I noticed that while the poem begins with the persona as a child it ends with him as an adult. This can be seen in the way he expresses himself more eloquently, the way he describes the various types of discrimination and racism. The stanzas also much longer than the last two perhaps reflect on how vocal he was about the issue in his younger years but as he gets older in age he is less vocal because nothing seems to change. He continues to grow into adulthood still feeling like a child small to society, hopeless, still being discriminated against and still wishing and hoping for change.
I wanted to come back and say THANK YOU! I got a 1 with AAB profile . Also it amazes me how much your channel has grown like wow! When I started watching a couple months ago, weeks before exam it was at 3-4 k and now it is at 12k . You deserved it , keep up the good job sir!!
This poem brings tears to my eyes. I guess if I feel so emotionally reading this poem I can pass then, because I heard you have to dig deep into analyzing and write to save my life on that paper😅😅
Well..I did the exam today and wrote about dreaming black boy and once upon a time on section B, where the question says something like describe a significant event that happen and how it impacts the speaker, so to the best of my ability I choose these poems. Thanks to you and your hard work I was able to get an understanding and analysis of these poems in such a short time, and be able to write about it. Thank you Sir😊❤️

Question sir: so istarted writing a comparative essay on my parents and dreaming black boy, I was just waiting on this video to continue, now I can. Would you mind if I send it to you via email and you access it please?
@@AdamWebbCSEC Of course sir🙌. You've Immensely helped me to interpret the poems and to an extent, made me like rather love literature 😆. Through your videos and the aid of my teacher I'm confident I'll pass. Thank you lots♡
Hi Sir, it's me again, can it also be said that a sub-theme of dreaming black boy is religion? Because, in reference to the line "Wish same way creation would have me stand it would have me stretch..." this line could be in reference to God, he's wishing his creator, God would have him stand up for himself and stretch past the limits of racial discrimination. Additionally, the Klu Klux Klan would terrorize blacks through the use of torture and intimidation with the cross lighting, they would treat blacks as evil anomalies in the name of religion. It also says he wish "plotters in pajamas would pray for themselves" which could mean that while they chant praying for evil to begone, it should be for themselves and not the blacks.
@@AdamWebbCSEC it's really sad imagining a child going through this just because he's black the colour of your skin doesn't define you. You can see that this lower his self esteem. O my he just wants to be treated like everybody else he wants to be recognized and not hated or feared.
