Radiohead is not just music, Radiohead is art. They serve so many genres, are so diverse. You should definitely try "Paranoid Android", "Karma Police" or "No Surprises" to get started. The whole album "OK Computer" is a masterpiece.
I feel like Tool is my favorite band if I had to pick. But OK Computer is quite possibly the greatest album 💿 I’ve ever heard. Ya know…. Back when we had albums. 😎
I would recommend Paranoid Android it's my favourite and Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters has said it's in his top 10 of greatest songs ever written. Very eclectic and not your normal song but very artistic. Shows off the talent of Thom York the lead singer. Have fun.
wow glad I found this channel, reactors who study what they're reacting to before hand in terms of history behind something and not spoiling it for themselves, first channel I've seen do that
I was born in 87. I knew about band named radiohead and that it was kinda big. Never listened to a single song. Never had the urge to give them a chance. Heard creep for the first time ever yesterday. I think i might have heard it before in a movie or somewhere, but def discovered radiohead just now. Almost 37 years old.
These guys changed dramatically after this album. Their artistic integrity and innovation are second to none. These guys and Tool are by far still my favorites after all these years and they’re both still making music ✌️
Same! TOOL is my fave, and I’m becoming a huge fan of Radiohead (and started reacting to them on my channel too)! They are both very innovative and creative bands🎶
@@Literallyjustmint I go back and forth. It’s probably Tool when it comes down to it. But they both caught me at perfectly impressionable age. And seeing what they both keep doing after all these years…….. I’m good with that decision 😎
To me, this is an example of a vocal that is so emotional, it can touch you, even if you can't relate to it. You don't have to put yourself in the lyrics, to appreciate his pain. It doesn't have to be personal to you, and that's uncommon, imho.
You have to react to Haley Reinhart with postmodern jukebox "creep". 115 million views, 58 weeks top Billboard jazz chart. Haley is a vocal coaches wet dream, Haley is not just a singer she is a master vocal technician. Haley's creep it's considered one of the top 10 singing performance
Radiohead is a band that has evolved dramatically over time. Every change along the way is, simply put, brilliant. The Radiohead experience is a journey into a world where music and high art perfectly unite. “Creep” is a kind of ‘cave man’ beginning point for the band. Great reaction! Thanks
This is totally my theme song. It describes me perfectly. Anyway, I'm so excited for you to reacted to PMJ (Post Modern Jukebox). They have several awesome covers. Starting with Creep will definitely set the tone of them and showcase their amazing talent. Please consider my request for a Mia Morris reaction (What Made You Famous?) to start with. There is a really good live version of this, I'm not sure which one, maybe others will know, but it really shows his talent as a live singer.
Radiohead make music like Abtract Art! Its like People in rhe 1930s standing confused in front a Picasso first Cubist painting! CREEP is their most mainstream accessible track! But to really understand the genius if their music, you really have to listen to a whole album in dark room at night just to give your brain tome to figure it out and adapt! Aftee listening to a while album, yr brain adaors and you marvel at their music.....like Picassos Art!❤
Radiohead was kinda grunge on their first album (which Creep is from), then got into some britpop and art rock, then taking a left turn to more experimental electronic music before kinda going back to more art rock and experimental indie rock. Their last album (A moon shaped pool) has a lot of cinematic string arrangements and is very piano-based. They're a very interesting band that keep on challenging both themselves and their audience.
I apologize I had to run my mouth as soon as I saw the video. I had to talk about postmodern jukebox right away cuz this song I don't know if it's just me but I get to super teen angsty. And the other one is Sultry and Smoky and grown plus Hailey's awesome. Both songs both versions are great I just I dig the postmodern jukebox version. Something about that Jazzy swing music the old songs and standards I just really dig that. I turned into Naveen from The Jerk I found my rhythm😂😂😂 my dad joke for the day
It's good to hear them at this early stage and I agree it does have a grungy feel, but wait until you hear their 3rd album 'OK Computer'! They've really developed their sound so much more by then and the album is universally acclaimed as a masterpiece. I strongly recommend 'Paranoid Android' as played live on the 'later with Jools Holland' BBC music show, one of the very best live performance I've ever seen!
I wouldn't classify Radiohead as grunge but, around the time of grunge, there was a lot of grunge-adjacent "alternative" music. That's where I'd probably file early Radiohead. Btw, def looking forward to y'all checking out Postmodern Jukebox's cover of "Creep" because it's a great interpretation that becomes its own thing and I think you'll really like it. Plus, it usually leads a channel into a mini-rabbit hole of at least a few more of PMJ's popular covers, particularly those featuring either Haley Reinhart or Morgan James on vocals, and that's always a fun journey to follow. If you're looking for more Radiohead, "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" is a great one. "Karma Police" was a radio hit. "Paranoid Android" is a good one if you want to check out a slightly more evolved Radiohead (in what I think of as their "90s dark Pink Floyd" era). "Exit Music (For A Film)" if you want something dramatic. "Everything In It's Right Place" if you're looking for more electronic and futuristic Radiohead. Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with Radiohead. I'll probably re-suggest these when you do a PMJ reaction but, in addition to "Creep" featuring Haley Reinhart, I'd suggest PMJ and Haley's cover of the White Stripes song, "Seven Nation Army" (which they do as a New Orleans style dirge) as well as their cover of Tove Lo's "Habits" (which takes kind of a dark song and somehow makes it bubbly). Also great are PMJ and Morgan James covering Aerosmith's "Dream On" (which could easily be a James Bond theme song) and Maroon 5's song, "Maps" (which they do with a 70s soul vibe). And for a fun one, check out "All About That Bass" (the European Tour version) featuring Haley, Morgan, and Ariana Savalas on vocals as well as Casey Abrams and Adam Kubota on bass. And, finally, one that doesn't get enough love but is pretty spectacular, PMJ and Miche Braden covering Prince's "Purple Rain." Miche takes Prince to CHURCH. It's a good one.
After hearing the cover of this song by PMJ featuring Haley Reinhart, may I suggest another cover of Creep by PAULINA VILLARREAL, drummer of the up and coming power trio THE WARNING. Then check out the rest of their songs like EVOLVE, DISCIPLE, reimagining of ENTER SANDMAND, AND CHOKE. These three sisters from Mexico are exploding onto the hard rock scene. They've already opened for Foo Fighters, Guns N Roses, Three Days Grace, Halestorm, currently touring with Muse in Europe, and have already headlined several tours in America.
You will enjoy PMJ featuring Haley Reinhart. Her singing in this song is a Master Class on various Vocal Techniques. I know two other covers of this song that are great in their own light. Both are from singing competitions. The first is "Brian Justin Crum", in his 2nd performance on AGT. The other are "Mimi and Josefin" (Sisters) on The Voice - Kids (Germany). Even if you can't react to them, I'd suggest listening to them, as they each have a different sound.
One of the greatest bands of all-time, and Thom is definitely in my "holy trinity" of rock singers. His range is amazing and the band is talented at master levels.
This song is borderline genius! I wasn't impressed with the audio quality (mix) of this recording. I'm sure that LIVE (actually being there) would be amazing. One measure of excellence for any song is how many times and how many other groups or bands have covered it. This song has been covered a LOT. If you aren't aware, Pentatonix does a shortened version of this in competition that is great. When you hear the PMJ with Hailey Reinhart version, THAT is when you have heard the best (my opinion). Hailey offers one of the best musical performances I have ever heard. Keep up the great reactions! You two make a great team!!
Wow, here's a rabbit hole for you. You'll understand, especially if you can move through their work chronologically, that they're just very, very good songwriters and arrangers. Nobody does things like Radiohead, nobody. They think differently in all respects. For example, they were the first band I ever heard release their latest album as a download from their website and you just paid what you thought it was worth. It was funny, not too long after that I think it was Madonna announced she was doing the same thing, but when fans downloaded, it wasn't the whole album or complete songs, some sort of limitation anyway. There you go, one artist offers their fans something real, complete and on the fan's terms, the other artist just saw a marketing opportunity.
There was a singer on America's got talent" several years ago who sang a cover of this song. He name is "Brian Justin Crum". His vocals were next level, and it was a much more emotional, and dare I say darker rendition from the original. You might want to add this to your list. 🤯
Oh yes I saw that performance. I’m not usually into this kind of music. But I do celebrate all forms of musical genius. His version of that song.., well to say it was genius, and beyond soulful is just kinda an understatement!!
Grunge changed the path of rock once it hit in 91 so when you hear bands after, that reminds you of grunge it's because of just that....rock was one way before grunge then another way after grunge. You're basically hearing what happened the day Kurt Cobain and Nirvana kicked the door open! Grunge was Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains! The Seattle Four was the Grunge movement...if anyone else says anything different, they were probably too young or in diapers in the early 90s...I was 19 in 91 and a guitarist so I seen the scene. lol
Do Radiohead "No Surpises", "Paranoid Android", "Just", "Exit Music (for a film), "Like Spinning Plates" (LIVE VERSION), " "True Love Waits", "How to Disappear Completely", "Motion Picture Soundtrack", "Everything in it's Right Place", "2+2=5", "A Wolf at The Door", "I Will". I stopped liking them after Hail To The Thief, that was their last good album. They stopped working with Nigel (Their producer) and it's evident in their new albums. Obviously, there's millions who like them, but I like their old stuff.
I'd love to see you react to KD Lang's cover of "Crying" in a tribute to Roy Orbison. She's amazing! Also the Righteous Brothers video "You've Lost that Loving Feeling".
This song doesn't need Good Voice... Just Need An Emotion... Very very f*cking deep emotion... So you all can sing this song.... And i ended up overdose...😢
Yes, you really ought to treat yourself to some more Radiohead, I've enjoyed every single one of their nine albums from '93 to 2016, but it's no wonder that their third album OK Computer was their biggest success. But I personally don't think they've 'dropped the ball' since then, and I still love their previous albums. Creep was their first single, a top ten hit in 4 territories. I'd recommend Street Spirit (Fade Out) the last track from their second album, Karma Police from their third, How To Disappear Completely from their fourth (have patience with that one then listen again a couple more times!) and Go To Sleep from their sixth, composed in alternating bars of 4/4 and 6/4 which gives it a very interesting sound to say the least! In all honesty though, Radiohead are best listened to by the 'whole album' in my opinion. Like Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin for instance.
You really ought to check out Robbie Williams. He was HUGE outside of the US (never bothered breaking it!). And I mean worldwide mega-fame (just look at the number of views on his official You Tube Videos. Try out Angels, Let me Entertain You and any song from Live at Knebworth (which I still believe is the biggest crowd at any concert ever!). He is a British lad, was in a boy band, but left to write his own stuff. Still considered a national treasure here. Very cheeky, cocky humour and very talented. Has Freddie vibes...
How do these people exist? Are they aliens that just arrived here? Why did I watch this, I guess I wanted to hear Creep and see folks minds explode - which for a moment seemed like was happening for them but then... "It's like that one song we did by that band Pearl Jam - Black... oh yeah i enjoyed that too very nice song" lol great ok i guess they'll go back to dualipa or taylor swift to put themselves to sleep tonight. Whatever - different strokes for different folks. im too harsh i guess i just dont know where they found that rock to live under and it must be nice under there for these songs to be casually enjoyable lol
Guys, I really do like the reactions I've heard from you so far... but that's the first reaction I've ever heard to Radiohead "Creep" that didn't include any reference at all to the lyrics of the song 😱 when the lyrics are so at the core of what makes this song so iconic. Guys!!! What did you think about the lyrics???
“Creep” is good but nothing hurts my soul like their other song, “Fake Plastic Trees”. There’s an ache there about trying to be genuine when everything and everyone around you feels artificial.
Hi you came because this song because acapella group did cover a couple days called VoicePlay but a few months before that another acapella group did this song too called Pentatonix. I like the song but I like VoicePlay a little better.
Grunge wasn't as big a thing here in the UK so whilst I'm not saying there was no grunge influence on them, everyone knew Nirvana but no one else was really that huge over here unless you were really into that music, I don't really think this was that big an influence on them. Radiohead, in my opinion, are their own genre!!!
There is a much better version of this with a live performance from them. Looks like it was filmed with a potato, but audio is fine. Worth checking out in your own time. Thom's vocal range is really shown off in this one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-US0CUegPr3g.html&ab_channel=LuigyAguilar02
