I have a 25 litre Acerbis on my DR650, and while I was on a trail ride, I dropped my bike on its right hand side. The right fuel lobe on the tank flexed in so much it crushed my oil cooler. I'm hoping your mod will solve this issue from happening to me again. Thanks for sharing.

G’day. Glad to see your still going, I enjoy your videos. I thought you may have finished up but stumbled upon your new channel. I’m new to the DR but did something similar with top shockie rubbers. Glad to see the DR is still around I thought the Scrambler may have taken over. . Cheers

I have seen others use the adjustable car hood stops as well...little more solid and can be adjustable after tank is on with a couple wrenches. What ever works is best and saves the tank. Great mod.

I don't think I do but it's very easy. Remove the seat and you'll see two bolts attaching the tank to the frame. These are all that hold it on. Remove these bolts. Next disconnect the fuel line from the tank remembering to switch off the fuel petcock first 😜Then simply grab the tank and slide it off horizontally as there are two rubber cushions on the frame either side that help hold it in place. Hope this helps 👍

Great way to fix a known issue with the Acerbis 25L 👍. By the way, I bought the same windscreen as you, but I cut about 70mm off the top, so now it's roughly the same height as the front brake line. It's great protection for anything mounted on the bars, takes the wind off the chest, helmet in clean air, and no buffeting or increased wind noise. Thought you might like to give it a try as you already have the screen laying around.

I went with the IMS. Doesn't look as nice as the Acerbis, IMO, but I like a few things about it better. No fitment issues with it that I'm aware of.

The 25L tank is the best upgrade I did on my DR, but man is it disappointing that Acerbis never addressed this issue...

Thanks for the video TwoTubes. A question and totally unrelated to the fuel tank. Do you know if its possible to retro fit the kick starter? Many people would ask why, when you have a nice little button you can press. But.....would be nice to be able to kick the bike into life if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat battery and no hill? Have a great 2024.
