No "New Game" option in an RPG game must be one of the dumbest decissions in gaming the past few years.

I love how 60fps was supposed to be the standard for this new generation of consoles and pc hardware, yet most new games can barely go above 30fps.

Charlie tried to play that game on stream on his PC and it crashed on him ALL the time. Through the 2h stream he played very little of the game(15 min, he said). He couldn't even get through character creator. and he tried everything. Lowering the optimization, reinstalling the game, rebooting his computer, re-installing the drivers..., capping FPS and nothing worked.

TES Oblivion had NPCs that interacted with each other (occasionally killing each other) and it didn't need a supercomputer to run.

It's truly unfortunate to see Capcom dropping the ball with such an anticipated game. The poor optimization and unnecessary microtransactions do not only undermine the experience of the game, but are downright disrespectful to the gaming community.

6 months ago the president of Capcom said that their game prices were not high enough. Their greed has resulted in an increased cost to the consumer, and a decrease in quality of their product. If this is their new standard I won't be purchasing from them going forward.

"A game has to make money somehow" yes, that used to mean they needed to sell copies, and their goal was to draw in as many customers as possible by providing an experience people WANTED to get involved in. AAA developers however have shifted to instead making games that draw in a specific subset of customers with an addictive experience designed to siphon out monthly revenue. This is not a model anyone should support. It is not what makes a healthy game ecosystem. It is just addiction simulators.

Playing on Xbox and haven’t had a single frame rate issue or crash. You can easily play the game without the micro transactions. I haven’t spent anything on it outside of i rial price. Been having a blast. Also for the Dragonplague if it happens your save isn’t fucked. Just wait out a week of in game time by grinding in the woods and all the NPCs will be back. It’s a grind heavy game so I think this mechanic incentivizes players to pay attention or grind if you fuck up. I’ve been loving it so far but yeah the micro transactions are one of the choices of all time

I love how mods have already undercut all the microtransactions too. Infinite save slots tool (+new game creation), all fast travel and revive items acquirable in-game at first merchant, and weightless inventory

to me the dlc list is a matter of someone higher up telling developers they need to add in microtransaction, so instead of locking features behind microtransactions, they put fluff that anyone that just plays the game for a bit will get anyway.

It's funny how back when these micro pay for conveniences were introduced in AAA games people hated it. Slowly but surely, a lot of players are accepting of these practices saying it's essential for the AAA to survive, it's there for lazy people to skip the grind, "it's my money, why you hating?". Imagine how it'll be for Gen Alpha or beyond, those new gamers will feel like these things are the norm.

If you wanna know what is happening in mid and low-end systems, we measure the performance in seconds per frame rather than frames per second

The thing about MTX and to people defending them "but you don't need them" - this is measured internally for future titles. "How many convenience dlc's" are people purchasing, to understand and change the drop rates for future titles to increase that revenue. Allowing it and not calling it out means next game it won't be so fast to obtain these items in game. And then instead of "you can get this in-game in an hour" it will be "but you can just play for a day". That's 100% how this will go if nobody calls it out.

A game that was this hyped, looking like the next Elden Ring, ending up shooting itself in the foot at the finish line is just sad. Removing Denuvo and deleting the MTX storefront is an easy and fast way for them to get back on track, but a company like Capcom would never. There should have been more pushback when RE4make added this same shit because this could have been avoided. Capcom thinks the extra cash they get from the MTX will be worth the hit to their reputation. Prove them wrong.

With games that are considered "AAA" reaching astronomical prices, you'd expect the performance and quality to match the price tag, but no, they can't even bother to perform a quality check through the first 5 mins of gameplay.

Funny thing is, while waiting for DD2, I discovered "7days to die", a 10 year old game and I'm having a blast. Plus its free on gamepass. I actually think on skipping DD2 all together.

Still can’t believe people buy games on day 1. It’s a solid 90% chance it’ll turn out like hot garbage. That’s why I personally wait till these games drop to around $40 and patch tf up.

At this point I just make up a canon in my head that when a game is releasing I add a year to it for it to be playable and be worth it for the price. Worked out so far so I advise others try it as well, just by the game a year later, it is cheaper and you get more.

What is your pc specs I don't have Ray tracing on but I have a 3080 and an amd ryzen 5800 with 126 gigs of ddr4 ram and I average 90 fps I haven't hit the major city yet.

Am I the only one noticing that almost every $70 game that comes out turns out to be disappointing?

Capcom doesnt listen and i been saying for years that when their few IP's they put everything in, and they're going to flub it the way they do things now, those other IP's actually asked for are still ignored. None of this surprised me, I never really felt much for Dragons Dogma in the first place. Until I see something like a GOOD NEW version of Lost Planet, Powerstone, DarkStalkers, Cyberbots or it's beat em up version that came before it, or the number of many things we asked for back, I'm just not buying anything out of Capcom anymore. Like many other big companies, they've lost their god damn minds and lost sight of making all over good games. They have to keep re selling their old ones, get reminded we want new versions of those old ones, and then promptly ignore their communities and th ink they know better of what they want and lose more players with every release. They use to be saved from their shenanigans by bringing Resident Evil around again. What's going to happen now that they over milked even that? Will they even KNOW how to make a good DarkStalkers or PowerStone? By listening to the WRONG people they made Lost Planet 3 instead of expanding off of what could've been from LP2 which is loved to this day, and yet they also LIED about FIXING IT so it could easily play on PC again. With Capcom's ill gotten goods from SFV, which wasn't even really good, they think they know whats good for the company, but it's only what's gotten a short term rise. And now I'm not even sure if they pulled their version of a Guardians of the Galaxy and give us the return of Rival Schools that if it can save their long game with the way they've gotten, and the direction they've gone internally. Especially now when other titles like RoboCop and HellDivers 2 proves it can make some damn good games with a fraction of the budget, know what works and expand upon it, and honoring fans and the likes of what that IP is. Unlike others I knew HellDivers 2 was going to be worth playing, for one I've also been a big pusher of just how fun ragdoll physics and a 3D dynamic environment can make for all kinds of un expected situations, and that means more gameplay, outcomes, and with it it's own kind of depth. I just dont feel that with Capcom anymore. I don't feel that dynamic fun with themes that appeal to me with a fair cost. 17 dollars for a Ninjaturtle skin or otherwise in a fighting game is just ludacris, I will not pay it. Eventually you'll find that breaking point where even the many players with no real self restraint to vote NO by not paying out from the wallet will also say no. Fun content that several can enjoy for a fair price and purchased in more numbers by today's math is a smarter move. It will in the end make more money in most cases. Especially if it's whats been asked for. The idea of common sense even in the markets seem to have gone extinct.

Its all fun and games until you cant earn the items in game anymore...its inevitable at this point

Ban Denuvo. This type of software should be illegal as it can considerably shorten the life of SSDs, and run laptops hot enough to cause damage to the machine. This is coming from first hand experience, as multiple keys on my keyboard don't work anymore as a result of it running it on my machine, a high end laptop that shouldn't have ANY problems trying to run the game. Not to mention that other software is lagging now as the result of the damage this program caused. For the record, I'm running on a high end cooling pad, running my fans on high, and using an external vent fan to help with overheating. I can run BG3 at 80 degrees on ultra settings. DD2 immediately pushed computer over 110 degrees. I want them to pay me for a new fucking computer.

I hope my comment go through - how do you run this on Linux witr bearable performance? My experience was not good in anyway - i tried few Proton options before switching to Windows (im in dual boot) because luckily I got to know of shitty Denuvo with his limit of 5 activations a day. Like, 15-20 overall fps on Linux vs 40-60 in open-world/combat and 30-40 in citys and capital. Running Linux Mint, latest from website (I just moved for the first time ever to Linux just couple days ago, to see how it is) Specs: I5-12400F RTX 3060 32GB RAM

Refunded this and in no rush to play it in this shitty state, waiting for 50% sale... Not rewarding this Bullshit

Its funny isnt it. The majority of people playing say its a great game but a bunch of streamers and RU-vidrs seem to want to hate on it to be popular.

The argument has come full circle. in the early 2000s, it was "you don't need to buy it; you can get the buffs from normal gameplay." Then, publishers started making the games take longer and longer to do a thing, so the paid buffs were more enticing. Then, we get the likes of Star Wars: Battlefront (the remake) and Gran Turismo 7. Don't let them try to make us complacent again. Just because it's not necessary, doesn't mean it isn't insidious.

You can like a game and also think the MTX are garbage, but fans think they have to defend EVERY aspect of it. Happened with RE4R, is happening with DD2 and will keep happening in the future

Became an adult, first time in my life built a powerful gaming PC to play new games at whatever setting i wanted, now i play more old and indie games that could run on a potato just because how disappointing "AAA" games in general have become, battle pass.. seasons.. chores me and all my mates are all relying on games and ip's that come out 5, 7, 10, years ago for our daily gameplay fix its bizarre

You can get the new game option by paying 50% of retail price ;D but only for one time though! You can pay for more if you want more save files!

One of the things that bothers me the most is that Denuvo restriction of 5 PC activations per day. It's not the worst I've ever seen but I don't like that it's going in that direction. How long until they adopt even more strict DRM measures that break the games in 10-20 years should something happen to any of the companies or Denuvo? I thought we've already been through this.

You guys should know that monster hunter rise, re4, dmcv and re8 have microtransactions. Monster Hunter rise has the most currently with a staggering 200+ dlcs.. Legitimately weird that people are just now noticing this stuff and finally fighting back.

If they are going to sell you "time savers" then they are likely putting things you don't want in the game to make you buy them.

7800X3D user here. The problem isn't even neccessarily the framerate it's the wildly inconsistent frametimes. I'm playing this game at 4k on my 4080 and get well beyond 60 fps but even despite that it's still not a smooth experience. Elden Ring for comparison runs at 4k locked 60 and feels infinitely better than DD2.
