They're not doing that because they'll get absorbed, and overthrown by the corrupt system. C*rbyn broadly had the same message (Lynch endorsed him, after all) but mainstream parties function as proxies for corporations and foreign powers, and simply won't allow radical reformist programs to flourish. They've learned they need to build a consensus with workers outside of the rotten system, then pressure the parties from outside of it. UKIP was never going to win an election, but they produced enough pressure to move the Tories further right, and towards a harmful version of Brexit, designed to allow tax avoiders to escape the closing of EU tax loopholes. This is strategically similar, but for real people, real prosperity, not the pretense of representing ordinary people.

@@DrMontague they had valid reasoning to do so. Tony Benn, perhaps the most prominent and inspiring leftist in british political history, opposed EU membership because of the ease that businesses and employers can outsource to other employees who take temp contracts because of the strength of the pound (at the time) and the chokehold that unions have had placed on them since thatcherites put them in one. The points they list on the website are pretty much what was promised by vote leave and if you look at their position objectively then you can see that they do have increased leverage post-brexit due to the lack of outsourcing to migrant workers. I personally don't and didn't support brexit but I can see their reasoning and beliefs behind supporting leave.
@DrMontague
@DrMontague Год назад
@@lukemullan636 Their reasoning was flawed from the outset. capitalism demands the exploitation of human labour to make profit. Whether it's a migrant from over seas of an Englishman (who could be your own brother) agrees to work more hours for less money then you, then you still have the same scenario i.e. capitalists want cheap labour to make profit and not just make profit but to increase profit. Working class fucktard cannot see this, they simply want to hate, kill, watch the foreigner drowned in the channel. Now imagine you are working on the trains and you are doing reasonably well. Your brother is unemployed and scrimping and scraping each week to make ends meet. He that fcked off with his life he decides he will work for 50p an hour less than you, from his perspective it's better than dole money. The employer is quite happy with this as he sees that he will increase his profit. You are enraged because your brother is putting you out of work, you want to kill your own brother., want to drown the bastard in the channel. From your perspective your scumbag brother is the problem. The capitalist has you two hating each other. He laughing his cock off. Conclusion When we were in the EU we were in a capitalist EU. We are no longer in the EU but we still live under the yoke of capitalism. So when the fcktard leadership of the RMT were advising their member to leave the EU they were simply cutting the cloth at one end and sowing it on the other , believing this was the solution to job security, better living standards, better working conditions etc. I argued for socialism, I voted for Corbyn who wanted to come down on the capitalists like a ton of bricks. The RMT leader ship were pro brexit,.pro Boris. They had the chance of electing a good socialist PM and fukin blew it. The P&O workers I can infer were pr brexit, pro Boris. They found out the hard way that Bojo is pro the capitalist exploiters and that bojo only gave them crocodile tears when P&O bosses sacked the lot of the cunts. the story could have been very different if they had elected Corbyn. so let us cut the shit of how wonderfully intelligent union leaders are.

I can assume therefore that many of your members voted for Bojo GET BREXIT DONE! and stabbed Corbyn in the back! Nurses and care workers cannot strike for ethical reasons i,e, people would die, operations cancelled. I very much doubt that the RMT and other unions will strike in support of nurses and care workers. At the end of the day your union members are only concerned about themselves. Shows what a pisspoor state our politicians are in that these two working class blokes can do a better job explaining their political views. Since watching these two speak I notice more and more that so many politicians, especially Grant Shapps and Mark Harper but lots of others too, just don't say what they believe in. They do believe in things, you can tell from what they do, but they won't own up to it. They seem to treat every conversation like a game that they win by saying the most words and making the fewest actual points. Whereas Mick and Eddie just say what they believe in. And you can take or leave that, agree or disagree, but you know where you stand with them and I have huge respect for that.

I think about my former colleagues that are not able to find other jobs and it just makes me so sad.
