To be fair, when you're raised on country, you're sort of immune to it for the most part.

Considering I've seen a lot of country fans get mad over that scene, I kinda just wanted them all to double down and say "We're right, your taste sucks, get better taste."

I always assumed it was because Vegeta did the calculation in his head and realized Krillin had just ranked him as not just lower than Goku (something he begrudgingly admitted), but lower than both his teenage son and Goku's son, who had yet to hit puberty, meaning that Krillin had just called him out for failing to even secure the bronze medal from a toddler.

I always read it as being Cell at number 1, with goku and Gohan at 2nd and 3rd

Krillin still doesn’t know about the weaknesses of ssj grade 3, or that Vegeta could use it too but chose not to. He just thinks it wasn’t enough against cell. So he’s definitely placing Vegeta at 4.

@@marvelsandals4228 I thought something similar though I didn't really get the impression he was calling Krillin out so much as legitimately demanding an answer. Say what you want about Krillin in terms of his combat effectiveness, but I'm pretty sure that after Goku he's got like the second or third best Energy Sense of the main cast. I'm not sure if that's like canonically listed anywhere, but he's trained with Goku his entire life, he's got essentially perfect energy control (turned into a joke in DBZA but canon), and whether it's just for the reaction shot or whatever it seems like Krillin virtually always senses approaches before anyone else. EDIT: Also Trunks and Vegeta both went full rounds with Cell, Krillin got hit ONCE and even in the original it's Krillin who immediately knew he was holding back not just when he hit him, but when he was fighting Vegeta and Trunks as well.

I was always confused about that one, because I assumed by “that I know” he meant “who are friends” which would exclude Cell. Which would make it Goku, Vegeta, Gohan. But it makes a lot more sense if Cell is included because then that makes it Cell, Goku, Gohan and Vegeta being upset at not being in the top 3.

I always got where she’s coming from, but at the same time Gohan has been one of their strongest fighters who are responsible for stopping world ending threats and (admittedly with future knowledge) was the one to kill Cell. Without him, the world would have been destroyed. So it amounts to Chi Chi literally saying “I would rather the entire planet blow up and everybody dead”. Which is hard to not be irritated by.

Don't try to be someone else. Be you. Be the best you that you can be. We have enough somebody else's and look how trash most of them are.

Eh yamcha died by the karma of purely underestimating his opponent. The other 3 died like complete badasses tho if we’re being fair, especially chaotzu and piccolo.

Of course, Yamcha jokes are a time honored pastime, so you gotta respect the classics, but...let's not forget that Goku and Piccolo got bodied by Raditz and only won because Gohan's deus ex machina attack wounded him and Goku died taking out...Raditz. Yamcha in his first debut of Z was strong enough to body Raditz by himself, and thus, way stronger than Goku and Piccolo. He then bodied a Saibamen without any trouble and was ready to take out the others. That's what actually happened in the manga/anime, before the wounded Saibamen surprise kamikazed him. Is that still funny? Yes, its hilarious, but indeed, he died "on his feet, like a man," risking his life to protect the Earth from Vegeta and other evil alien invaders that are making movies now or some shit. Vegeta was defeated and nearly killed multiple times, the first of which Krillin was gonna stab him to death with Yajirobe's sword, but let him go because Goku asked him to, then he got bodied by Zarbon, then Recoome, then Krillin (and Dende lol) and proceeded to get 4 BS zenkai boost power-ups. After ALL THAT and talking all kinds of shit, wrongly assuming he was a Super Saiyan, wrongly assuming he could take Freiza, he was toyed with until he cried, and died crying begging Goku to avenge him. Vegeta most certainly did not die "on his feet, like a man."

Based on Buu Bits, this must have actually happened at some point, since Vegeta attends "Krillin's movie nights" and I bet Yamcha would attend such a thing if it exists, so those three did ultimately end up hanging out and watching movies in spite of Vegeta's sarcasm

Which doesn't make sense, if you think about it. Usually when you mix two species, the offspring comes out as poorly adapted to any of the circumstances their parents are built for. Gohan shouldn't be stronger than his father; he should be WEAKER, because his Saiyan blood is diluted. And I don't even know what his human side even adds to the mix.

@@Dragonpit I'd have to think that upbringing is one of the main factors for the hybrid being stronger. Saiyans only care about fighting and proving their superiority. Weak people can die, like when Vegeta vaporized Nappa for losing to Goku. On the other hand, humans have more heart and care for others, so that desire to protect those they care about gives them a more personal investment and allows them to tap into more of their true power. So it's mixing a saiyans combat potential with a human's heart.

I always liked it because it's perfect for Dr. Briefs and really encapsulates his character in the entire series. The man who built Capsule Corp, the smartest man on the planet, the richest man on the planet, who never does anything ever. And is only talked about or shown occasionally, because his daughter is one of the main characters and does everything for her friends instead. Now he actually has a purpose in the series to the plot, and not just the lore.

Let's never forget that one day Goku walked up to him and said "I want to go to space, you're a smart scientist guy, right? Can you make me a space ship?" And then he did, like in a very limited time, I think he completed it in like a week or some shit. He just casually built his own functional one-man space craft capable of surpassing the speed of light with presumably no experience with anything related to space travel. I guess he spent that evening reading up on it and figured "ok, that's not THAT hard, it's just rocket science," then he surpassed all known human technology and laws of physics. Oh and his spaceship also doubled as the best training environment ever created by allowing the user to freely manipulate the gravity conditions of the room to their desired setting, which was probably the only reason Goku ever achieved Super Saiyan. In conclusion, he's a gangster

Because for all his bluster and strength, Vegeta is not terribly creative. His default desperation move is to throw hundreds of ki blasts at a target which *never works*. Chi-Chi? Chi-Chi is a low level superhuman in a world where Golden Age Superman has become the baseline. If she threatens you, you know it's going to be something horrific, unexpected, and something you will *never* see coming.

I felt like he was thinking "you're not my type but that was hot" because that's a very Saiyan type of behavior

From a meta standpoint Chi-Chi actually gets to go through with her bits. Vegeta cannot kill or maim any of the main cast, so it's alot less threatening. But Chi-Chi actually can follow through, she can get extremely angry, she does get to fuck Goku. Plus you see Vegeta get his ass kicked often, and the main cast is way more scared of crossing one over the other.
