As an osteopathic physician and yoga student and daughter of a mother who always said sit up straight I find the visuals and dialogue that Dr. Solberg is engaging students with is so right on.

Very informative lecture, thank you ! Perhaps notebook can be placed on a high stool or podium (without blocking the screen), so Dr. Solberg need not kneel into awkward position to operate the small machine.

I sit curved exactly the way you drew the second guy. My physical therapist told me that I have breathing problems and I don't fully breathe. My stomach and back muscles are extremely weak and that's why I have herniated disc. Is there anything I can do?

go out and play. Move your body and try not to sit for long period of time. Take care of your body. It is more important than your job, than the industry, anyway everything will collapse. Even if it doesnt, fuck screens, fuck obligations (sorry if your have to take care of people you love, it complicates the thing..), think about how you wanna live and do it. Everytime I am in front of a computer I collapse such as the 2nd guy is drawn. But then, fuck screens ! You can choose you are god, you are good, dont give your health to someone else, take your health and embrace it, no one can save you but *you*

Can the rotation of the hips be increased with practice?

Yes, certainly! Hip rotation can be improved in many ways, with Smart practice.

It really depends where the problem comes from...is it skelletic ? (then it is some way to help it), is it muscular ? (then easier to help it), is it fuckin posturologic (then quit your job and find something that feels good for your body)

This is half-informed at best. Check out Simon Borg-Oliver and how he deals with the "kyphotic position" (the turtleback, one of the very natural and protective positions of human body). And what he says about breathing, too. Yoga is not about chest extensions.
