Levi is currently a Ph.D. candidate in tropical meteorology at Florida State University, and completed his bachelors degree in applied physics with a concentration in atmospheric physics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

I'm in Newfoundland Canada and I always watch your forecast as sometimes these tropical systems move towards Atlantic Canada. This is the most detailed tropical forecasts site around. Keep up the fantastic work.

Currently there's no 'best case' scenario for Dorian. *If* he skirts the eastern coast of Florida and slowly moves northward along the coast, literally it would affect several major cities and millions of people from Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's and further north. No one wants to be hit by a hurricane but neither does anyone want someone else to be affected ....

It'll be a vigorous wet scrubbing for all of Eastern FL. Even cat 1 or cat 2 conditions are dangerous. It doesn't matter where you would rather it go. It's coming to all of us.

Yesterday in Orlando, u needed about a quarter tank of gas just to wait on the gas line. Truth, more ppl will die cuz they couldn't make it where they were going, than will die at home cuz they stayed!

I'm in Central Florida East Coast, 6th Hurricane for me! Frances sat on us for 36 hours! By then I was totally ANNOYED! No AC after power went out! Being hot and no relief will drive you INSANE! Bought a generator after that one! No power for 8 days!

I started reading the comments below and realized mine is going to sound redundant- You are so good at this Levi. I have been surfing for over 40 years and just learned about you yesterday thru doctor Singer. So glad he sent me your link. So when are you going to develop the technology to steer these things so they hang out 600 miles offshore for a month or two? Then we can schedule surf contests much easier. Am I getting a little too greedy there? Hope you laughed because I don't know how else to repay you. Damn you are good! I swear I almost watched it a 2nd time I liked it so much but then I thought, "WTH would I do that for? It was so clear I don't need to hear it again". You rock sir- please never stop doing this or if you do stop please train one of your kids so we get another generation of your "hurricane clarity" while avoiding the typhoon fever;)

Thank you for being the voice of reason. Noticed a bit more W/E shape this evening vs NW / SE shape from this morning. Movement more to the west then? The ULL is finally getting out of the way and the ridge is clearly building. This slow down is brutal. Interesting to see that the H in the gulf having more influence has I have only been watching the H to the north. And now a 2nd H moves in... further complicating things. UGH!

I've been watching you since before Irma hit us in Florida. Since then, I don't trust anyone else. We had decided to go to a shelter after your videos, then the news and our government in Kissimmee kept saying that it wasn't going to hit us hard in my city. We changed plans and stayed home... BIG MISTAKE! We got the worst part of Irma and it lasted for so long hitting us! I'm from Puerto Rico and have lived in Florida for 16 years, I'm used to hurricanes but the experience with Irma hitting so hard for so many hours was horrible. That's when I decided that I'm going to only trust your information...
