Yes, bullet proof coffee helped me when I started my Keto journey. I lost 135lbs.and continue to use it on my salads or in my coffee. Four years later and still doing great. Thanks for all you do!
Wow congratulations on your weight loss. Keep up the great work. I myself lost 90 pounds in nearly 2 years on Ketogenic lifestyle and IF. I use MCT oil or grass-fed ghee in my coffee everyday. I believe it has helped me reach my weight-loss goal and reversed my insulin resistance and its associated degenerative diseases completely ..I love MCT oil and grass-fed Ghee. 😊
Started drinking MCT oil in my coffee a couple weeks ago. I have also used a 18/6 int fasting cycle. No snacking limited carbs. Since March I’ve dropped 19 lbs.
Nature’s Way sells Organic MCT oil 16 oz for about $13 on Amazon. Its hard to tell what percentages of c8/c10 some brands actually contain (if any). I contacted the company to ask and this was their answer: Each serving of 1 tablespoon of 100% MCT Oil contains 14 grams of medium chain triglycerides. Of that 14 grams, 7.7 grams are caprylic acid (c8) and 4.0 grams are capric acid (c10). The remaining 2.3 g is a combination of lauric (c12) and caprioc acid (c6). That’s pretty great
I met a lovely old girl a few weeks ago whilst cleaning out my 80yo mothers unit as her dimentia forced her to full time care. Whilst talking with this lovely lady she anounced that she was 98yo. Wow! she was 100% mentally sharp as a pin. I complimented her cognition and she said she was diagnosed with mild dementia at around 80yo. With some medication and MCT oil everyday she recovered everything. She talked up the MCT. Considering my Nan and mother had/have dimentia I am high risk so needless to say, MCT is now part of my morning ritual. Also Keto diet. I just pour a few glugs straight into my mouth without touching my lips that way you don't have the oily feeling. About 2 table spoons. Zero taste. Fingers crossed.
Just got some mct oil today and will start using it in the morning. I have followed the ketogenic diet for four months and I exercise regularly with turbo walking, weight training and running sprints for the last 10 months. My blood sugars are the best they have been in ten years, not diabetic, but insulin resistant. I have lost 25 pounds and two inches off my waist. I am 69 years old and did not start working out until I hit 68. Thank you for your excellent videos. I am a retired registered nurse and appreciate your scientific ways in relating information. Thank You!!
Thanks coach. My partner and I are a mid-70's couple (Canada) and 90 days into Carnivore/Keto. Thank you for helping us with our new reality. We're combatting insulin resistance and joint pain. So far so good. However, a certain boredom sets in w this rigorous diet. Thank you for your guidance.
Totally understand the boredom side of things that's my biggest hurdle which makes me fall off the wagon. I hope you and your partner are still doing great on your Carnivore/Keto way of life!
I take more than a couple tablespoons throughout the day. Thank you Kait for all your helpful information! C6 is really good too mostly found in mct oil supplements pills. I used to be able to purchase mct oil with 6, 8, 10 & 12. I started taking mct oil January 2022 and have lost almost 100 lbs. I really do not believe a tablespoon is enough. When I take mct oil I feel energy. I lost 50 lbs during a time when I was non weight baring on my left leg & arm. I was hit and ran by a mack truck. Compound fracture X2 shattered arm and disk. I know the oil works! Thank you again Beautiful Kait! May Father God Bless you Abundantly!
I have been taking MCT everyday for 10 months now. I put it in coffee, sometimes with butter or creamer. Don't take way too much as it could cause you to run to the toilet (unless you intentionally want to do so). 2 - 3 tsp works best for me. I noticed that just after about a month of continued use, my eyesights gotten better, could be because it helped lower my blood sugar (have been on metformin 4 yrs now). Probably helped my body become more sensitive to insulin. Definitely I have more energy as I don't have problems going up and down flights of stairs, don't run out of breath anymore. Definitely helped my memory (used to be terrible) and gotten a lot more alert throughout the day.
Jun, I have had an improvement in my night vision, also taking mct🥥, but I, too, have increased my butter & free range egg🧈🍳 intake, so I wonder if it could be due to increased bioavailable retinol, from those animal fats?🤔
@@helenahandkart1857 I have always had eggs for breakfast, butter just sometimes. I'm still trying to figure out why my vision improved that much but it was just mct that I added to my diet and nothing else. Not much change in my life either except that I'm getting old, really old :-(. Some of my other friends also noticed improved eyesight after regularly taking mct. I guess the benefits differ from person to person but generally more energy, alertness, and improved memory.
Perhaps because MCT oil improves brain function and neuronal activity in the brain.. centers for vision and eye muscle control in the brain maybe working better. Also powers mitochondria through out the body so might be impacting eye muscles. Just a hunch.
I just purchased a bottle of bulletproof mct oil and plan to start tomorrow morning with a cup of bulletproof coffee. I’m 60 years old, I abused my body in various ways until last year when I realized that my health takes priority, if I don’t take action now i know I will regret not embracing and living a healthier life. I’ll be sure to share my progress to improve my metabolic health and wellness! Thank you so much for all the good information!!!
Start slow! It can cause nausea and diarrhea. A teaspoon a day and work your way to up to 3 tablespoons a day. I personally do 2 tablespoons. More of anything is not necessary better. Cheers!
I’m 41 days into the carnivore diet and I have been using grass feed butter and mct oil to make bulletproof coffee in the morning and sometimes in the evening in order to get enough fats. So far I’m loving it.
Yes, I use MCT oil and I love it. I learned from lots of RU-vid channels that you must take C8 and or C10 MCT oil. I do not take any other kind of MCT oil. The information is on the Internet. Thank you for this information.🙏❤️
Day one of MCT oil, took 1 tablespoon of oil after 19 hr's fasting then had first meal an hour later. No stomach issues, now 3 hr's later having dinner and can't finish it lol. Appetite suppression is for real! Trying to lose weight so that's welcome any day lol!!
I am SO glad that I found you! My husband and I have been following the keto diet (off and on) for a couple of years. We fell off the wagon around the holidays and finally hopped back on about a month ago. I’ve lost 10, and am ‘stalled’; post mentalpausal 😄, I would love to lose another 8-10 and get rid of the post mentalpause bell fat that suddenly appeared. My Blood keytones are typically somewhere between 1.9-3.5., and we fast as long as possible - typically 20 hours. So when I get on the scale each time and see the same dang number, its annoying. NOW that I have watched this video, I understand the benefits of bulletproof coffee. It makes so much more sense, and am going to introduce that to my plan and see what happens! I’ll be viewing more of your videos for sure!
I have recently started with MCT oil and adjusted to it without any problems. It is MCT oil bought in Costco and I now use 1 tablespoon 3x per day in am with coffee, at 1 pm with lunch. At 4 pm I eat again without MTC oil and then I eat supper at 7pm with MTC oil. I used to be ravenously hungry in the evenings and putting on a lot of weight. Now evening hunger is completely gone and I am able to fast until 1 pm the next day my first meal. Except coffee and MCT oil around 7am. It really helped with incessant hunger which is a great relief. I feel I could even increase another tablespoon as I am lucky not to have any digestive issues. I don’t have gallbladder and maybe this oil is good for me as I have problems digesting heavy fats. I also use some olive and avocado oil. No sugar and not too many carbs. Also because I can’t tolerate cow’s milk I drink goat milk and eat goat cheese. Works for me and I lost weight as I am able to control hunger this way.
Ok I’m convinced into trying this, I want to make it to 87+ . I’m double nickels (55) now so hopefully I’m not 😢too late for body repair. My mother didn’t make it past age 50😢
I add MCT powder (coconut sourced) into my last cup of coffee which ends my fasting window ~10 am. It definitely helps me lose weight and maintain it. My favorite is Orgain Keto chocolate powder…but it’s hard to find. It is amazing in orange seltzer water too. It tastes like a chocolate covered orange, which if you’ve never tried, you need to!
Hi, I have been using MCT oil for a few weeks now. So far I have used 1.5 liters of liquid MCT oil. I feel on top of the World. I believe that I function better. Physically and mentally. Just made some sugar free sweets with MCT powder. This to help me with my sugar cravings. I officially stopped sugar about three months ago and I don't take any in my tea or coffee, but seem to fall off the wagon with ice-cream! But even that has to go eventually. Lost ca 15 kg over the last 3-4 months.
I bought some, and I haven't used it yet. I always worry I'm going to be the one person who has weird reactions to things, LOL. But in addition to all the benefits listed here, I heard it may help reduce risk of Alzheimer's and with both my mom and grandmom getting early onset Alzheimer's, I want to take all precautions. I'll give it my first go tomorrow morning!
I mix with raw grassfed milk, cacao, and erythritol. I believe that should very health chocolate drink. I feel it makes the cacao mix better because of how it absorbs oil.
Often,I whip heavy cream with mct oil the night before, organic stevia drops , right in my coffee cup,put it in the fridge and in the morning i have a nice thick creamy treat in my coffee. Sometimes i add grass fed butter after or on my second cup. I go all day and feel great. Ive been omad for years now.
I was using MCT oil, but I developed the terrible digestive issues. I was usually taking it on an empty stomach, so that may have been the problem. Thank you for the ideas of ways to consume it. I love the salad dressing idea! Your videos are really awesome! 😊
I’ve been using MCT oil for about 8 years. I’ve never been overweight but I am pre-diabetic and have been off and on for 40 years depending on pregnancy and how active my work is. I’ve been a fitness instructor for 10 years and retired a few years ago. It’s a good reminder because I do have MCT oil in my cabinet and need to start using it again. I also have coconut oil in my cabinet and need to start using it on my cooking too! Thanks for reminding me to use what I already have 🎉
The pancreas cannot function correctly or produce proper insulin without iodine. The fact that this is never even acknowledged by Doctors should tell you all you need to know...
C12 definitely isn't just filler. It is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-viral and is one of the primary ways I avoid infections including herpes outbreaks. It is extremely effective. C12 is an excellent addition to any MCT oil, as long as it is derived from coconut oil (preferably organic). I use an organic product that contains C8 C10 and C12 (mostly C8). I put 1 to 2 tbsp in my coffee every morning before I workout and I absolutely love what it does for me!
I started using Bulletproof Brain Octane C8 MCT oil when I began intermittent fasting. It is crucial to my fasting success. A teaspoon immediately stops my hunger/cravings. I find it has a very unique taste which I love; at first it tastes very buttery then has a peppery finish like many olive oils. I love it! I have only been using it for hunger management and did not know about its ketone generating attributes nor any of the other benefits you discussed in this video. Thanks for enlightening me.
Thank you for sharing. I haven’t used met oil. I just use coconut oil. I hadn’t realized all these benefits. I’ll try it. I have been on keto for 9 months of 2022. I am struggling with keto this whole year. You tips to help get into keto will help me. Thanks again for the info.
@@HealthCoachKait Hi Kait, they really are, I am so much happier now. I also feel alot better and alot less depressed. Before these videos I tried atkins, but it included things like canola oil, so it never really took. I am down now even more weight. I was 406lbs August 3rd today August 30th 389.7lbs. Iam not saying this for shock value. You probably saved my life. I was in a bad place, now I excercise alot have less pain. This is amazing. I cant believe eating bacon and my cholostrol and triglycerides dropped.
Hi there. Have taken 1 tablespoon of MCT 8 daily in coffee for 2 years now. Started with about a teaspoon and worked up. I like C8 as I read it is the best for brain absorption. Having lost my mother and three siblings to Alzheimer's dementia I was greatly concerned. Seems to be working as no problems yet and 80 in two weeks. Strongly recommend low carb or keto plus daily exercise slowly if you can. I swim 5 hours a week at local community centre. Keep moving!
I add powdered MCT oil to my first coffee of the day, with my usual splash of milk. It is quite pleasant. I had tried the liquid but had "digestive distress." I found the powder after listening to this video awhile back, so thank you for the suggestion.
I add organic unrefined cold pressed coconut oil in my coffee every morning. I also make a chocolate snack which I learned from Insulation Resistant 1 (Justin) - I make a single serving 1tbs coconut 🥥 oil, 1tbs Hershey’s unsweetened dark chocolate 🍫 cocoa powder, 1.5 - 2 stevia pkts. Put in freezer for 10 minutes.
I put coconut oil in my coffee (or hot chocolate). One surprising result was a cholesterol lab test had an extreme drop in my cholesterol. My coffee also has a sweetener in it, Allulose. For creamers I use goat milk, coconut milk or A2 milk.
I've never used a purified form, but I've been using more coconut oil for a couple years. I do the occasional bulletproof, but mostly I just cook things in it. I've never made the change in a systematic way to isolate any effects of it, but I feel good in general.
Im 77 been keto for 15 months and MCT in (tablespoon) morning coffee has 2 benefits....1 The 5km morning walk appears to be easier and its definitely easier to have a 3 or 4 hr window of eating.... Energy levels increased and veggie diet is expanded on and food prep is both exciting and incredibly easy. On going 2nd language skill improved greatly... Weight is now finally stable..Unlike most of my peers...no meds no doctors and no worries... btw ..yes I enjoy life by adding lotsa carbs (some refined) on every other day...an added benefit of biological flexibility
I have been using MCT oil maybe every other day for a year or so. It seems to do what you said in leveling out energy production and maybe it contributes a boost. Can't say for sure, because I started lifting weights about a year ago, and getting rid of most grains, bad fats, most sugars....no soy, flax, most dairy is out, every once in a while, a whole milkfat keifer to take care of the ol microbiome. So all of this was more or less started a little over a year ago.....and unless I have a hidden cancer somewhere...wt. loss and building muscle was pretty dramatic...average of 30 lbs. No keto, just eating sensibly and a sensible work out plan I put together.....Hey, pullups sure are better without that extra wt :)
I used MCT oil but in a powder form. I used it after I got covid and I felt I was robbed of my energy so it helped me recover faster. I did not know though about that there are various kinds. Thanks for the tip!
Be careful with MCT when first starting. I would try a TBSP. First time I did it I took a big swig like a shot. I had severe cramps for about 2 hours 😅
I still have a jar of coconut oil in my fridge. I went on a strict keto diet for 15+ months. Reversed type 2 DB. Lost 34+#. I use MCT to periodically to get back into ketosis, quick # drop. Hardest part of keto was maintaining muscle
I started using mct oil in powder form by key nutrients back at the end of august. I usually mix it in my coffee along with further food collagen peptides in the chocolate flavor and I it reminds of making like a keto. I have not been doing it to long like I said, but I will say I am a girl who loves sweets, chocolate in particular and having a dessert everyday was huge for me so I’ve found it’s help with cravings while also (bc of the flavor) allowed me still have it a little of the taste I love when I’m trying to reduce desserts. It’s definitely part of my routine now. I can easily make 2 cups of coffee with it a day. Started out slow bc I knew that there was a chance of stomach distress while getting use to it. My other favorite thing about is that I work right now from 9-3 ( eat breakfast around 8)and I get a quick 15-20 minute break where I will eat lunch. I take my break at 1 and due to drinking this in my coffee in the morning with a small breakfast, I usually don’t feel like I’m starving when I eat lunch! Can’t wait to see more good things as I take it longer :)
Started using mct more than 12 months ago and did it for 6 months without any impact on ketones so I stopped. Recently I started again with amazing results with ketones increasing from .5 to 1.5+. No weight loss yet.
I had tried MCT oil in BP coffee or in tea, frothed. When I realized it was causing some diarrhea, I thought "Great, an answer to my constipation - yay!" But it caused cramping as well. I backed off the dose to just 1/4 tsp and still had some GI distress. When I stopped using it completely, after months of daily use, I realized the MCT oil was what had caused my skin to be so dry, my hands so rough, and my elbows ridiculously cracked and dry! This really surprised me because I learned that skin reactions from food were caused by protein sensitivities. Well, MCT is a fat, not a protein, yet it truly does make my hands disgustingly rough and dry. Not just used topically, but when ingested. So, I guess my body just can't handle MCT oil. P.S. I have my gall bladder and I've been eating mostly carnivore for two years now. I started eating carnivore to eliminate GI distress from FODMAPS.
I just purchased Nutiva Organic MCT Oil today at HEB - Only C8 & C10. I was told to stay away from C12. But will keep you all posted on digestion issues.
We have MCT Oil in coffee each morning. Not sure I really conciously notice the benefits, but the taste of the Perfect Keto MCT Oil Powder is pretty good. I’m wondering if I’d benefit from adding the MCT oil into my mid-day coffee...
Yes Kait I use MCT oil in coffee In the mornings. It Helps me not feel hungry so that it's a lot easier to to do intermittent fasting. 🤓👍☕. Great job on the video it looks good to me
Love your videos Kait! I would love it if you would do one on collagen powders. Are they helpful? Which one is most beneficial? Reviews I've have read are confusing. One says "this one" is best, another promotes "another one". Help!
Me too. Also, can you explain what happens when a person loses a significant amount of weight and skin is loose and wrinkly and if collagen powders are a scam/do they work/and collagens job in keeping skin tight. Thanks
@@HealthCoachKait can you try it with NuSkin collagen possibly? There was extensive research and studies done by scientists on this product. I want to see what it would be like compared to all the other collagens out there, since collagen is so popular right now. I am a distributor of it, if you want to look into it. But no worries if not.
I have been taking collagen for about 5 years. I started for gut health, which is very common with people who have had IBS. Mine was caused by gluten and I have been gluten free 18 years now. A lot of people do not see any benefits to skin and hair in the first few years. The body sends it where it is needed first. The problem is the longest study is only 6 months long.
I have MCT oil but am having "digestive" troubles. I will have to try a little at a time. I recently read a very good book by a doctor who treated her husband who had alzhiemer's with MCT oil and coconut oil. I am diabetic and overweight, so I really think it would be helpful.
Was this the lady that was putting it in his oatmeal and drawing a clock improved? I remember seeing this a LONG time ago and I may have the details of the treatment/story wrong (LOL). Interesting and having the ketones feed brain cells that are insulin resistant and can't shuttle glucose in, still being able to use ketones makes sense.
When I want a treat I add coconut oil and a teaspoon of coconut flavor in my morning coffee. It's a great treat. I should "treat yourself" more often 💯
Rounded tsp in my coffee, rounded tsp on my keto toast was so much easier on my stomach. No nausea, and I actually feel better than with my normal breakfast.
Love your video! Just a bit of friendly advice for editing (I'm a video editor) - at the end of your sentence cut to the next shot quicker, less dead ai. It can feel awkward as a viewer whenever we're just waiting on the next cut!
My friend reminded me of using MCT oil and I remembered you had done this video so I got c8 to tryout, I missed the powder type of MCT I will keep an eye 👀 out for that 🤞☘️ thanks for your videos 👍
I recently started using MCT oil, about a month ago. I haven't see much with the fat burning. I believe I just need to up how much I am taking. I've been taking it at a teaspoon a day. I also haven't been consistently eating it everyday either.
Eating distinct meals (2-4 hours apart) and shortening my eating window really helped me lose weight. You might want to see Y T videos of Dr Mindy Pelz about some short fasts that helps improve weight loss.
I have been using MCT oil for the last two-ish months...I have less cravings and I have been off my HBP meds and sleep meds also due to eating the right kind of foods and staying away from processed foods! I stick mainly to dirt grown or real proteins.
i had a gastric bypass 7 years ago and i gained mos ot my weight back.. i have a hypo thyroidism and take seroquel which made me gain 70 lbs in 3 mos.. so i lost 80ish llbs.. i started doing food delivery so i started eating more than i should.. so i was told by drs not to do keto,, but im giving it a chance,, so i sub to your channel.. ty so much for the help
Keto is a diet of little or no carbohydrates. MCT oil is just a subliment for anyone. I am thrilled with it. How is the bypass working out? A friend of mine is have a lower portion of her stomach removed because of cancer. Fortunately it was found early. No cemo radiation. She is a little woman about 100lbs.
