I think you should get the guys to react to Dragon Ball Kai. The pace is perfect for a modern audience, cuts most of the Filler, and the dub is much better.
Always down for more Dragon Ball reactions and Kai would be the better way to do it over Z(especially dubbed), but don't start at Kai. Start at original Dragon Ball. We live in a time where that series is easily available and there is litterally no reason to be skipping what is litterally the first half of the manga. Starting with Z(or Kai) is the equivalent of starting at volume 17 of the manga.
@@codystewart7398I guess… if you look past all the mistranslations/dubisms and highly unfitting/repetitive music. And less than stellar performances from most of the cast, including the flat-out disgusting stereotyped portrayals of people of color. For the record, I don’t have anything against people who prefer something over something else, but respectfully I disagree with your point Edit: Also it would be really weird and inconsistent if they were to lead with Kai 1.0 and then switch over to Z
I still stand by the opinion that the final arc of GT was the best idea for a final arc of the dragon ball series so far. I wish that it had been handled differently, but the overall premise of the misuse of the dragonballs having negative consequences that are the gang's final challenge felt very fitting for me. If this show is potentially borrowing elements from GT to give Toriyama's version of it, then I really hope we get a new shadow dragon arc.
That's how i feel about GT generally. It had a lot of really interesting concepts that are a better than Super (not counting Kid Goku), but lacked the final execution. The first arc is a huge blemish on it, and does deter a lot of people. But from there, i probably would say that i prefer it quite a bit over Super, simply because of the concepts, use of lore and ending. I would love to see it get a "remaster" with a tiny bit of extra work done on it.
No reactor I've seen mentioned that Goku has his power pole back and honestly it's a travesty lol. I'm excited for this series though, I think Toriyama loved the comedic-adventure style of OG Dragon Ball so hope he can have some fun
I'm honestly excited for this. Apparently it'll be pretty JRPG-inspired, like Dragon Quest, which Toriyama is also involved with. Sounds like it'll tap into the more adventure-focused roots of OG Dragon Ball. GT tried to do that with the hunt for the Black Star Dragon Balls, but once Baby showed up, it just felt like DBZ again. Also, hopefully the de-aging actually allows the power gap to close a bit so other characters can play more important roles.
I agree 100% on the point that we have to enjoy Daima, I also want the continuation of DBS in Anime, but that won't stop me from having fun I think this series has everything to be successful
There is talk going around from the same people that leaked this show months ago that there is already another movie in preproduction so we'll see what happens.
Rumor from the more credible people in the community is. They'll get to that after this is over with. Though they might do so kind of dependent on how well this does.
Marketing wise: really smart, so you can get a bunch of new fans. As a long time db fan, this is not my cup of tea, although I'm looking forward to new db content and some db experts already said that the db super manga will be made into an anime some time in the future. I wonder if they will implement the chibi version of each character into the games.
I was hoping for Super returning so i cant say im super excited for this but I'll give it a fair shot Manga spoilers ahead I just wanna see Black Frieza
Your opinion isn't a fact If you didn't enjoy those arcs, then that's you, I did enjoy them, and there's other things I want to see other than Black Frieza By the time we get a Super continuation if we ever do, we should have more Black Frieza
I’m glad Toryiama is coming back hands on and it’s an anniversary series but I was really hoping to see the manga adaptated into anime already(with no censoring).
Toei/Akira Toriyama and not continuing with their popular story threads.. name a more iconic duo. I bet we won't ever see the remaining 2 manga arcs. They're just going to move past them since Super Hero takes place beyond them. That's the dumb decisions I've come to expect.
We'll just get ego and whatever else popping up unexplained in a future show. Given the less than stellar reaction to the manga Toei has very little reason to animate them @@solodolo7161
I like the premise and the art is amazing but I have one small nitpick. Roshi. He had hair similar to Yamcha's in his OG Dragon ball flashbacks so why is he bald as a child?
Also those flashbacks were all filler so they weren't actually canon. The only canon version we have of young roshi shows him bald when master mutaito dies
@@johnathancarrillo6990 but goten and trunks are babies again and roshi doesnt have a beard. Hercule doesnt have his signature mustache and Chi-Chi's dad doesnt have facial hair either. but it is strange that Bulma and Chi Chi have the same hairstyles as their older counterparts since their kid versions would probably have different hairstyles.
@@lookatthisjamokewell I'm guessing your avg kids can't grow facial hair, so they lost it, they turned into kids they didn't get reverted back to their kidself. Like the other dude said about goku's tail if he reverted back to a kid he'd have a tail.
As someone who dislikes Super and really digs Toriyama's vision, this really got my heart racing. It has everything I always loved about DB: adventure, sense of wonder, lots of fun, tactical combat (as it seems), mysteries. I really hope it will prove itself to be a great adventure
For a brief …. Second I thought that it was the future goku/Vegeta from GT , but it’ll probably be as he said, someone wished for everyone to be kids (~ kinda like GT) which to this day is not canon and was only made for the PlayStation one game then became a series on its own .
In GT it was an unintentional wish to make goku a kid again while Daima seems to be intentional for everyone. Dragon Ball GT an unintentional wish was made on the hidden ultimate dragon balls which scattered into space they have to get them back or the earth goes kaboom.
I wonder if for dub if kid Goku voice actor Stephanie Nadolny that i remember she voice him in DB DBGT Even was kid/teen Gohan wonder she will be back for this series or Sean going be voicing his own version of kid Goku and i hope the story good i was hoping for DBS To come back but will have wait few more years i assume.
it's the same thing but now they are 2. It's the same thing but now the guy is green. It's the same thing but now the guy is pink. Leave the story aside and you can resume most db arcs as being the same thing as the arc before
@@docomega7862Super is literally store brand DBZ but worse in every way possible. OG Dragon ball and Dragon ball Z were actually creative with its storytelling instead of rehashing the same plot formula a million different times. At this point dragon ball has gone from actual storytelling to let’s see how many transformations we can poor into one arc for the sake of being cool.
@@spiro3142 one saiyan attacks earth. Two saiyans attack earth. Two androids are huge threats, let's make it double. One guy is very strong because he can regenerate and has the moves of everyone let's make him pink next time. This one tournament arc did pretty well, let's put 2 more. Dragon ball has a good story but let's not pretend it's a masterpiece when it comes to originality. And for transformations, are you sure you watched dbz? Frieza had 5 different forms in the same arc, 6 with his mecha frieza form. Cell had 3 forms, 4 counting super perfect cell. Buu had way too many forms. As for the heroes, we got 4 new forms in the cell saga with the different grades of super saiyan and super saiyan 2. 2 new forms with super saiyan 3 and ultimate in buu saga and on top of that 2 different ways to do fusion. So tell me again, which one has an overwhelming amount of transformations?
@@docomega7862also, if you really think about it you can say that super is also guilty of repeating arcs especially arcs from both OG dragon ball and Z.
I just had a horrible thought. If the wish is used to make everyone a kid again, and the plot is resolve by returning everyone to their correct age, it would perfectly set up for End of Z and GT, leaving Pilaf's gang old and decrepit and with a new chip on their shoulder.
Imma be real with you. I don't think we're going to get anything out of the main continuity for an anime from Super manga within the next 5-6 years, at least. They've already said in previous interviews that their main focus will be movies. Then, with this coming out and going off of those interviews, then that's at least, Daima and a movie within the next 4 years. After that... lol. Daima is still cool, though, and I can't wait.
It doesnt catch me tbh. I never was a fan of making characters into kids versions (just to sell more toys for a younger audience). I mean DB Super Hero surprised me in a positive way so ill gonna give this a chance.
When frieza clenches his face together it makes it looks like he has wrinkles and his skin color looked green because of the animation, maybe you oughta get your eye sight checked out.
It's still a shame that Funimation can't* release English dubs for ALL of the animations in the franchise. At least two specials are missing. *Yes, I know Funimation is just licensing.
At least Goku isn't the only one that's a kid now. One thing that did kind of irked me about GT was how Goku was perfectly cool with being younger than his whole family even leaving them all at the end of the series
@@Diinytro But he still came back. At the end of GT, Goku leaves them all period. He is only seen again in the future where literally everyone but a much older Pan is dead
Not a fan of turning everyone into children again, but I'm still hyped, because I loved OG DB and this show seems to be trying to convey the same vibes. I just hope, they don't fail at it like GT...
Dunno how I feel about the chibi stuff, but the animation is great and I'm glad to hear Toriyama is more hands-on with this than he has been with Dragon Ball in a while. The "mysteries of the DB universe being explored" angle excites me too.
While confused at the direction this series will go and the departure from the manga, I am STOKED by the animation quality in this teaser! Seeing goku with the power pole is always nostalgic and I feel like everyopne turning into kids will have some very entertaining bits with certain characters
I mean, it's going to be handled differently from how it was before. Including even more characters than before. So i'd say it's already a bit more interesting than the original premise. I certainly think calling the entire series disappointing because of one plot point would be very stupid.
@@msbkaioken136 well I think you saying I think the “entire series” is disappointing after reading my comment is pretty stupid. I am only talking about this trailer and the fact they are kids……… I’m allowed to be disappointed in that they are kids. That doesn’t mean the “entire series” is disappointing.
@@chippewaguy4193 It absolutely is not a stupid assumption after what I've seen these past couple of days, and frankly, these past few weeks considering the leaks.
They had me in the first half especially with the 'original everything by the OG author!' I don't thinks it's bad it looks interesting but definitely not _my_ interest. If Eric ends up reacting to it, I'll give it a watch, but otherwise meh.
For me the trilogy is and always will be DB-DBZ-DBGT. You can’t change my mind. GT has a slow start but the rest is just epic. Can’t love Gogeta SS4 enough
@@BrolyKenseigokurelax.. be happy that we rven got something new. At least it's not a new movie. They not gonna adapt thr next arc until the manga is more ahead plus Akira Toriyama is heavily involved in this series so I don't see being "trash".
It looks nice but I don´t like that wish them into kids thing, did already not like it with GT. Super Sayain 4 looks great but GT over all was not great for me because of the insane censoreship. The did skipp out complete episodes just to avoid viloance , was so weird to get home to wait on an epic fight then all you get is an flashback and the aftermath.
I really wish you'd watch GT, first arc has fun moment, Next is absolutely great, and the final arc is the best possible concept to end Dragon Ball. Just the dub is kinda atrocious and legit change the story... but fuck it if that's the only way you'd see it i'm down
Those arcs were horribly written and derivatives of previous arcs so I hope they never adapt them and do something different that leads to characters obtaining their new transformations.
They must want to make up for the production disaster that was Super. While I'm on board with that, I do think the show looks kinda... dumb. Toriyama has long since given up his shounen action chops and people keep expecting him to bring it back.
