Hello there dear flower patch lady pam,oh my lots of good things to learn today. I too love travelling plants,i did have my indoor miss ivy, she gsve up i October and i couldn't find another little indoor one in time for Christmas, i had hoped to find a reduced mixed basket after Christmas in the grocery store but nope wasn't to be..well i do have a plan now as we still haven't been to the gsrden centre with my mum as she was not up to going out for a bit,so it will be next week ,so i also am hoping to get some already potted paper white s...i have been getting very creative in my mind but not getting anywhere with much at the momment,,im popping notes in my book of some some ideas from you as i keep forgetting, goodness me ,still need to pot my baby aloe vera, s,.😊.pam,i really do love the plants in your greenhouse, i do think rosemary s znd lavender s from a distance look similar, but the colours are gorgeous in terracotta pots...later in the year i hope to find a more salmon colour geranium, for indoor s,but some more Hardy geranium s for outdoors. I really love your video s.sorry i was late watching, had a busy upside down day Friday. Happy Saturday dear flower lady. From me znd my garden girls 🐔. To you and yours,xxxlovely trialling day,xx😊

My favourite trailing plant is silver falls dichondra as I like the silvery foliage. It is an annual in my area but I do over winter it in my greenhouse. I always wonder why my nasturtiums don’t bloom. Then you mentioned that they don’t like rich soil and that is exactly what I have been growing them in. Thanks for the tip.

I love silver falls dichondra and forgot to mention it. Last year the greenhouse mold killed the one I was overwintering but I just ordered seeds to start. I have yet to try growing them from seed and if it works well I will be thrilled. Thanks for the reminder!

I planted the white euphorbia around the base of my obelisk with a pink mandevilla vine. It was gorgeous and bloomed all summer. I will be doing the same this year. Bonny

I love the airy white euphorbias but they don't overwinter for me. That sounds like a pretty combo. I am trying to grow some other spillers from seed and I will report in on how they fare this year.

Good morning Pam, I always look forward to your videos. They make me happy since we are blanketed in snow and cold and I don't have a greenhouse or place to start plants over winter. I wondered if you defoliate your roses in spring? My roses have retained their leave because we didn't really get cold weather and snow until recently. A late start to winter. I do start things in April and I put the seedlings out on my porch and bring them in on the cold nights but they never reach a size that I can enjoy until season is almost 2/3 through. I will buy some and mix in smaller ones to make the display fuller until they get going. I hope to have a little cottage or greenhouse like you have when I move next year, I need that to help me get through missing my garden in winter months.
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse

I do defoliate my roses and I need to get to them, they get that black powdery mold on the leaves. I should make a note to go outside and take 10 to 15 minutes a day to get to all of them. In my January garden tour I shared the ugly stuff that infects them. I can still get to most of them right now so I really should put it at the top of my to do list. My little greenhouse is a game changer for me, it really does help me get through winter here. We can have winter weather through May so you can understand why I need some help!

I have Tornado Red Ivy geraniums I started from seed last year. They are suppose to attract hummingbirds. I had them in a cellar window but brought them inside for warmer temps and they are doing great. I haven't noticed any pests on them. I plan on putting them in hanging planters this spring. I bought a vermillionaire two years ago and it had a volunteer trailing something that is a silver color with small leaves. I don't know what it is but it looked great trailing from the pot.
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 5 месяцев назад
I can't be sure but it seems you may have a silver falls dichondra mixed in there. I just ordered some seeds of that to start. It is another favorite of mine that I failed to mention. I grew some Tornado Mix a few years back and I should get more, they were so pretty.
@NewEnglandgardening
@NewEnglandgardening 5 месяцев назад
Thanks, I just googled that and it looks like it might be Grande Silver Falls. I had the pot sitting on concrete so it never touched soil. I just cut it back when I brought the pot inside for winter and the lone plant in with the vermillionaire is still growing. It looks like it is easily rooted by layering. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d4PlgLHKjjw.html @@FlowerPatchFarmhouse

Sweet Peas. Collect the seed when they’re done. Sow for next year.
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 5 месяцев назад
Great suggestion! I love sweet peas and I grew the ones from Renees Garden seeds that are just for hanging baskets. I let the seeds this year all fall to the ground and see if I get them to come up on their own. Some have done so in the past but much depends upon our winter.

I have 2 vinca lt and dark purple (not variegated) and creeping Jenny.. each were 4” plants when I got them 5-6 years ago.. easy to control and “weed” but they are very hearty and aggressive here in southern Maine, 5b.
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 5 месяцев назад
They are very gorgeous and it sounds like you have a great game plan for keeping them in check. It usually isn't hard but many want to plop and forget plants instead of maintaining and that is where they can become a problem for them. I do love my variegated vinca and with a yearly root pruning, they grace me with beauty without being a thug.

@@FlowerPatchFarmhouse oh I have to keep them in check.. particularly the creeping Jenny .. but I an always weeding it and planting pieces in different places.. or containers.. it just want to grow 🙂 and I do love the yellow blossoms it puts out. So sweet and dainty ♥️🙂

My two favorites are alyssum and lobelia. Seedsnsuch had free shipping so I stocked up.dichondra silver falls has sky rocketed in price I just don't understand how since covid its went from 4 to 5 $ to 18$ outrageous. I try to start all my flowers now I do buy a few of the hybrids that we can't buy seeds from from pw. But ide rather pay 5$ for 10 plants I grow than 75$ for those at big box stores.

Is it possible to share your recipe for what you were spraying. I think my rosemary topiary has that. Thanks!
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 5 месяцев назад
Yes of course! The Rosemary and Clove spray is from Systemica and it is an organic pesticide that, for me, has also helped with fungal problems. Here is the link to their site: sierranaturalscience.com/ Some Ace Hardwares carry their products but I found mine at a local garden center. I met the owners at Cultivate last July and was impressed with how the product works so I hunted it down.

Would you please share your rosemary pest control mix spray? I did get my first sweet potato vine the lime green the color is beautiful and adds so much to the garden. I did order the variegated sweet potato vine from proven winners for this spring to add as spiller in my container, the doble color is very pretty. I’m a new fan of sweet potato. Thanks for sharing!

Good morning Pamela 😁 Cracking up over here, "I knew I would remember!" Lol 😂 that's me half the time. Usually, I remember much later far after the conversation is over lol. Love the scent of Alyssum. Question 🙋🏼‍♀️ do you put your sweet potato vine in full sun? I have found that mine tend to get the brown edges in our full sun here. Have a beautiful day!
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse
@FlowerPatchFarmhouse 5 месяцев назад
I keep the sweet potato vine all over my garden and I have noticed some varieties are more sun sensitive than others. But we are shaded part of the day with the tall evergreens surrounding us so I assume they don't get hot sun as long as you do during the day.
