experience with Doom was the initial 3 episode game in the mid 90's but I imagine it was like playing Dusk where each episode was like: What in tarnation's goin' on 'round 'ere? New features in the first two maps: - weapon #6: plasma rifle - 2 new enemies (cacodemon & lost soul) - E2M2 goes from a benign shipping/receiving or storage area to wait why is there green corrupted hellscape all of a sudden with flying flaming skulls? - new songs in two different styles. E2M1 straight up metal. E2M1 a sinister WTF is going on tone which sets the mood for the rest of the game. - the red key secret with the map in E1M1 is genius to show yes indeed there will be tons of secrets in the full game too - boxes you can climb on! - walls can now damage you! - crushers!

Already looking forward to E2M6. That map will be quite challenging, because of backtracking and narrow spaces.

The plasma gun is just awesome. The chaingun works well enough for the usual opposition, but plasma just parts the masses. Also I love this level and its music track.

here it is! oh boy its gonna get more interesting! also just want to say at the start i just agro the demons using the windows on top then when i get near the teleporter they mostly spawn there because thats were they go and i mostly use that as my advantage to take care of the MOST of the imps and hitscanners and i do the same start what you did for the plasma secret

I love the music of this map. I have yet to find a cover of it that I like. Andrew Hulshult's takes the melody down a lot lower in pitch, which messes it up imo.

Good freaking luck with E2M2. That was my own cutoff point for Nightmare difficulty. It's so mazey and full of imps and pinkies that kept respawning on me, I simply could not finish that level without just making a beeline for the exit and doing the jump you're not supposed to be able to make at the end without the red key. And if that was how I was approaching it, I figured maybe it was best to stop while I was ahead.

Next map is probably my most favourite. My next would be E1M1, E1M5, E2M4, E3M2, E3M6, E4M2 and E4M6. Step by step, Master!

Yep, seeing the plasma blast away enemies is certainly more satisfying than the chaingun. Though both are fun weapons. Bring on the berserk maze.

100% of the items in this map is like eating chocolate cake. And yeah that bit about the plasma being your BFF in this episode. Zero Master used it constantly in his recent run of Episode 2

I love this episode. For a long time I only played the first episode over and over because I only have the shareware version of Doom. Then when I finally got the full version I was so fuckin happy. And also I was introduced to my favorite demon: the caco

My original thought in 1995 upon buying full Doom and finishing E2M1 after playing the hell out of the shareware was "oh', Cacodemon was nice but the level design felt disjointed. Don't get me wrong though, what a game! This was the point that I got a soundcard specifically for Doom, quite an upgrade from pc speaker!

The plasma rifle is always such a great panic weapon. I prefer episode 1 of Doom, but at least episode 2 introduces the Caco and Cyberdemon (and lost souls I guess).

Music on this map somehow is my favorite. Something about the overdrive guitar solos here really appeals to me. And I don't even like guitar solos in general!

After finish episode episode 1 I asked my dad to buy the complete full version of Doom in this case version 1.2 and being able to play episode 2 and 3. Fun childhood trivia: I actually did a pacifist run in nightmare mode yes nightmare mode in pacifist not to show off skills but for fun of course and because the map is so short and pretty easy and did finish it although in 1% health hype because the Cacoademons aka the tomato demons. The real pain was those Pinky demons in super ultra fast turbo speed if you're not careful passing by they will destroy you for sure. I might as well try this but this time instead of the pacifist route I'll do the opposite to see how my skills are going for fun of course.

This is Doom adjacent question, to anyone. What Doom stage would be cool for a proper Karl Urban / Doom sequel? I’d nominate Tower of Babel and film it like Dredd / The Raid.

Just wondering, is there a limit to the kill percentage on Nightmare? For example, if you just kept on mowing down shotgunners as they respawn and taking their ammo, would the kill percentage max out at like 999% or something?

Absence of super shotgun really hurts 1st doom.
