I'm having so much fun with the song voices tonight! A couple of suggestions for you in the same vein: Winger "Seventeen", Tesla "Hang Tough", and Def Leppard "Rock of Ages". Looking forward to more reactions to 80's glam! ☮❤🙏

Yes! Slaughter! I played the shit outta this album when it came out in around 89 or so. The singer's name is Mark Slaughter, which is why they are called Slaughter. They dont really get much heavier this, but try mad about you. They are 80's metal bro. 🙂🤘

Slaughter came out in 1990. They are from Las Vegas where my family moved that same year. As a kid in junior high at the time who was into rock I really identified with them. Up All Night is representative of their sound. None of their radio hits were much harder. I don’t recall if the B sides were. Desperately and Fly to the Angels were their other radio hits. Desperately is the harder of the two and my favorite of the 3 songs. Thanks for the reaction.

Mark Slaughter was the lead singer, they named the band after his last name LOL. IMO, they were kind of pop-metal ala Winger or in that same family of groups. I only heard their videos they put out during that era and I don't recall a hard song unless someone did a deep dive on their studio albums.

Sadly, not really any heavier songs. I have all of their albums. Reach For The Sky, The Wild Life and Real Love from their 2nd album. The singer is Mark Slaughter. He and bassist Dana Strum were in Vinnie Vincent Invasion together with former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent who helped KISS get back on track in the early 80's with their albums Creatures Of The Night and Lick It Up. Creatures is my favorite KISS album -- great stuff. Try Vinnie Vincent Invasion songs Ashes To Ashes, Love Kills, Let Freedom Rock. PS: I saw Ozzy in 1992 with Ugly Kid Joe and it was supposed to be Slaughter. Thankfully Mark Slaughter got sick and Motorhead filled in for the night. My ears are still ringing from Motorhead. LOL 😂

Let's not forget bassist Dana Strum, who also got Ozzy Osbourne the likes of Randy Rhoads and Jake E Lee. Chrysalis Records kept Mark and Dana while kicking Vinnie to the curb for exceeding his credit limit with the label.

Question - Why is there so many reaction videos on youtube fro young-ish people for older music......are people not getting what they want out of today's music or is it something else? Just a question. I watch a few different channels for reactions and I get a kick out their reactions to songs that I know and they don't.

You have a LOT of rabbit holes you've gone down in music. Good on ya. It's fun, isn't it? Here's a music rabbit hole that takes a while to figure out what's going on. This is not a great rhythm, nor a story that draws you in. It's music perfection using only the human voice, Acapella, no instruments. It will take you at least a half-dozen songs to get a good feel of what this group is about. The name of the group is Pentatonix, (Penta=5) and I recommend "Hallelujah" to start with to see what this group is capable of. It has over 600,000,000 views (for a reason). Then go to "Daft Punk", a medley cover of the group "Daft Punk" electronic music, then react to "Mary Did You Know". If you are familiar with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" go to the Pentatonix cover of that. You'll figure out where to go from there.

I've heard some heavier songs from them. Wasn't a fan felt like mark voice sounded bratty. Can't put my finger on it but couldn't stand his voice on heavier songs. But on ballads his voice is awesome. The reason it was quite is most likely came out before the loudness wars.
