Rambling basically. I asked people for questions and most of them were about depression and how to deal so I decided to spill some my secrets on it and personal experiences.. not too indepth but, interesting enough I thought it might help someone.

U know what's depressing sometimes? Realizing u going to out live important relatives. I'm talking, momma, daddy and brother. Realizing that without them, u going to feel more alone in this world than you've ever felt before

I feel like depression is something you're born with, and in a way, is apart of you. I've felt this way ever since I can remember, and I don't anticipate it will ever leave. It's a darkness some just have, and if you don't have it, then thank God every single day because you are the luckiest person on earth. This shit is painful.

I love that you are giving actual, scientific methods for overcoming depression and anxiety and taking control of your life. Not many people know about that, at least not young adults. I recently learned about positive affirmations, I'm 17, and it really did totally change my life and it continues to. Everything IS in your mind, and it is awesome and comforting to know that we have control over how we feel and how we respond to our impulsive emotions. This is badass of you, you are a total badass. I love you, keep on keepin' on.

Anxiety is a symptom of not living in the present moment. You have to spend time with yourself and actually be with yourself and embrace your emotions instead of running away from them with television, RU-vid videos, videos games, drugs, cigarettes, etc. Exercise, meditation, yoga, supplements such as 5-HTP, passion flower, valerian root, eating raw foods are things that will help you lift your vibration and get you out of the negative spiral and negative thought loops. It's all about choosing the better thought to think in the moment, practicing mindfulness, being there for yourself, thinking softer thoughts, self-love and compassion. The more your practice these things the more you attract positive thoughts and positive experiences. It's all easier said than done (for me at least) but I think the key is telling yourself it's easy. If your telling yourself constantly it's not easy to be happy or it's not easy to deal with this then you can only attract similar thoughts to that. The second you tell yourself it's easy, or I am good at this, or I do love myself things become a lot easier. Seriously, try these things, especially the last one. You also have to have the want to be happy and the want to change. Try to imagine what a happy you looks like because it exists and it's worth putting in the effort to get there. Happiness will take work at least for a while until your brain corrects it's wiring. A lot of people become so used to being depressed that it's become their comfort zone. People get scared to be happy because they're afraid of change or what could come from it. They think what if I try my hardest to be happy and things fall apart like maybe they have in the past. Or you decide to be who your really are and people judge the fuck out of you, question you, and drag you down. It's also about using all your will power to change your thoughts to change the wiring of your brain because since there's so many negative thoughts going on in your head consciously and subconsciously, it's created neuro pathways to make it easier to keep thinking those same thoughts. So keep thinking of positive thoughts, remind yourself daily of things your grateful for even if they're small, make lists of things you love about yourself, and don't be so hard on yourself if you keep falling back into bad thoughts because it's going to take work to train your brain out of it's wiring. You'll keep falling back but as long as you keep training your brain to in that moment think better thoughts it'll become easier and easier to do so and the increments of time spent in old thought patterns will become smaller and smaller. Okay, I'm done.

I also have anxiety and depression. I am a writer, i write poetry and go to writing workshops at the local bookstore. I think art is an awesome outlet. I also have that book, Art and Fear - I love it. I give it to my artistic friends whenever I can. The last person I gave it to was my tattoo artist. I am impressed with how down to earth you are in your more recent videos. I hope that your new work is more of a reflection of who you are and has less partying and drug references in it. I come from a family of addicts and when the media, music and pop culture is saturated with drugs and alcohol it makes that seem like the "norm". As your video shows, you clearly know better ways to deal with things and have a ton of positive insight. You seem to have matured in the last 3 years a great deal. I wish the best for you and your family and hope you find a way to create art that feels more authentically you. I would love to see your lyrics have more serious depth to them and less superficiality, give us something to chew on.

I like that you made a video about this and to share your own struggles it makes it easier to deal with when you see someone else struggling aswell only because you don't feel crazy. I'm not friends with the people I used to relate to anxiety with so it's more of a struggle since I have no one to talk to that really understands what I go through. Most people just look at me and have nothing real to say when I have panic attacks and it makes the struggle lonely and even more sad so thank you

Thank you very much for sharing. I've had depression and anxiety since I was 11. I'm 39 now. Three years ago it flared up bad and I had to quit my job as a teacher. Everything you say here rings true to me, being sad for no apparent reason, freaking out for no apparent reason, having a dysfunctional family, drug abuse, etc. It's funny in a way because I love your music and your videos and, before I saw this vlog, I was like, "Kreayshawn is ultra happy and smart and creative." So I didn't even know you had my mental disease too. I listen to your music to make me happy sometimes. It's so hard for people like us with this mental illness because it's hard to explain to other people why you don't feel good. It's an unseen wound and when people can't physically see it, it makes us more depressed and feeling helpless. But we have to just keep going on. Thanks again for sharing and I hope we have more opportunities in the future to have online therapy.

Kreayshawn, This is a really great topic. I appreciate the sincerity in your approach concerning this because it IS serious and it can negatively affect or limit your quality of life. I've battled with Anxiety and depression most days of my life but i've learned to live with it. I've been on meds and I've gone through therapy. I personally like to "self-talk" where I breathe and then I verbally remind myself that I am OK, it is OK and it will be OK. As you've suggested in the vid, I allow myself to feel what I am feeling and I allow it to pass. If i need to shed tears, i allow myself to. But facing the emotions and feelings really does help :-) Thanks for this, K and btw, your lipstick is everything! Be well

Literally, I have always looked up to you for your music. Idk it just makes me feel some sort of happiness or good vibes or something. And this video just made me look up to you even more. Like shit. You just described every feeling in my body so well, and to know you've felt it too.. it's the kind of reassurance i needed. normally, i tell myself it's gonna be alright...doubtful, and it has no meaning. But this video really showed me that it's gonna be alright. I love youuuuu soo much. Literally wish I had you in my life forrreal.

OMFG, guurrrllll, i have been a fan of you'r music for a while, but now you are talking about some real shit and now i look up to you even more than before. I have anxiety and depression, i can't believe how heroic you are for addressing this stuff. I've had anxiety all my life i look up to you so much because i can hardly do shit because anxiety gets in the way. Seeing that you have anxiety and you are a rapper i have so much respect for you, its highly deteriorating to have disorders and succeed. I'm trying to go back to college and anxiety is getting in my way of being who i want to be. Kreay, i send you fan hugs from Brooklyn. Therapist gave me Xanax for a year and that fucked me up even more with seizures, fuck that shit makes me dependent. I try to eat right now all organic it hasn't made a difference. Thank you so much for you'r advice. It means everything in the world, so many people go through this but their are so many people in the world trying to act like their perfect and their shit don't stink. That is why so many of those suffering with disorders are to scared to talk about it. i tried vitamins, yoga and nothing has helped me. So if anyone has anymore suggestions for me please let me know.

Kreay I knew you were cool but I didn't know you were this cool.. I know someone who went through the exact same thing as you. I think having a child helped fixed your anxiety.. your brain no longer focused on you but it focused on your baby instead and all the negative thoughts went away. Also having a creative outlet helps you get your emotions out. Suppressing your emotions is never healthy and therapy also helps. Mad impressed by your insight, thanks for making this video

damn...i just started to jave anxiety / pannic attacks. especially before a gig. they precribed me valium pills. it got to a point where i stopped taking them and just went head on with the attacks. its still not easy but i managed to control it a bit. awesome thing you did bringing some personal experiences and sharing. not a lot of people understand how bad it can get. we all want to feel better and some just dont know how. big ups and much love kreay.

i've found out about my anxiety when I got into highschool. I had the worst panic attacks.. they were so awfu, it really does feel like you're about to die. my doctor says that my anxiety level is one of the highest (bc there are several categories and such) I've also recently talked about my OCD that has been haunting me for years. best decision I've ever made. it mad me feel so great.. like someone lifted 100 pounds off my chest. also, keeping these things to yourself can transform into depression.. it's a really harsh mental illness. it drains your energy if you keep it to yourself, I''m really glad I seeked help. I have never been on meds so far, because I believe that I can fight off those demons on my own. my OCD and anxiety are part of me, they will never leave but I try my hardest to keep them stabilized. thank you kreay for this video, you are such a lovely and adorable human being. hopefully we can make this world a better place by making people understand that it's perfectly normal not to be perfect. never stop being amazing

I like your advice and I agree. I had to learn how to talk myself down from anxiety years ago and eliminate the triggers (biggest one was my ex)! But depression is a whole other thing. We are all works in progress though. I see a doctor to keep my depression in check and no it's not benzos, just a simple antidepressant. I do think I will buy that book for my 13 year old daughter though. Kids tend to think we don't know or understand what they are going through so I may need some outside help! So I hope the book helps. And it is nice to know you are figuring it all out very well. Take care!

I suffer from social anxiety, I believe it came from the mental roller coaster of growing up in and out of Juvenile Hall. From 14-18 I was locked up more than 30 times, and it wasn't until I finally stopped getting into trouble that I started feeling anxious around groups of people and getting anxiety out in public. For me, I went through a time where I was dead broke, and I believe not having money also contributed to my anxiety because if you don't have money you can't do anything and when you can't do anything you stay at home 24/7, it's an awful cycle and I'm just now breaking it at 27 years old. Anxiety is literally a life and dream killer, it will keep you in a dark house all day and you would want to do anything at all or see anyone because it gives you anxiety, and life just passes you by extremely fast when you're in your most comfortable position. If you're stuck with anxiety and no car and can't go anywhere or find motivation, like Kreayshawn said read a book on Anxiety and watch videos on RU-vid that deal with it and learn something from them. It also helps to get a bike, so you can slowly put yourself in public places and get use to being around people again. I went to the doctor when I first noticed it and they gave me an anxiety medication, they gave me Clonazepam, I took one at night before bed and the next day I didn't have anxiety, but I also had no emotion and my GF at the time wanted me off of it so I quit, it was hard after taking it for a year and a half but I haven't taken it since and I'm still trying to break anxiety without self medication. It can be done but you really just have to learn to feel comfortable with yourself before you can feel comfortable around other people full time. So like I said, start off small and migrate into social settings one step at a time, enter or start conversation for no reason or talk a little longer, take your sunglasses off when talking to people so you aren't trying to mask anything and slowly but surely things will start to look and feel better. So, I hope this will help someone out there just stay positive! and you can message me anytime!

She is so on point!! t's youth alot tho ya know,ya get past things and u find creative things to DO. Hobbies, art, everything. Hell most people if they work and pay their own bills have their own place, make their own way in the world you'll get past almost everything people. if your sitting in your parents house and you aint gotta worry about food or rent yeah you're gonna be depressed. DO what you really wanna DO, BE who you wanna be. You'll feel better as soon as you start planning on what to do to get your life on track!

Hit the nail right on the head. People ask you "why" you're depressed. Depression is when you're extremely sad, fatigued, uninterested and uninspired all at the same time for no obvious reason, and nothing you do and nothing that happens to you can make you happy. It's usually caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain or a repressed traumatic event.

Yo real talk with you being a young artist and putting your shit out there for the world to see is straight up ballsy. You don't see artist in their prime or just about to hit their prime open up and be transparent like this. I know you've been on the scene for a couple of years but you haven't even scratched the surface of where your art is going to take you. I hope your future work will include songs hitting on subjects like this. I was married a long time to a woman who was bi polar and had borderline personality disorder and am a huge advocate for mental illness awareness. Keep breaking the stigma! It also looks like you like to read so if you haven't read it go pick up a book called "I hate you don't leave me". If you ever need an ear to vent to with someone who isn't star struck, not looking for hook ups or networking, some one who's just down yo converse on a human level and listen. Hit me up...

First book covers the clinical, this book covers the journey. Highly recommended for anyone with bpd or related/involved with one... Though just to warn, this book can cause some serious emotions, might not want to read it if you are in a particularily bad period mental health wise. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1592850995/ref=pd_aw_sim_14_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41qja4qMoEL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL260_SR260%2C260_&refRID=1JJWFRZ2B1Q8KF6Y6TRY

Thanks for posting this, it makes the rest of us feel less alone. Good to know girls like you go through the same stuff and know how it feels. I have both as well and I'm on celexa and that has helped, but there are lots of natural ways to help yourself like writing and art and stuff. But like you said, sometimes you have to face it and force yourself to go through the feelings and think about everything and then just let it go after. I have one random question, what kind of lipstick are you wearing? I like it and I want some in a diff color.

Seriously my depression and anxiety is debilitating. And unfortunately only got worse when I had my son. And all through pregnancy I had panic attacks and it's the absolute worst feeling in the world. I really don't want to be put on drugs but I feel helpless. Like I can't do normal daily activities anymore. Idk knowing u have felt this way helps even if it's a small way. I know ur not gunna read this but I needed to vent. Thanks for the video

Self realization of all the negative things that happened to you is very important. You have done that, and now slowly get the weeds(negative thoughts) out of the garden(mind). You are a hero in my book. Keep it up kray :). P.s. You don't sound like an idiot, don't talk down on yourself.
