@@nanoacido5174 he was sent to where he wanted to destroy the enemy. But he just gave the father essence to Samuel due his survival skill being nessesary to protect it.
I love how the game flat out confirms that Hayden is the Seraphim without going into any more pointless mystery, like the Devs are acknowledging the fact that the fans had figured it out by now. Thank you Id for not treating your fans like morons, or paying any head to these lousy skeptics. Keep staying true to your vision because I am loving it!
Sometimes it matters more if a twist makes sense than if people don't see it coming. Better to be predictable but interesting than unpredictable and stupid.
@@AnakinFury you mean like the last of us part 2? Seriously though, I get sick of people who complain about predictability like it's inherently a bad thing.
I think they've done it in the best way possible. The secret was out, why not make a joke out of it. I giggled at that moment as it cought me offguard. They've made it memorable
@@doglamflar6617 I think he was trying to become the seraphim but maybe he ended up being suppressed or consumed by the the maykr? Idk, it just feels like a lackluster decision.
I am really unhappy with how Samuel Hayden, as soon as he got into the Seraphim body, stopped being this cool, collected, intelligent person and turned into this weird, coveting, weak otherworldly figure. I knew that he was the Seraphim since the base game but did they really have to do him like this? I would have much preferred if he and the Slayer remained uneasy allies and the Seraphim retained Hayden's personality.
I don't see Samur quite that way... He's a bit different but still feels like the same personality to me. People think of him as corrupt, but to me Samuel is a guy that always describes himself as in the right, for better and for worse. He tells the Slayer how knowledgeable he is and how he was so wise to bless him with power. He says they owe the Father and are getting the honor to serve the gods again. Is he being arrogant? Kinda yeah, but he's also not incorrect. He had loads of moments like that in 2016. "Our interest in their world was PURELY for the betterment of mankind..." "WE solved an energy crisis the world had no answer for..." "Without Argent energy it WILL be worse..."
He was forced to do critical decisions. Samuel had to get it because it was a power source, but he didn't factor in the dark lord causing trouble. The doom slayer had brought it with him after finding a single corrupted human still around that could of endangered the stopping of the portal plan.
hayden didn't strand the doomguy in hell, the tether brought him back and then he just sent doomguy away, they don't say where but he ends up in the fortress which likely wasn't in hell
I think Doomguy's beef with Samuel Hayden/Samur Maykr goes a lot further then what happened at the end of the last game: Doomguy has resented Hayden ever since he woke up. Remember that Hayden is still responsible in part for the events on Mars since all that shit went down on his watch, yet he claimed that he was going to take 'full responsibility' which he has yet to live up to. All that let alone the fact that Hayden has treated the Slayer like a pawn ever since the last game, feeding him half hearted words and only allowing Doomguy to carry on with his mission when he needed him. It's likely that Doomguy sees Hayden/Samur as nothing more than an embodiment of all the corporate and scientific recklessness that lead to hell invading his and this current earth dimension.
He sparred the father life force into Samuel, because it was the only vessel nearby to handle his good. He didn't realize that he was more worried about the dark lord due to his cause for being the one who controls demons, he was either controlling or manipulate those weak enough to it.
The game wasn't really designed to handle human 3D models. It makes sense because they show up, unobstructed, for only about 3% of the game, tops. Why would id waste resources on that?
There's one thing I'm confused about. In the first game, wasn't it said that Hayden was a human once who was transferred to a robotic body after being heavily damaged. Same thing happened with the guy you play as in Doom VFR. Did the UAC just lie to everyone about that?!
That and no one really knew anything about Samuel Hayden’s past besides that he graduated from Harvard, no friends or relatives or anything. It also mentions that the inner workings of his robo suit were complex and mysterious to the point where no one knew how it functioned but him. Tbh now it all seems like a really clever setup
so that explains it then, the whole reason that Dr. Hayden knew everything about argent energy, the demons, the portals, everything, cause he's the one who gave the slayer his power.
I like how UAC Commander seems to be prepared long-ass speech about Dr.Hayden is Seraphim at the whole time, Then Intern-guy just run in front of him and giving Doomguy the short explanation, which is Intern-guy known Doomguy better than everyone else.
I feel like ID have seen the comments about Samuel not being the seraphim (even though it's stupidly obvious) and have made it so blatantly obvious in this cutscene that he is
@@DeathDiety365 As a Maykr, I'm sure Samur is capable of getting himself a human body somehow and establishing an identity for himself, even if that identity involves a prominent family. That body, being mortal, could certainly get brain cancer (one could even speculate that the human brain wouldn't be able to handle housing a Maykr mind forever, so that's why the brain cancer developed).
What I don't understand is, if Hayden was the Seraphim the whole time, what was he trying to accomplish in DOOM 2016 with his obsession to keep harvesting Argent energy?
He was trying to make synthetic argent, he made a lot of advancements in human technology to prepare for the inevitable hell invasion both on Mars and Earth, in the end the hell crucible was the only thing that could power up earth defenses but the slayer wanted it destroyed, he became a liability to the whole mission so Hayden teleport him away to a unknown location, but most likely I think he teleport him to a sentinel outpost to retrieve the fortress of doom, the slayer can’t be at 2 places at once so the teleportation system was crucial... alongside getting Vega back online
I'm actually personally not a real fan of this. The fact that Samuel Hayden was originaly a "normal" human, so intelligent that he created his own cyborg body when needed, that he survived hell in Doom 2016 flash-back, and all the others informations we get about his human life and goals, where what in my opinion makes him a good and interesting character. I not saying that this is a bad or good story of course, and I can see why peoples are satisfieds and happy about this revelation. I'm just a little disapointed to be honest. And again this is MY opinion.
"you are giving the honor to save the gods yet again..." Slayerboy: bitch please... I'm giving you the honor to talk freely even in a glory kill distance.
No, the Seraphim created a clone body to walk among the Humans. He was trying to help them prepare for the inevitability of discovering and fighting Hell.
Is DOOM 2016 related to doom eternal? because in doom 2016 it is stated that before samuel hayden dies he made a robot blueprint so he will live on (codex entry samuel hayden) before he died he was a middle aged man wearing glasses that look like 🤓 we can see his picture in the Advanced Research Complex
When the Seraphim came to Earth, he used a human form to gain the trust of the humans. That form was Samuel Hayden. His transfiguration had then began causing his human form to degrade so he made the robot body to extend his life. The cancer was just a cover story.
Samuel Hyden sounds almost like Samael Hidin’ (hiding). Get it? Samael was an angel and he’s hiding on earth because Maykr threw him away from their home world after giving power to doom guy without Maykr’s approval XD that’s a funny theory
Why is everyone so sure seraphim =Hayden? He said he was gonna put his consciousness on the device, not in the makyr. And even if he did put his consciousness on the makyr, he could just feel as if he is the seraphine while in reality is just now trapped or corrupted
Codex states that Samur Maykr the Seraphim created a cloned human body to act as Samuel Hayden to guide humanity and help them prepare for the inevitability of Hell invading their dimension.
What if Samuel transferred his consciousness to a human, but the process caused problems. (The terminal cancer) so he had to transfer his body to the robo body.
2:24 Didnt he just say that he cant go to the Swamps? But in a later cutscence we see him at the top of that mountain. The devs just completely forgot about that. Damn i mean i love this game, but the story is really bad. Demons= bad would have been enough actually.
They explain it in the game that the sanctum isn’t actually part of Hell, but a piece of Urdak placed in Hell during its phase as Jekkad. However, this doesn’t make sense anymore because of the twist of Jekkad being the original realm.
@@SomeKindaSpy Im pretty sure Doom Slayer wants to end both Demons & Angels.. Both are problematic. Who ever created them better run now..Doom Slayer is tired of this BS
