I have been doing most of what you suggested except the exercise. In 45 days, my BG has went from 180-200+ down to 117-135. This is eating less than 20G Carbs daily (sometimes none), mostly protein, high (good) Fat, Intermittent Fasting 16/8 and using Apple Cider Vinegar. I have stopped snacking and eat twice daily, sometimes only once depending on my schedule. Thanks so much for what you do.

Do you have any advice on how can I lower my fasting glucose? I've changed my diet drastically by cutting out flour, pasta, rice and so on. and I can't get my fasting glucose to drop below 100. What should I do?

@@dollyade1161 No extra sugar:) There are food and drinks with low or no sugar. Eat two to times a day far between. Use sweetners if you crave the sugar taste. Just follow advice in the video. Dont starve yourself, feel your bodys needs. Worked for me, but may not work for you. Try a couple of days at a time.

1. Track your blood sugars, 10 mins before you eat, 10 mins after you eat, 30 mins after, 2 hours after you eat. 2. BE SMART WITH CARBS. less than 50gm per day. Or less than 20g per day. Exercise if you eat carbs, eat at the end of meal, eat protein and nonstarchy veg first, carbs last. 3. Do the Exercise right. Use resistance training rather than cardio. Lift weights or squats, push ups etc reps over 20 mins.
@randomcommenter935
@randomcommenter935 Год назад
My 1, 2, 3 ... 1- Drop carbs to near zero (over time). Exception: non-starchy vegetables (if you like them, eat them) OVER TIME If you eat a lot of carbs now, drop to 100 carb grams or fewer today and do this for 5 days. On day 6, drop to 75 carb grams or fewer for 4 days. On day 10, drop to 50 carb grams or fewer for 3 days. On day 13, drop to 30 carb grams for a week. Weigh yourself ... decide if you can keep this up 2- Go sugar free and sugar substitutes free - over time First, ditch foods with sugars (primarily junk food). If you NEED sugar to get through this stage, use pure stevia. Ditch all laboratory created sugar substitutes. Use pure organic stevia. 3- Stop snacking altogether. Eat 2 meals (or one) daily, seated, fully chewing, and not rushing. If you must have your snack (nuts, cheese stick, hard boiled egg, etc.) eat that as part of your meal at the end - not while watching TV. Bonus: If you have gut issues, drink 30 minutes before or after your meal, but not while eating. Fluid while eating dilutes your stomach acid. That acid needs to remain strong to fully digest your food properly.

I think I've been insulin resistant most of my life. I had terrible acne in my teens and heavy periods, and always craved sugar. Lately I've developed skin tags and put on an alarming amount of weight. I started low carb two days ago and already I'm feeling better.

Currently I am standing at 69 KG. Took me 4 months. Recently HbA1c results were at 5.6 Carbohydrates are to be totally avoided.

Great job! It took me 40 days to lose my first ten pounds, but I eased into keto and I.F. slowly! I'm 62, 6' & diabetic. Started at 360lbs, 25 weeks later I'm at 290lbs. I do mild cardio (30-50 minutes, depending on my schedule, with 90% of that time in my target heart range!). Feeling like I'm 50 again! I'm hoping by Spring2022 to feel like I'm 40 again - I weighed about 230lbs then. After that, who knows?! I do Supplementation as well to treat my diabetes and some other conditions. Keep up the good work!

Love how you have done the research and then simplified the advice for the masses. The only other big tip which you have discussed in prior videos is to shorten your window for consumption of food each day. Per your advice I’m drinking a leaded coffee at around 8 and then consuming food from around noon to around 7 p.m. I’m feeling more energetic already and not feeling the wild sugar swings! Aussie Dave in Pennsylvania here Kait,... You MUST use a glucose meter for knowledge :) When I started I saw my fasting blood sugar not move at all at 30 minute intervals up to 2 hours when I ate homemade Pork Sausage patties & eggs but saw my fasting glucose skyrocket from 105 to 200 after eating just half of a small 12 inch (30cm) Pizza ! This information is HUGE :)

I have tracked my glucose levels continuously for a few months using a Dexcom. When I started my current income producing activity, my glucose became easier to control even though my diet suffered greatly. I had to start moving my body weight up, pulling myself up on my back tire to put fuel in my truck and secure 5th wheel trailers in the bed. I got thinner from doing this pull up once or twice a day. It has been amazing. I also noticed that when I eat my protein with or before my carbs, my glucose level is more of a slow hill than a spike. Thanks for your help!

I love your videos.. so informative, precise and to the point, easy to understand for a layman and always backed by research. You have helped me so much in my PCOD reversal journey. I've seen dietitians before but they didn't even come close to explaining the way you do. Infact they added to my PCOD troubles by recommending very heavy rice based diets just cause they wanted me to go gluten free. Your videos have truly helped me understand my core issues and how to tackle them. I drive myself crazy while trying to pick the best workout for me. Cause nothing seems to work. I hate going to the gym and rely on home workouts by watching RU-vid videos. But its so difficult to pick one that's best suited for my concern. I feel exhausted and stressed after some of those workouts and lose consistency. But your take on exercising gives me hope. I'd be happy to try short but effective workouts on alternate days since that's more suited to my work schedules too. Thanks Kait. God bless you for all the good work that you do.

Question/comment: in my research on this topic, I have found several sources that said eating sugar along with protein actually has worse affects on blood sugar spikes then eating them separately, which is different from what you are saying here. Hello ! I really like your videos and this one in particular, you are so enthusiastic and clear in your messages! Regarding the three points: The first: I'm a bit of a minimalist and don't want to buy an electronic blood glucose meter. The second: I have been eating almost no carbs for the past two months, however for some time now strangely my digestion is not perfect without a little rice, my sleep is not at its best either! too much energy? is my body under stress? anyway I feel the need to eat a little carbohydrate and your idea of permanently combining them with fat is really great and not starting the meal with carbs is very relevant too! Thank you it works! As for exercising right after a meal, I can't I'm too tired from digesting my two daily meals! Finally the third advice is the best for me I think, I practice a lot cycling and walking almost every day, however I'm tall and thin and not very muscular, actually gaining muscle would probably allow me to lower my insulin resistance! For a few days now I have been cycling up hills and practicing on fitness machines in the park next to my house, I hope that this will improve my health. Thanks again for your advice!

35 years ago I learned about the two major points of this video, making sure you dont eat carbs alone and building muscle for fat loss instead of doing cardio. After all this time FINALLY someone has said it in a public forum where other people can learn this. Walking is wweird though, waking along a sidewalk is cardio, hiking up a mountain and scrambling over rocks resistance. I've seen a few people saying, "But I walk 6 miles every day and am still not losing fat!" yet I go on a 2 mile hike 3 times a weak and lose many inches off my stomach/waist. Walking on flat ground is a cardio workout, you aren't building muscle after the first few times you do it. I am surprised a lot of the big YT'ers that are huge 'low-carb' proponents dont touch on mixing carbs with fat and protein, and instead just say "no carbs." As Kait even says here, you can keep your blood glucose in the healthy range even with some carbs, especially if you stick with complex carbs like whole grains instead of simple carbs like sugar, white flour and white rice.

Great video Kait. I do track my blood sugar. I will try a 30, 1 and 2 test. I have been testing after one hour and fast blood sugar.

Thank you for this information. One area that I believe doctors need to talk about is how menopause affects metabolism and can create insulin resistance. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Very informative video! I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 20 or 21; at that time, a lot was going on, and I had no idea about any of it. I used to have very regular cycles ( 28 days, every month like clockwork), then after having to get my own housing, I was very stressed and suddenly couldn't afford food! So I went from having access to food at any time, to having no or very little money. I suddenly had to budget my food and I was only eating a little bit of food, maybe once or twice a day, well below the recommended daily calorie intake. During this time, I noticed a lot of things happening all at once: I was less emotionally stable (I guess practically starving will do that), I gained weight because what little I could afford had no real nutritional value, and I had no energy to exercise, let alone do anything else. My periods wound up becoming so irregular, it was really scary; at that point it was only happening once maybe twice in any given year. Well a little less than 2 years ago, I managed to get my calorie intake up and my periods are much more regular than they've been in almost 20 years! NOW, I'm having a hard time getting my weight down to 250, which is only a 25 pound difference and it seems like regardless of what I do, the weight won't come off. Starving myself won't help (that happened for 17 years and I only gained weight).

Walk for 30 minutes a day Wake up no later than 6 and exercise in the morning Don't eat any sugar or sweets Don't eat anything with bread Eat lots of green veggies After 3 months I guarantee you shred weight if you follow exactly what I've written, if not you should see a doctor.

Throughout my life I lost a lot of weight couple of times, and what I found out is that if I follow, what I did before and it worked before BUT if my stress levels are high - I stop loosing weight immediately and can stay like that for as many days as I am in stress. If stress level in your life is high - it will be very difficult to loose any weight no matter, what you do, even if you are starving. Another tip - because you've been eating little calories for so long, your body is trying to hang onto whatever calories it can get, as it worries if you are trying to kill yourself by starving, so it's trying to survive. So, to overcome this - start eating small portions (200-250g) every couple of hours every day at EXACTLY the same times. This is very important. Body needs to learn that it's getting food supply regularly, so that it can stop storing every calorie it gets. Once your body learns that ( it can take up to 1-2 weeks and also at that time you will not lose anything, so that's normal) then you will start loosing weight fast. Third tip - try sleeping as much as you can ( forget this 6am wake up, unless you really need to eg because of work) and try to get 8-9 and even 10 hours of sleep per night. The longer you sleep - the more you loose. Also, what was helping me out was exercising first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, every single day. I did bodyflex (the old Greer Childers tapes) and it worked really fast for me. First week I'd exercise 2 times per day, as she advices, to jump start the metabolism, and afterwards I'd just do once a day in the morning. If you combine all those, you'll lose weight very quickly and also will tone up your body into a nice shape.
