Meet the beautiful and inspirational Dr. Saray Stancic. In 1995, as a third year medical resident, literally over night, Dr. Stancic was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. This unforeseen health challenge changed the course of her life, both professionally and personally. Her world had been turned upside down, in less than 24 hours.
The years that followed this life-altering diagnosis were riddled with pain, suffering and plenty of fear. At her worst, she had grown dependent on a dozen drugs, a cane, and had developed an overwhelming, sinking sense of hopelessness.
In her own words, Dr. Stancic shares her "Aha" moment that altered the course of her life, brought her healing and the fortitude to create her own documentary called Code Blue. The documentary seeks to shed light on the regrettable, shameful and absurd fact that physicians are ill-prepared by their medical schools to understand the all important aspect of optimal nutrition and how this affects human health.
This conversation was such a joy and I could have spoken to Dr. Stancic for many more hours (well we did when we stopped recording :) ). Please support Code Blue and the amazing work of a phenomenal human being. Check it out here. drstancic.com
Remember this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt which is a favorite of Dr. Stancic, "You must do the things you think you cannot do." Those are words we could all live by!
Thank you for listening and PLEASE share the podcast and rate us where you listen!

Wonderful!! Thank you for continuing to inform the public about the life altering effects of a healthy healing diet. As an RN , I wish I would have been following this news years ago.

I could relate to this on many levels. In 2012 I was so sick with wildly out of control ulcerative colitis which showed all the signs listed for colon cancer, plus I was shedding colon lining and had lost control of bowel movements. Plus I had cancer elsewhere confirmed through biopsy and cardiovascular disease. I had no health insurance, so I was hurrying to update my Will to donate my estate to Christian missionary groups, rather than squandering it on very expensive healthcare specialists. Simultaneously, I was reading about health and nutrition from a wide variety of sources while experimenting on my own guinea pig (me). Through this trial and error process, I landed on a whole-food plant-based diet. All of the diseases have reversed. I now have no symptoms of ulcerative colitis and have reduced meds 90%, and no sign of cardiovascular disease or cancer 7 years later. My last physical, my doctor was asking me how I reversed what they could see in their charts without medication or any other medical intervention. So I explained WFPB and referred to Dr Michael Greger at NutritionFacts.org who has been my primary source of info in constructing my diet today. She was taking notes, obviously interested for her own use (and probably scratching her head how this non-professional figured out what they were never taught in medical school. ) But unlike Dr Stancic, whose original MS doctor was disinterested in lifestyle medicine, I found someone teachable. And I share with anyone who is interested. Kudos to both of you for making this info available to us. It has been my practice to collect info on a wide range of diseases into files that maybe I can share with others. Your story is now part of my file. Thank you.

My MS diagnosis was June 1,2000 yet first factors began in 1998. Now Sept 2020, after a difficult 3 1/2 years of progression, I am now (only 7 days), been vegan. Prior to, my diet did include chicken and fish plus a few bad choices (potato chips), dessert maybe 5% of time. I am now 100% vegan and very strict with refine sugar, dairy, and meat for 7 days. Any further information you can provide or links to watch, would be appreciated. Thank you to hear this 🙏
