Came for the T4 reverse camera video 4 years go, stayed for the Dremel repair (hope the t4 has survived)

Exactly the same issue as mine 👍 I soldered a short section of wire to the winding wire rather than unwind 1 turn 🍻

Great Job bootsowen👍 Nice easy fix, and no parts needed! I think thata combination of vibrations and the way the solid copper wire gets gripped / stripped by those pieces of metal is the reason for failure. It might be better to leave the wires slightly longer if possible and solder them onto the metal parts? Not sure how well that would work but it may prevent a failure in the future. Nice work!

The ''Tripplikit Electronics'' channel had this very same problem, on a Dremel 3000, twice in two years!

Owen, not sure that not removing one turn from the other field winding would have made much difference to the magnetic force, cheers

I wondered about it Andy. I worked on the presumption that the skilled experts who made this device gave due care and attention to the number of windings being equal and I didn’t want to do them down. I was glad it broke at the last winding rather than the first.

Can you please show how to test -check a dreamel 4000 -three wires -red ,black, blue colored wires comming out of the speed controller, how to remove it's blue knob without breaking to/ and clean its potntiometer, when it becomes sticky or scratchy causing erratic uncertain, speed control. Just a drop of solvent /cleaning-lubricating oil.

Good gawd man- I’m wondering if you should be taking ANYTHING apart! #1) if these tools fail at these areas, they do so quickly- so most likely it’s under warranty- which is voided as soon as you take a screw out. #2) anyone that’s not highly mechanically inclined- using this video- will have no more than a pile of parts by the time it’s over with - if they haven’t electrocuted themselves to death! Frightening video
