I love when you show us samples of belts that do work and don’t work with an outfit. It’s easy to visually see and tie it in with your explanation. Great video and very helpful!
Liked this video. You really nailed it with your examples. You explain WHY a certain belt works (or doesn’t), something many of us already sense but may not have ever heard articulated. Thanks!
Hello Lydia. I loved the video. A big help!!! Fantastic!!! I'm going to share with you a trick I use when I want to wear a necklace and pants that I don't like to wear without a belt. If the pants are black, I put on a black belt with a black buckle. Thus, the belt is almost invisible, without becoming striking, leaving room for the necklace to shine.
This is a great point. Also there is often an issue with mixed metals and mixing different coloured shoes, belt and bag. This is a very important factor in having an integrated look. A tip someone recently gave me was to not worry so much about mixing metals, as not mixing colours in the leathers of the items. The Rule of three also applies. So as to not have too many competing points of interest. I feel like there is so much more to this topic than was covered, and it honestly just felt a bit too much like an advertisement for the UK based retailer.
Thanks for an another very usable video. :) Lydia, I noticed that you're pleating your tops and shirt when you tuck them in, and I can see how good this is for defining the waist. Can you show us how you do it please?
AHA! The necklace OR belt guideline now that was useful, the other day I just couldn't work out why my outfit felt off and that was the reason, thanks Lydia!!
This is great, Lydia. It would be interesting to see your take on belt placement and width for different body shapes, other than your fantastic figure. How to use belts to balance body proportions, not just outfit proportions.
Excellent video! Would love to see what’s new in your wardrobe! I was about to make a comment about wearing wider belts with a full printed skirt or dress, and then you covered it with the blue belt!
Thank you for addressing belts! I find so much on other accessories, but as w woman with an hourglass figure, belts and earrings are my primary go to accessories.
Really interesting video, to show, how using different belts, can change a look. Would you say using different sleeve lengths, can have the same effect. I find rolling my sleeves up on a shirt, can really accentuate my waist.
Love your channel!! This is an incredibly obvious question perhaps, but could you do a video defining what balance actually is? My initial thought was that balance would mean pairing something bigger with something smaller (aka a wider belt with a more delicate linen shirt and pants,) but you use it in the opposite sense here. I think a video explaining the principle would be so helpful! Thanks!
I love belts and this video was really great seeing you explaining the uses of the belts makes a lot of difference. I’m going to have to pay more attention to how to choose one because I did made some mistakes in the past . Great video 👍
Hiii Lydia! Thank you for showing me your helpful tips on wearing belts! I really loved watching you try your belts on and your presentation was fantastic! 😍
wow love the no belt tips!! i am usually not a belt person, cause i find that with jeans it’s really hard to use and that’s what i would need the most lol
This is such a helpful video! I am pretty low maintenance and have owned only 2 belts. I’m interested in experimenting with them more but may I request a video on choosing a belt color that would work best for one’s wardrobe? I am torn btw a skinny loewe belt in either brown, mushroom, or black. Would love to get great use out of this purchase. Thanks Lydia! ❤️✨❤️✨
The dress you say doesn’t need a belt…..I agree you don’t need a belt at all, looks better without….. however for girls that have a large bust this kind of outfit can’t be super unflattering unless worn with a belt…..makes us look way bigger than we are
This might sound super obvious, but try it with a white dress/long shirt/pants. White on any other colour can create a strange effect in the waist but on top of white it can be quite nice!
Hi Lydia, we’ve been trying to reach you for a brand collaboration. Please advise how we could reach you because we wrote you on your email with no response you . I’m a fan of your style and would love to have you onboard
@@epbluestar3732 it's a promotion video. Shes linking what she's wearing so she can't be told she's gatekeeping. If you can't afford it find a dupe and move on
@@chloeelliott3573 you can’t have it both ways. She is either pushing these pieces or not. Your first comment was she isn’t it’s just the idea. Your second comment was well it’s a sponsor of course she is pushing it and if you can’t afford it move on. Wow. Arrogant much with a touch of gaslighting?! If the point of the video is to push very expensive pieces say that. But it wasn’t. It was presented to say this is an option. In your words now you can move along.
If I was married to her I'd go to bed and cry every night. The rest of the time I'd be giggling behind her back. I only found this video because my partner is obsessed with belts (bit 1980s). Oh my goodness how has our culture given rise to such empty headed superficial fluff? Millie ms if years of evolution to arrive at this. 😂😂😂😂
Perfect timing as I'm just about to order a couple of belts. Previously inspired by you as I've never really used them, but have seen through your videos how great they can make a simple outfit look. Thank you xx
Hello and thank you for this video! I really enjoyed it. I personally don't wear belts. I never like it for some odd reason. I don't feel comfortable with the belt digging into my stomach all the time and I feel that it's dividing me in half. I am not tall enough to give up any centimeters of my height (I am 1.64 cm). It looks great on you, but it's not for all body types for sure. I am Pear shaped and belts should look great on me, but I disagree with that. For the Apple shaped lady I would never recommend any belt (usually stomach is the widest place in their body). Would be very interesting if you would like to make a video about it!
Very useful video, interesting to see how thin belts work as I tend to choose a belt by the size of the belt loops. Would be really good to see an item with the right belt and with the wrong belt side by side/split screen. Would love to see a video of your recent purchases - and before the items are sold out!
In the past I couldn't wear a belt - and then I discovered it's because I'm short-Waisted. I've learnt how to play with proportions, and suddenly I can. :)
In love with that Loewe belt! And such an informative video Lydia! The link doesn’t seem to be working, is it the autumn green/lime yellow one? And are you liking it so far? :)
I love your garments and accessories. I'm perplexed with the hems of the trousers becoming damaged because of the length. I love a long trouser all the way down to the ground but they seem a bit long...
Hi, Lidia! I would like to know what would you say about adding belt to the loose long fur coat? Could you give me feedback in terms of what kind of belt would you recommend if the fur coat is in a black colour? Thank you in advance.
Me gusta mucho tú canal, y podrías hacer para personas bajitas 😇❓ , saludos desde Cozumel Quintana Roo en el hermoso caribe mexicano 💋💋💋, saludos a todos tus seguidores 💓
Do you actually drag your pants? Many of the examples that you demonstrate show you dragging your pants. I cannot imagine going out and dragging the hem of my pants through the nasty streets.
Hi Laura, I was looking for belts online & came across this video. My problem area is my mid section and I don’t think any belt suits me ( it makes me look bigger ) I am a Uk size 12 so , I would really appreciate some advice on what belt to wear when your problem area is the whole your midriff area . Thanks
