This album feels like a breakthrough moment for Dreamcatcher to me. They've always been unique within Kpop, but the JRock and pop/punk influences were very apparent, but since probably Piri it seems like they've been really working out their own unique sound and I think this album is where it feels like it really crystallized for me. This feels like an album only Dreamcatcher would make and I am here for it!!
Really? I like Sahara but I could see Tension and Black or White as title tracks first. Red Sun, Sahara and In the Frozen would be the B-side types bc they pop off but in a more relaxed way w more instrumental
I really feel like Dreamcatcher have created a sound of their own. Not many artists manage to mix Rock, pop and edm. I honestly can't think of any artist who sound like them and that is testament to hove unique they are (maybe Muse but not really?). Soo happy they are finally getting recognized in Korea. Thanks for introducing me to them way back when they started out!
Yes Dami has this versatility that is very rare in rappers. Another female rapper that comes close in that regard that I can think of right now is MiMi from Oh My Girl.
Umu said what I’ve been saying about In The Frozen. It’s Silent Night’s little sister and my favorite off the album, definitely. Daybreak has to be one my favorite ballads of theirs and it’s just gorgeous. Overall, it’s a beautiful, beautiful album and well deserving of their first full length. I wonder if they’re gonna repackage it eventually with Handong’s vocals when she returns? I’d love to hear her on several songs on this.
Umu you managed to make me SO hype during In The Frozen it's insane, that was all of us when we first listened to that song. When I heard Silent Night on Raid Of Dream I immediately fell in love with it, and I would've never imagined that DC could pull off something at that same level of greatness, yet we're all proven wrong ONCE AGAIN with In The Frozen, it's simply amazing, the whole album is.. these girls are just incredibly talented, they can do it ALL.
I bet LEEZ and Oullander must be very proud of the girls..they pull of and completed the album so well..wanna showcase their vocal..tats probably why their albums always end with these vocal wise music.
SAHARA caught my attention first when i watched their highlight medley idk why it's just aesthetically beautiful plus dami's rap is on another level and siyeon's highnote too---
My mood rn is chill or rock type, so my faves from the album are actually Jazz Bar, Daybreak, and Sahara but I gotta admit In The Frozen has a very thoughtful, surprising progression and is very uplifting. Doesn't mean that the others aren't thoughtful tho, seriously there's no bad songs in the album! The only bad thing is they didn't win anything 😪 Edit: that's also the reason why Dami is my bias. She can pull every genres. She is both masculine and feminine 💕
that can be an easy possibility, LEEZ and Ollounder produces for both! But, we all know what'd happen... ATEEZ x Dreamcatcher would straight up break Kpop. Like, it would cause Kpop to implode.
I'm loving Dreamcatcher more and more each comeback and they really snatched me in this album and I kind of regret why I just casually listen to their songs but whoo I am loving these girls a lot! My top favorite songs in this album are Sahara and Tension (reminds me of early to mid 2000 pop rock) and Red Sun 👍🏼 but all songs are super great! P.s. that sudden Stray Kids insert is so damn funny I didn't expect that Sean will mention that 😂❤ indeed the best version of In to the Unknown 😂
The fanbase is call inSomnia meaning "in Dreams". Paradise is a Siyeon solo single release just before the full album release and it is now part of the album. Both Full Moon and Over the Sky was previous fan singles released in 2018 and 2019 respectively to celebrate the group's anniversary of their debut.
I was looking forward on your reaction to Dreamcatcher's bonus track on the album which is a solo song by Siyeon titled "Paradise". But you ended up on the Outro. 😭

In the Frozen is insane and freaked me out the first time I listened to it and Daybreak reminds me of a Red Velvet bside a little bit. Also, Dami is such a good rapper. (I'm saying this as an orbit/aghase/leggo/beginnerinsommia/ I like way too many groups)
In The Frozen is one of my favorite songs ever and watching musically knowledgeable people react to it makes it so much more beautiful and interesting to listen to!!

They got requests for her from day 1 and they wouldn't do a reaction to her. I don't know the precise reason but can list some why they don't, mostly these 1) She isn't a kpop singer 2) Her arrangements don't necessarily fit to kpop's "more and even more" principle 3) Most of the songs are really well known ballads, disney songs, or korean ost's which may not appear interesting to the audience of the channel at all 4) Bright contemporary mix belts she makes. it's very different from operatic high notes (g and higher) a soprano would do, which may be held as a reference as "how you should sound like". 5) This isn't a voice review channel, there are many others which do that, and literally everyone knows how great of a singer Sohyang is. Sad thing is that there are a bunch of great singers in SK - Son Seungyeon, Lena Park, Ali, Park Kiyoung, Lee Hae-ri, Lee Sun Hee, and many more which noone even suggests to react to. For example, most kpop fans have heard Solar's or Siyeon's covers or Speechless and praise them (for a good reason, because they are quite good indeed), but SSY version is in completely different league.
Seriously man.. This album has no song that I dislike. Dreamcatcher is ever so consistent with the quality of their music. Thanks for going through the album!! On a completely unrelated topic, when you mention Stray Kidz hilarious cover of Into the unknown, have you seen Eunji's (from Apink) cover of that song? Didn't watch the movie personally but I quite like the song. Was amazed by Eunji's cover of it.

This was a really great album and I enjoyed listening to every track on it!! I only got into dreamcatcher recently and that's thanks to you and PD and I am really thankful for you guys introducing me and making me fall in love with such a great and amazing group❤❤❤ Honestly my top songs on this album are Scream In the frozen Red sun Black or white But overall it's such a great album!!
I really got crazy over Daybreak, that's my fav. from the album. Like the song and their vocals fits so much. I can't help but to listen to it every day 💙
Maybe it's a weird stretch, but the rap verse in Sahara, the mixing and how it sounds in general reminds me of french rap. Idk why it reminded me of PNL so much.
Seems I enjoy things fully on one side of the spectrum or the other so Daybreak and scream really did it for me. Scream mainly for the riff in the chorus, but the whole song is excellent.
Since Siyeon's track "Paradise" is on this album as well, did you skip that for a reason and are you planning to react to that in a separate video? Or did you do one reaction on it already and I can't find it?
Would really appreciate if you could put links of the music to Dreamcatcher's official channel instead of to a compilation video that someone ripped off.
